What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. This is why all new models we display include keyless entry and starting. This technology allows you access to your car and begin driving, while keeping your key fob in your pocket or in your purse.
The system works by using proximity sensors located in the doors and trunks, paired with an electronic key radio within the key fob. Here are some things you need to know about Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
An Audi equipped with proximity detection enables you to open and start your car without having to take the key out of your pocket or purse. This system lets you unlock the doors of your car, trunk and engine by a single click of the sensor button on the key.
A sound-based sensor, also called a capacitive sensor, is able to detect the presence of objects around by utilizing an acoustic wave. The sensors produce an electrical signal by using an oscillator. This signal is sent into the air by a microphone which converts it into an audio file. The audio files are evaluated to determine the degree of similarity and how close they are. When they are close and the system sends a wake-up signal to the key. It will also send an ID signal to the vehicle.
Proximity detection is just the first step to a more convenient driving experience. The Audi advanced key also comes with remote start which lets you start your car's engine without leaving the range of your key FOB. This can be useful when you are loading groceries into the trunk, placing children in their seats or packing for an family outing.
Audi pre sense basic, in addition, is a safety feature that assists you in avoiding accidents by taking preventive measures prior to collisions occurring. It makes use of data from other systems including the front camera radar sensors, the front camera and Audi side assist to calculate the probability of a collision and alert drivers. It can also trigger the automatic braking system at speeds of up to 250 km/h (155,3) and alert the driver via the head-up or virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
When you press your key fob's lock button, the Audi advanced key system communicates with the car's sensors. It sends a message to the car's system that confirms that it is an authorized key fob. This safeguards against unauthorized access to the vehicle without the proper key fob.
The key fob can be used to also start the vehicle from the pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system makes use of proximity sensor in the trunk lid and doors, as well as the key fob. The sensors open the doors when the key fob is in close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). Then, when you use the door handle or open the trunk the vehicle detects your key and starts the engine.
You can also utilize the key fob in order to activate the push-button function of your vehicle. If the key fob is inside of your pocket or purse, you can simply press the Start/Stop button in the center console to engage the engine. The car's sensors will confirm the authenticity of the key fob and then start the engine after they've verified it.
The Audi advanced key system has a keyless entry feature that lets you unlock your car's doors by simply pressing the handle on the exterior of the door. This is extremely useful when your hands are full or wearing gloves, for instance when you're carrying groceries or children into the vehicle. The system also includes a trunk release button, that lets you open the trunk with a kick gesture, another useful feature when you have a lot on your hands.
Contact Audi Brookline for any questions about the Audi advanced key system. We'll be happy to answer your questions or give you a the opportunity to see a demonstration in person. We can also repair or replace your key fob if needed. We are an official Audi dealership, so you can trust that we have the most up-to-date technology to keep you safe and comfortable on every Virginia Beach drive.
3. Keyless Entry
A keyless entry system can be a great convenience when you are carrying children, groceries or other equipment. You can unlock your car simply by touching a button or sensor that is mounted on the door handle (some models have the technology built right into the lock). The key fob will activate the sensors inside the vehicle when you are carrying it. This lets it know that you are nearby and that your finger is pressing the button. This will help prevent any unauthorized use of the vehicle, by making sure only you are able to open the doors.
Another feature that is typically offered by keyless entry systems is the ability to start your car remotely without the use of a key. Sensors that are mounted in the tailgate or trunk, and sometimes within the doors of the vehicle are employed to achieve this. These sensors will activate the engine of the vehicle and open the doors when the fob is within a specific range of the car - typically around 5 feet. After that, you can push the button to start your car. This is a great technique to warm your car prior to when you leave in the morning to go to work or when it's cold outside.
Some of the most advanced keyless entry systems don't even require a fob. The cars can be unlocked and then started with a smartphone app. This is a great solution for families or business owners who wish to give their employees access to their company cars. Some keyless entry systems can even remember the driver's preferred seating position as well as the temperature of the cabin. This could help you save time when you go to a parking area.
Some of the more advanced models of keyless entry systems include an activated rear hatch which will automatically shut and secure your cargo space by simply tapping your foot. This technology is offered in a wide range of Audi models and can be an option as a standard feature or an upgrade, depending on the model. These systems are not 100% secure, and they can be bypassed by thieves with a little technical knowledge.
4. Push-Button Start
In contrast to many other vehicle brands, Audi does not offer remote start on its vehicles in a factory capacity. Audi offers an alternative with similar features to remote start, dubbed the Audi Advanced Key.
While not a full remote start system, this is a great alternative for drivers who need an easy method to get their car going without the need for key insertion. This feature lets you unlock the doors of your Audi A4 or start the car by pressing a single button. This button is located in the same place as the ignition button on the standard car.
To activate This Resource site , you be required to have your key fob in your pocket and be close enough to your car. Sensors in the trunk and door handles will be activated when you and your key fob are within five feet of the vehicle. If you have the right code and a clear signal, the car will allow you to lock or start the car.
You can drive your Audi A4 with the touch of a button without having to search through your pockets and purse for your keys. This feature is ideal for those who spend much time in parking lots, and it can be an asset if you need to quickly warm up your vehicle for a commute or run some errands.
Once you're inside your car the system will continue to communicate with your key fob. This is done with encrypted signals to protect against hacking. It also comes with an Keyless Go card as a backup. It is credit card sized and can be used to unlock the vehicle if your key fob gets lost or is malfunctioning.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Audi Advanced Key and you are having difficulty getting it to start, there might be a problem with the key or vehicle. Your local Audi dealer can assist with this. The user manual contains instructions that can be used to re-pair your keys and vehicle.
