Corrosion inhibitors 2,5-pyridinedicarboxilate (PDC), sodium metavanadate (SMV) and 5-aminosalicylate (AS) were impregnated into porous PEO coatings respectively via vacuuming process, followed by fast sealing treatment in a Ce containing solution. After that layered double hydroxides (LDHs) based nanocontainers were respectively prepared on them via hydrothermal treatment. In frame of this work it was shown, that sealing effect for the pore was provided by formation of new phase CeO2 on the surface of PEO coatings. And, hydrothermal preparation for preparing LDHs leaded obvious changes in structure and thickness of the coatings. In addition, impregnation of inhibitors was in favor of improving LDHs content in final composite coatings. EIS result indicated that AS/Ce-HT specimen exhibited a best corrosion protection. We investigate Friedmann-Lamaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) models with modified Chaplygin gas and cosmological constant, using dynamical system methods. We assume [Formula see text] as equation of state where [Formula see text] is the matter-energy density, p is the pressure, [Formula see text] is a parameter which can take on values [Formula see text] as well as A and [Formula see text] are positive constants. We draw the state spaces and analyze the nature of the singularity at the beginning, as well as the fate of the universe in the far future. selleck products In particular, we address the question whether there is a solution which is stable for all the cases.Recent advances in Quantum Machine Learning (QML) have provided benefits to several computational processes, drastically reducing the time complexity. Another approach of combining quantum information theory with machine learning-without involving quantum computers-is known as Quantum-inspired Machine Learning (QiML), which exploits the expressive power of the quantum language to increase the accuracy of the process (rather than reducing the time complexity). In this work, we propose a large-scale experiment based on the application of a binary classifier inspired by quantum information theory to the biomedical imaging context in clonogenic assay evaluation to identify the most discriminative feature, allowing us to enhance cell colony segmentation. This innovative approach offers a two-fold result (1) among the extracted and analyzed image features, homogeneity is shown to be a relevant feature in detecting challenging cell colonies; and (2) the proposed quantum-inspired classifier is a novel and outstanding methodology, compared to conventional machine learning classifiers, for the evaluation of clonogenic assays. As groups are increasingly taking over individual experts in many tasks, it is ever more important to understand the determinants of group success. In this paper, we study the patterns of group success in Escape The Room, a physical adventure game in which a group is tasked with escaping a maze by collectively solving a series of puzzles. We investigate (1) the characteristics of successful groups, and (2) how accurately humans and machines can spot them from a group photo. The relationship between these two questions is based on the hypothesis that the characteristics of successful groups are encoded by features that can be spotted in their photo. We analyze >43K group photos (one photo per group) taken after groups have completed the game-from which all explicit performance-signaling information has been removed. link= selleck products First, we find that groups that are larger, older and more gender but less age diverse are significantly more likely to escape. Second, we compare humans and off-the-shelf machine learning algorithms at predicting whether a group escaped or not based on the completion photo. We find that individual guesses by humans achieve 58.3% accuracy, better than random, but worse than machines which display 71.6% accuracy. When humans are trained to guess by observing only four labeled photos, their accuracy increases to 64%. However, training humans on more labeled examples (eight or twelve) leads to a slight, but statistically insignificant improvement in accuracy (67.4%). Humans in the best training condition perform on par with two, but worse than three out of the five machine learning algorithms we evaluated. Our work illustrates the potentials and the limitations of machine learning systems in evaluating group performance and identifying success factors based on sparse visual cues. With spring up of infrared imaging related industry, infrared imaging technology has become mainstream development direction of intelligent photoelectrical detection due to its good concealment, wide detection range, high positioning accuracy, long distant penetration, light weight, little volume, low power dissipation and high solidity. However, the features of infrared dim-small target image such as less details and low SNR become bottleneck of infrared image application. How to enhance imaging effect of infrared dim-small target becomes research hotspot. Starting from the point of 'restoration as foundation', the theory and technology of infrared dim-small target super-resolution restoration by utilizing the theory and technology of super-resolution restoration are explored in this paper. This paper mainly focuses on the research of super-resolution restoration algorithm of infrared dim-small target based on infrared micro-scanning optical model. Aiming at solving super-resolution restoration problem of infrared dim-small target, the traditional super-resolution restoration algorithm is optimized and the improved algorithm is proposed. Meanwhile, infrared micro-scanning optical model is introduced to break theoretical limit of simple image processing algorithm. And the performance of infrared image super-resolution restoration is improved.Traction force microscopy (TFM) is an important family of techniques used to measure and study the role of cellular traction forces (CTFs) associated with many biological processes. However, current standard TFM methods rely on imaging techniques that do not provide the experimental capabilities necessary to study CTFs within 3D collective and dynamic systems embedded within optically scattering media. Traction force optical coherence microscopy (TF-OCM) was developed to address these needs, but has only been demonstrated for the study of isolated cells embedded within optically clear media. Here, we present computational 4D-OCM methods that enable the study of dynamic invasion behavior of large tumor spheroids embedded in collagen. Our multi-day, time-lapse imaging data provided detailed visualizations of evolving spheroid morphology, collagen degradation, and collagen deformation, all using label-free scattering contrast. These capabilities, which provided insights into how stromal cells affect cancer progression, significantly expand access to critical data about biophysical interactions of cells with their environment, and lay the foundation for future efforts toward volumetric, time-lapse reconstructions of collective CTFs with TF-OCM.The piezochromic fluorescence (FL) of a distyrylpyrazine derivative, 2,3-diisocyano-5,6-distyrylpyrazine (DSP), was investigated in this study. link2 Depending on the recrystallization method, DSP afforded two different crystals with green and orange FL emission. selleck products The orange color FL emission crystal (O-form) was easily converted to the green color FL emission one (G-form) by manual grinding. The G-form was also converted to a slightly different orange color FL emission crystal (RO-form) by a weak UV irradiation. When the RO-form was ground again, the G-form was regenerated. The FL colors changed between the G- and RO-forms over several ten times by repeated mechanical grinding and UV irradiation. The FL, UV-visible, 1H-NMR and XRD results showed that the O (or RO)-to-G transformation induced by mechanical stress results from the change of degree of molecular stacking from dense molecular stacking structure to relatively loose molecular stacking structure, whereas the G-to-RO reconversion by UV irradiation results from return to dense molecular stacking structure again due to lattice movement (lattice slipping) allowed by photocycloaddition in solid-state.Northeast China is the leading grain production region in China where one-fifth of the national grain is produced; however, consistent and reliable crop maps are still unavailable, impeding crop management decisions for regional and national food security. Here, we produced annual 10-m crop maps of the major crops (maize, soybean, and rice) in Northeast China from 2017 to 2019, by using (1) a hierarchical mapping strategy (cropland mapping followed by crop classification), (2) agro-climate zone-specific random forest classifiers, (3) interpolated and smoothed 10-day Sentinel-2 time series data, and (4) optimized features from spectral, temporal, and texture characteristics of the land surface. link2 The resultant maps have high overall accuracies (OA) spanning from 0.81 to 0.86 based on abundant ground truth data. The satellite estimates agreed well with the statistical data for most of the municipalities (R2 ≥ 0.83, p  less then  0.01). This is the first effort on regional annual crop mapping in China at the 10-m resolution, which permits assessing the performance of the soybean rejuvenation plan and crop rotation practice in China. We introduce QM7-X, a comprehensive dataset of 42 physicochemical properties for ≈4.2 million equilibrium and non-equilibrium structures of small organic molecules with up to seven non-hydrogen (C, N, O, S, Cl) atoms. To span this fundamentally important region of chemical compound space (CCS), QM7-X includes an exhaustive sampling of (meta-)stable equilibrium structures-comprised of constitutional/structural isomers and stereoisomers, e.g., enantiomers and diastereomers (including cis-/trans- and conformational isomers)-as well as 100 non-equilibrium structural variations thereof to reach a total of ≈4.2 million molecular structures. link3 Computed at the tightly converged quantum-mechanical PBE0+MBD level of theory, QM7-X contains global (molecular) and local (atom-in-a-molecule) properties ranging from ground state quantities (such as atomization energies and dipole moments) to response quantities (such as polarizability tensors and dispersion coefficients). By providing a systematic, extensive, and tightly-converged dataset of quantum-mechanically computed physicochemical properties, we expect that QM7-X will play a critical role in the development of next-generation machine-learning based models for exploring greater swaths of CCS and performing in silico design of molecules with targeted properties.Poly-(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 and 2 (PARP1 and PARP2) are key enzymes in the DNA damage response. Four different inhibitors (PARPi) are currently in the clinic for treatment of ovarian and breast cancer. link3 Recently, histone PARylation Factor 1 (HPF1) has been shown to play an essential role in the PARP1- and PARP2-dependent poly-(ADP-ribosylation) (PARylation) of histones, by forming a complex with both enzymes and altering their catalytic properties. Given the proximity of HPF1 to the inhibitor binding site both PARPs, we hypothesized that HPF1 may modulate the affinity of inhibitors toward PARP1 and/or PARP2. Here we demonstrate that HPF1 significantly increases the affinity for a PARP1 - DNA complex of some PARPi (i.e., olaparib), but not others (i.e., veliparib). This effect of HPF1 on the binding affinity of Olaparib also holds true for the more physiologically relevant PARP1 - nucleosome complex but does not extend to PARP2. Our results have important implications for the interpretation of PARP inhibition by current PARPi as well as for the design and analysis of the next generation of clinically relevant PARP inhibitors.
