5 measured BMI. Lower BMI was not indicative of worse eating disorder symptomatology in models or nonmodels. Thus, using a low BMI cutoff ( less then 18.5) may not be an appropriate single index of health for detecting elevated eating disorder symptoms in models. Different policies to protect models' health should be considered.Individual negative symptoms have rarely been examined with regard to their relationship with suicide in schizophrenia, which continues to affect up to 13% of people with the disorder. Symptoms such as blunted affect, which can be an enduring hallmark of schizophrenia, may impact suicide through increasing isolation, leading to poor functional recovery and diminished quality of life. A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines and pre-registered on PROSPERO (CRD4219143373) was conducted; EMBASE, PsychInfo, and MedLine were searched until January 2020. Eight hundred and fifty-six articles were identified from the databases and 2 papers were identified from other resources. Twelve papers met inclusion criteria for the review. Nine out of twelve papers report a positive direct or indirect association between blunted affect and suicide in schizophrenia and three papers showed no association. The majority of included studies suggest that blunted affect may be indirectly related to suicide through risk factors such as emotional withdrawal, depressive symptoms, hopelessness, low self-esteem and negative evaluation. Future studies should include assessment of blunted affect as a potential mediator in the generation of suicidal behaviour in patients with such factors.Religious coping is prevalent among individuals diagnosed with psychotic disorders, however its clinical relevance has been insufficiently studied. Thirty ultra-Orthodox Jewish patients experiencing current psychotic symptoms and receiving treatment in the inpatient and day-care units were administered measures assessing severity of psychotic symptoms, psychological distress/well-being, beliefs about treatment credibility/expectancy, and aspects of religious belief and coping. Among men, negative religious coping was associated with lower treatment credibility. Among women, positive religious coping was associated with increased treatment expectancy and greater quality of life; and trust in God was associated with reduced psychiatric symptoms and greater treatment expectancy. Study findings indicate that religious factors may promote treatment motivation and engagement, crucial factors for subpopulations facing culturally-based barriers to treatment, as well as boost more favorable outcomes. Sensitivity to religious factors in treatment appears to play an important role in the management of psychotic disorders and should be engaged when culturally appropriate in order to maximize treatment potential.
Music therapy is based on the use of musical elements by a trained and qualified therapist. Clinical researches have suggested that children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) may benefit from MT. In this regard, this study examines if MT is more effective than simply listening to music for children with ASD.

A 8-month RCT has been carried out comparing music therapy (MT) to music listening (ML) for children with ASD aged from 4 to 7 years old. Thirty-seven participants were randomly assigned to one of the two groups (MT vs. ML). The outcome measures were the Clinical Global Impression (CGI), the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) and the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC) in each condition (MT and ML).

CGI scores decreased more for participants in the MT than in the ML condition. Novobiocin Antineoplastic and Immunosuppressive Antibiotics inhibitor This clinical improvement was associated with an improvement of autistic symptoms on lethargy and stereotypy ABC subscales.

Our findings suggest that music therapy is more efficient than music listening for children with ASD. The present study thus supports the consideration of MT as a rightful add-on to ASD healthcare programs.

The sample consisted of 209 married men and women in a heterosexual relationship. Participants were drawn from an online survey platform (Qualtrics, Provo, UT) that approximated the US population on age, race, and region of the country. Measures assessed husbands' (1) IWB, (2) weight stigma, (3) weight-related concerns/criticisms directed toward his wife, (4) relationship satisfaction, (5) sexual intimacy, (6) self-esteem, (7) depressive symptoms, and (8) perceived mate value. Husbands' weight stigma, IWB, weight-related concerns/criticisms, and perceived mate value were significantly associated with husbands' and wives' depressive symptoms, self-esteem, relationship satisfaction, and sexual intimacy. Structural equation modeling analyses revealed that husbands' weight stigma and IWB were indirectly linked to husbands' and wives' relationship satisfaction and sexual intimacy through weight-related concerns/criticisms and, to a lesser extent, perceived mate value. This investigation suggests that husbands' weight stigma, IWB, and other weight-related concerns/criticisms, suggestions, and mate perceptions are strongly associated with both husbands' and wives' psychological and relationship outcomes. In recent years, Australian researchers' interest in the use of performance and image-enhancing drugs (PIEDs) has grown, in part because PIEDs use is thought to be on the rise. In much existing research, PIED consumers are described as a new and unique cohort of service users, with distinct needs, expectations and views regarding service provision, harm reduction and risk. There is some evidence that policymakers and service providers have been unsure of how best to support this seemingly distinct cohort. Are their needs different to those of people who use other illicit drugs, or the same? How so? And how might we design services with these similarities and/or differences in mind? As these questions suggest, understandings of PIED use and our efforts to address it are often heavily reliant on comparisons, including between people who consume different kinds of drugs. This article engages with the central role of these comparisons in shaping understandings of PIED-related service delivery and design, and considers what is at stake in the drawing of comparisons.
