Scaling up VWP with Vetiver and related competitive plant species holds promise for wastewater remediation for both human and ecosystem services.Not only the steadily growing demand for electricity generation but also the environmental concerns in recent years have led to the belief in the importance of renewable energy. Wind is one of the most important renewable energy sources utilized in electricity generation for a sustainable environment. This paper deals with performance assessment for existing onshore wind plants in terms of triple bottom line of sustainability and aims to propose a structural methodology. Furthermore, the proposed framework is essentially formed through two stages the first stage is the determination of relative weights for sustainability factors through the best-worst method (BWM) and the second stage is a sustainability performance assessment of the available 42 wind plants in Izmir, Turkey. According to the findings, the environmental dimension is the most significant, followed by the economic and social dimensions. The results also reveal that distance to protected areas is the most important factor among others in terms of sustainability performance and that the wind plants throughout the north side of Izmir have a higher sustainability performance. To validate the robustness and reliability of the introduced framework, a sensitivity analysis is also conducted. The proposed framework could be employed successfully in other scientific applications.The potential roles of solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) as an environmental risk factor in inducing atopic dermatitis (AD) have not been well quantified. To determine the short-term associations between UVR and AD outpatient visits, we obtained daily outpatient visits of AD in Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital from 2013 to 2018. Data of hourly ground UVR were collected. We applied overdispersed generalized additive model to explore its associations. We found that daily exposure to UVR-A rather than UVR-B was positively associated with AD outpatient visits. The visits increased on the present day (lag 0 days) and decreased appreciably with longer lags and became insignificant at lag 4 days. For 10 w/m2 increase in daytime mean and noontime mean exposure to overall UVR and UVR-A from lag 0 to 6 days, the cumulative relative risk of AD was 1.12/1.13 and 1.08/1.08, respectively. Stronger effects of UVR exposure on AD occurred in patients aged 0-7 and > 45 years and in the cold seasons. This study contributed to the few epidemiological evidences that acute exposure to solar UVR may elevate the risks of AD.China's increasing environmental pollution has caused concern for public health, so it is worth demonstrating the relationship between environmental behaviors and public health. To this end, this study examines the relationship between public health and both pollution and environmental behavior, based on micro-data and the ordered multinomial logistic regression model. It has been found that (1) external environmental pollution and subjectively perceived pollution have negation correlation with public health. Specially, air pollution and domestic waste pollution have significant associations and mainly with public mental health, (2) the environmental behavior of government and individual has an intermediary role, and (3) there is regional heterogeneity in the association between environmental pollution and public health. Residents in eastern China are more willing to mitigate the health damage caused by environmental pollution through individual environmental behavior, whereas those in central and western China emphasize government behavior. Finally, it is encouraged to actively implement environmental protection behaviors to improve the external environment and pay attention to the public's mental health.The applicability and efficiency of location-routing problems for relief commodities motivate several researchers to develop optimization models and algorithms with regards to real-world cases. This study by presenting a multiobjective mixed integer mathematical model for the location-routing of the medical relief problem at the time of a disaster, proposes a new extension to this applicable model with reliability considerations. The proposed model focuses on the location of temporary relief centers and delivers the pharmaceutical commodities to centers at the shortest possible time with reliability assurance. The model includes three simultaneous objectives of minimizing response time, minimizing operational costs, and maximizing the reliability of the transportation network. As far as we know, this study firstly optimizes these three objectives simultaneously. Another novelty is to add the uncertainty of the problem. In this regard, the inherent uncertainty is formulated by a scenario-based approach. Considering the multiobjectiveness of the proposed model, the Epsilon constraint method as a solution algorithm has been used to solve the model. Results are tested for numerical examples via different scenarios. this website The results represent the excellent performance of the model to minimize the costs and to increase the reliability for the proposed location-routing problem of relief commodities.This study aimed to evaluate the silicon (Si) capacity to attenuate the cadmium (Cd) effects on seed germination and seedling performance of lettuce. The seeds were subjected to three priming levels without priming, hydropriming, and Si priming. Afterwards, the seeds were placed to germinate on paper moistened with the absence (0 mM) and presence (1 mM) of Cd. Seeds exposed to Cd showed the same percentage of germination verified in seeds unexposed to this metal (99%). Si priming increases 16% the germination speed of seeds not exposed to Cd and promoted greater expression of esterase during seed germination. However, Cd promoted the decrease of the intensity of esterase and acid phosphatase expression, regardless of the seed priming technique used. Although it does not influence the germination percentage of lettuce seeds, Cd markedly reduced the dry weight of seedlings. This harmful effect caused by the Cd was 33% minimized with Si priming. In addition to the lower weight, Cd induced a significant reduction in antioxidant activity in seedlings.
