We evaluated SUOX and GLUT1 expression in 96 large duct type iCCA cases and proportion score (PS) was used to evaluate the expression; receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of both SUOX and GLUT1 expression were generated, and the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis were used to estimate overall survival. Of the 96 iCCA cases, 73 (76.0%) showed low SUOX expression and 66 (68.8%) showed high GLUT1 expression. The 5-year survival rate of iCCA with low SUOX expression was significantly shorter than that of iCCA with high SUOX expression (p = 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in all-cause mortality [RR 1.02; 95% CI 0.92-1.12], or cardiovascular mortality [RR 0.95; 95% CI 0.83-1.08] between P2Y12 inhibitors and aspirin users. Additionally, there was no significant difference in major bleeding events [RR 0.88; 95% CI 0.74-1.04], or all bleeding events [RR 1.09; 95% CI 0.90-1.33] between P2Y12 inhibitors and aspirin groups. Yet, CD81 functions in the brain remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of CD81 knockdown, using lentiviral vectors (LV), on anxiety- and ethanol-related behaviors. For this purpose, mice were stereotaxically injected with CD81 shRNA-expressing LV into the nucleus accumbens (Nacc) and were assessed for anxiety-like behavior using the elevated plus maze (EPM) and open field (OF) tests. Alcohol's sedative effects were studied using loss-of-righting-reflex (LORR) and voluntary ethanol intake was assessed using a two-bottle choice (TBC) procedure. Results showed that mice depleted of CD81 exhibited an anxiolytic-like response in the EPM and OF tests with no effect on locomotor activity. In addition, genetic reduction of CD81 in the Nacc increased mice' sensitivity to alcohol's sedative effects in the LORR test, although plasma alcohol concentrations were unaffected. Interestingly, CD81 loss-of-function-induced anxiolysis was accompanied by a significant decrease in ethanol, but not saccharin nor quinine, intake in the TBC procedure. Finally, and following CD81 mRNA quantification, Pearson's correlations showed a significant positive relationship between accumbal CD81 mRNA with anxiety and ethanol-related behaviors. Our data indicate that CD81 is implicated in the pathogenesis of anxiety and alcoholism. Indeed the targeted disruption of CD81, with the resultant decrease in CD81 mRNA in the Nacc, converted ethanol-"preferring" mice into ethanol "non-preferring" mice. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that future CD81-targeted pharmacotherapies may be beneficial for the treatment of anxiety and alcoholism.

This was a retrospective cohort study of deliveries at a tertiary care center from January 2009 to March 2018. Individuals with ≥2 births, an index birth of <37 weeks of gestation, and a placental pathology report from the index pregnancy were included. The presence of maternal vascular malperfusion, fetal vascular malperfusion, acute inflammation, and chronic inflammation was extracted from the pathology reports for each index placenta and classified as none, low grade, or high grade. This study aimed to develop a reliable and valid instrument to measure patients' valuation of their uterus.

The Value of Uterus instrument was developed on the basis of existing literature and created with structured patient-reported outcome measurement development methodology. An initial 14-question instrument was administered to 152 patients, and the instrument was revised on the basis of an analysis of internal consistency. The resulting Value of Uterus instrument has 6 items and includes a visual analog scale for the question "How important is it to you to keep your uterus when you have a gynecologic condition?" To validate the instrument, we recruited 51 patients aged >45 years with uterovaginal prolapse who presented to the urogynecology dee included in the medical decision-making. Value of Uterus may be useful for future research in other gynecologic conditions where uterine preservation is an option.

Hysterectomy is the most common nonobstetrical medical procedure performed in US women. Evaluating hysterectomy prevalence trends and determinants is important for estimating gynecologic cancer rates and management of uterine conditions.

This study aimed to assess hysterectomy prevalence trends and determinants using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (2006-2016).

We estimated crude hysterectomy prevalences and multivariable-adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for associations of race or ethnicity, age group (5-year), body mass index (categorical), smoking status, education, insurance, income, and US region with hysterectomy. Missing data were imputed. The number of women in each survey year ranged from 220,302 in 2006 to 275,631 in2016.

Although overall hysterectomy prevalence changed little between 2006 and 2016 (21.4% and 21.1%, respectively), hysterectomy prevalence was lower in 2016 than in 2006 among women aged ≥40 years, particularly among non-Hispanic Black and Hispanin the South were associated with increased odds of hysterectomy, even after accounting for possible explanatory factors. Further research is needed to better understand associations of race and ethnicity and region with hysterectomy prevalence.
