The active compounds also improved tau turbidity, suggesting that these compounds could alleviate aberrant tau aggregation. Testing the active compound against a panel of kinases across the kinome revealed greater selectivity towards DYRK1A. Our study demonstrates a serviceable protocol that identified a novel and selective DYRK1A inhibitor with potential for further study in tau-related pathologies. As small non-coding RNAs, MicroRNAs (miRNAs) bind to the 3' untranslated region (3'-UTR) of mRNA targets to control gene transcription and translation. The gene of miR-330 has two miRNA products, including miR-330-3p and miR-330-5p, which exhibit anti-tumorigenesis and/or pro-tumorigenesis effects in many kinds of malignancies. In cancers, miR-330-3p and miR-330-5p aberrant expression can influence many malignancy-related processes such as cell proliferation, migration, invasion, apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, as well as angiogenesis and responsiveness to treatment. In many cancer types (such as lung, prostate, gastric, breast, bladder, ovarian, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer, and osteosarcoma), miR-330-5p acts as an anti-tumor agent. These cancers have low levels of miR-330-5p that leads to the upregulation of the tumor promotor target genes leading to tumor progression. Here, overexpression of miR-330-5p using miRNA inducers can prevent tumor development. Dual roles of miR-330-5p have been also indicated in the thyroid, liver and cervical cancers. Moreover, miR-330-3p exhibits pro-tumorigenesis effects in lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, osteosarcoma, bladder cancer, and cervical cancer. Here, downregulation of miR-330-3p using miRNA inhibitors can prevent tumor development. Demonstrated in breast and liver cancers, miR-330-3p also has dual roles. Importantly, the activities of miR-330-3p and/or miR-330-5p are regulated by upstream regulators long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), including circular and linear lncRNAs. This review comprehensively explained miR-330-3p and miR-330-5p role in development of cancers, while highlighting their downstream target genes and upstream regulators as well as possible therapeutic strategies.Food processing industries generate 25-30% of fruit and vegetable peel (F&VP) waste of the total produce, which are rich in polyphenolic antioxidants (PA). Sustainable solution for the above waste can be its valorization for the recovery of PA, often used as natural preservative. Present work reports rationally designed graphene oxide-based molecularly imprinted composites (GOMIPs) using ionic liquid 1-allyl-3-octylimidazolium chloride (A) as a green functional monomer for selective recovery of PA 4-Hydroxy benzoic acid (4HA) from F&VP/pomegranate peel (PGP) waste. GOMIP-A and GOMIP-V were characterized using various techniques for its successful synthesis. GOMIP-A attained equilibrium within 10 min with adsorption capacity of 190.56 μmol g-1 for 4HA. Developed HPLC method depicted selective recovery of 77.23% and 62.83% 4HA from F&VP and PGP waste respectively by GOMIP-A. Subsequently, desorbed 4HA from GOMIP-A matrices exhibited the antioxidant potential of 33.53% (F&VP extract) and 47.97% (PGP extract) for DPPH radical. To valorise olive mill wastewater phenols (OPs) potentially applied in food preservation, a novel stable and regularly spherical OPs-AgNPs (Davg = 78 nm) were successfully assembled in aqueous solution under the optimized conditions (pH 8.0, 5 mM AgNO3, 35C and 30 min). The results of antimicrobial zone diameters indicated that 50 μg/mL of promising OPs-AgNPs presented excellent antimicrobial effects. Especially, the cell wall damages of E. coli ATCC 23,815 were caused when OPs-AgNPs concentration was exceeded its MIC (8.58 μg/mL). Also, a significant down-regulating of the Ca2+-ATPase activity in E. coli was revealed, and the intracellular Ca2+ concentrations were thus decreased from 12.5 to 1.35 µg/mL after a treatment for 3 h. The apoptosis level of E. coli was significantly increased more than the control (55.13% of OPs-AgNPs vs 9.90% of control). In sum, OPs exerts enhanced antimicrobial function via penetrating cell membrane and targeting Ca2+-ATPase after chelated with AgNPs.Temperature-dependent dissociation of human micellar β-casein regarding its phosphorylation degrees and micelle structures were studied. Human milk was fractionated at 25 °C into soluble (S-25 °C) and micellar (M-25 °C) fractions, and the latter was fractionated at 4 °C into soluble (S-4 °C) and micellar (M-4 °C) fractions. β-casein ratios among S-25 °C, S-4 °C and M-4 °C were 19%, 59% and 22%. β-casein isoforms were predominated by 0-P, 1-P and 2-P in S-25 °C, by 0-P, 1-P, 2-P and 4-P in S-4 °C, and by 0-P in M-4 °C. NVP-TNKS656 mouse For micelles remained after dissociation of β-casein and calcium, the size increased, molar mass decreased, morphologies were maintained, and internal protein inhomogeneities disappeared, compared with micelles in M-25 °C. β-casein isoforms with lower phosphorylation degrees may form a frame mainly through hydrophobic interactions, attached with more highly phosphorylated isoforms and colloidal calcium phosphate via calcium bridges for forming human micelle.Herein, a nanozyme-mediated ratiometric fluorescence immunoassay for histamine (HA) has been developed. Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBNPs) with outstanding peroxidase-like activity were labelled with goat anti-mouse IgG via a facile electrostatic adsorption to yield the nanozyme-antibody conjugate which acted as a bridge to link the ratiometric fluorescence readout with HA concentration. As substrate, o-phenylenediamine (OPD) was oxidized into 2,3-diaminophenazine (oxOPD) by H2O2 under the catalysis of PBNPs, producing a novel emission at 570 nm and quenching the fluorescence of carbon dots (CDs) at 450 nm simultaneously. Under optimal conditions, the ratio of fluorescence intensity at 570 nm and 450 nm (I570/I450) linearly correlated with HA concentration ranging from 1.6 ng/mL to 125 μg/mL, with a detection limit (LOD) of 1.2 ng/mL. In addition, analytical performances including specificity, accuracy and applicability were evaluated, which revealed that this ratiometric fluorescence immunoassay affords an effective platform for sensitive and accurate detection of HA.A green and facile hydrothermal synthesis approach is proposed for the preparation of nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) with wolfberry. These N-CQDs were developed as a highly sensitive fluorescent 'on-off-on' switch sensor for the sensing of Fe3+ and l-ascorbic acid (AA). The N-CQDs displayed superior fluorescence characteristics of CQDs with a quantum yield up to 22%. The N-CQDs were demonstrated to selectively react with Fe3+, leading to fluorescence quenching effect, which was successfully used for the detection of Fe3+ with a limit of detection at 3 μmoL•L-1. The addition of AA is supposed to repair the surface defects, and result in the fluorescence recovery. Based on this effect, the strategy of 'on-off-on' detection of AA was established with a limit of detection at 1.8 μmoL•L-1. Furthermore, the practical application of the detection of Fe3+ lake water and AA in medical tablet was demonstrated, promising an effective and efficient 'on-off-on' nanosensor with low-cost, green synthesis for Fe3+ and AA detection.Understanding the mechanisms leading to the multitude of newly-formed compounds generated during the thermal processing of food is important for the reasoned construction of quality. Thanks to a solid food model with a structure and technological history comparable to that of a real sponge cake and containing only known amounts of precursors (glucose with or without leucine), an adapted reaction scheme unravelling Maillard and caramelization reactions was built and then compared to experimental kinetic data measured on numerous reaction markers (precursors, α-dicarbonyl intermediates and furanic compounds). For caramelization, this study showed that glucose mainly formed 1,2-enediol and then fructose rather than glucosone and glyoxal. 5-hydroxymethylfurfural started to form when there were sufficient quantities of fructose, and 3,4-dideoxyoglucosone was not generated until after this step. Furfural was mainly formed via 3-deoxyglucosone. The involvement of leucine tended to accelerate the breakdown of sugars as more degradation pathways (via enaminols) were added.Ultrasmall Au nanoparticles (UsAuNPs) in the size range of 4.0-7.0 nm was successfully immobilized on the surface of 2D metalloporphyrinic metal-organic framework nanosheets (2D MOF). Firstly, The obtained hybrid nanomaterial, UsAuNPs/2D MOF, was fully characterized by TEM, HRTEM, element mapping images and XPS. Then, the peroxidase-like activity of UsAuNPs/2D MOF was comparatively studied with other hybrid nanozyme to explore the influence of AuNPs size on peroxidase-like activity. Further, UsAuNPs/2D MOF with outstanding peroxidase-like activity was selected to form ternary cascade enzyme reaction with acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and choline oxidase (ChOx). Based on the inhibitory effect of organophosphorus pesticides on AChE, a fast and sensitive colorimetric method was established for trichlorfon detection with the advantages of simple operation, low detection limit (1.7 μM), good linear range (1.7-42.4 μM) and high accuracy (recovery rate of 96.6-105.3%). Finally, this method was applied to visual analysis of trichlorfon concentration in tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants. At present, there are still some problems for the emulsification of polysaccharides such as lack of green, efficient and industrialized methods, lack of systematic and in-depth structure-activity relationship, and need of expanding its application scope. The physical, chemical and biological methods for improving the emulsifying of polysaccharides, the emulsifying properties and influencing factors of polysaccharides and application in food were reviewed herein. It was pointed out that the future research should focus on the effect of physical-biological synergistic function on the emulsification of polysaccharides, the effect of processing process on the structure and emulsification mechanism of polysaccharides, and further expanding the application field of polysaccharides with emulsification activity to improve the quality of products.Endogenous phenols play a significant role in delaying oil rancidity. In this study, the profile of 22 endogenous phenols was determined from tea seed oil by UPLC-MS/MS, of which 15 phenols were identified for the first time. Then seven phenols with high content and strong antioxidant capacity were selected to investigate interaction using the DPPH· and Rancimat. It was found that the interaction of combinations was inconsistent in different media. Combined quercetin + esculetin, caffeoyl tartaric acid + esculetin, caffeoyl tartaric acid + gentisic acid and esculetin + gentisic acid showed synergistic antioxidant effects in oil and ethanol systems. Moreover, through the evaluation of the lipid oxidation process, combined esculetin + gentisic acid exhibited the greatest synergistic antioxidant effect. Notably, combined quercetin + esculetin had an inhibitory effect on the formation of volatile compounds. These findings may provide a basis for explaining the oxidation stability of tea seed oil.
