A signal-enhanced LFIA based on tyramine (TYR)-induced AuNPs aggregation has been developed for the sensitive detection of danofloxacin (DAN). In the model, the hydroxyl radical produced by HRP catalyzing H2O2 can trigger the TYR-AuNPs to aggregate on the T or C line for enhancing the detection signal. The linear range of TYR-AuNPs LFIA was 0.25-5 ng mL-1 with the limit of detection (LOD) of 0.032 ng mL-1, and the LOD was 8-fold lower than that of the traditional AuNPs LFIA (0.26 ng mL-1). The TYR-AuNPs LFIA could be used with the naked eyes to qualitatively detect DAN with a cut-off limit of 2.5 ng mL-1, which was 4-fold lower than that of the traditional AuNPs LFIA (10 ng mL-1). The recoveries of TYR-AuNPs LFIA were 86.04-105.14% and 92.41-110.19%, with the coefficient of variation of 1.71-2.05% and 4.42-5.89% in chicken and pork, respectively.A method using UPLC-MS/MS and a core-shell C18 column was developed to simultaneously determine 21 heterocyclic amines (HAs) in 15 min. Appropriate QuEChERS conditions were also established to conveniently extract HAs from soy products cooked with various methods. These conditions presented good analytical performance; limit of detection, limit of quantification, recovery (%), repeatability (coefficient of variation (CV) %) and intermediate precision (CV%) were 0.008 ∼ 0.150 ng/g, 0.025 ∼ 0.500 ng/g, 62 ∼ 91%, ≤ 28% and ≤ 23% for tofu sample, and 0.003 ∼ 0.100 ng/g, 0.010 ∼ 0.350 ng/g, 64 ∼ 93%, ≤ 19% and ≤ 20% for soy milk sample, respectively. HAs contents in the samples increased with cooking temperature and time. The tofu samples cooked by frying had much higher HAs content than those cooked by boiling and roasting. Norharman and Harman mainly contributed HAs content in all samples. For the general population in Taiwan, the highest estimated level of HAs consumed from the samples is 373.67 ng/day.Fruits and vegetables are highly perishable in nature. Several factors could affect the quality and shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Packaging materials (usually made up of polymers, proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, etc.,) are incorporated with essential oil (EO) which is high in antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds that can enhance the shelf life of fruits and vegetables without affecting their quality. However, the use of EO for postharvest preservation can alter the organoleptic properties of fresh produce. Exploiting synergistic interactions between several EOs, encapsulation of EO, or combining EO with non-thermal techniques such as irradiation, UV-C, cold plasma, ultrasound, etc., may help in preventing the spoilage of food products at lower concentrations without altering their organoleptic properties. This review aims to discuss the overview and current scenario of packaging film with EO for the preservation of fruit and vegetables. We have also discussed the spoilage mechanism of fruits and vegetables, mode of action of EOs, and the effect of EO with packaging film on antimicrobial and sensory properties of fruits and vegetables. The reflectance NIR spectroscopy and chemometric data treatment on mature intact lemons, Limone di Sorrento PGI (cv Ovale di Sorrento) and Limone Costa D'Amalfi PGI (cv Sfusato Amalfitano) from Campania region, collected in 2018 and 2019, were used to predict properties, and discriminate cultivar and geographical provenance. By PCA, lemon NIR spectra grouped for production years due to the year variation of lemon properties attributable to annual climatic differences, homogeneous in all sites. This agrees with lemon chemical and physical differences by production year. Consequently, the relationship of NIR spectra with lemon quality properties by MLR and the cultivar and provenances discrimination by LDA were affected by year climatic difference; therefore, better model reliability was for single production year. NIR detectability of lemon properties did not appear beyond lemon thick peels, therefore the measured properties of lemon juices could derive from measurable properties of peel correlating with pulp properties.
Optimal treatment of bicondylar plateau fractures is still a matter of debate. Accelerometer-measured physical activity levels may help us to obtain objective information regarding the quality of life of patients. The aim of this study was to compare the physical activity levels, objective and subjective functional results and stabilities of fixations of patients with treated bicondylar plateau fractures.

In this cross-sectional study of 23 patients, accelerometer-measured physical activity levels, daily energy consumption and measurements of knee joint range of motion (ROM) and muscle strength were measured. While Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) was used as a patient-reported outcome measurement, Rasmussen Radiological Score was used for radiological evaluation.

There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of physical activity levels and daily energy consumption (P=0.667). While Total KOOS, Symptom and Stiffness and Sports Activities scores were higher in patientsue and the fracture geometry are also effective in the decision-making process, single plating seems to be a valid surgical option in the treatment of bicondylar plateau fractures.
Antigen-detecting rapid diagnostic tests (Ag-RDTs) for SARS-CoV-2 are important diagnostic tools. We assessed clinical performance and ease-of-use of seven Ag-RDTs in a prospective, manufacturer-independent, multi-centre cross-sectional diagnostic accuracy study to inform global decision makers.

Unvaccinated participants suspected of a first SARS-CoV-2 infection were recruited at six sites (Germany, Brazil). Ag-RDTs were evaluated sequentially, with collection of paired swabs for routine reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing and Ag-RDT testing. Performance was compared to RT-PCR overall and in sub-group analyses (viral load, symptoms, symptoms duration). To understandusability a System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire and ease-of-use (EoU) assessment were performed.

7471 participants were included in the analysis. Sensitivities across Ag-RDTs ranged from 70·4%-90·1%, specificities were above 97·2% for all Ag-RDTs but one (93·1%).Ag-RDTs, Mologic, Bionote, Standard Q, showed of Science, Research and Arts, State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, internal funds from Heidelberg University Hospital, University Hospital Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, UK Department of International Development, WHO, Unitaid.
We aimed to understand the relationship between serum biomarker concentration and lesion type and volume found on computed tomography (CT) following all severities of TBI.

Concentrations of six serum biomarkers (GFAP, NFL, NSE, S100B, t-tau and UCH-L1) were measured in samples obtained <24 hours post-injury from 2869 patients with all severities of TBI, enrolled in the CENTER-TBI prospective cohort study (NCT02210221). Imaging phenotypes were defined as intraparenchymal haemorrhage (IPH), oedema, subdural haematoma (SDH), extradural haematoma (EDH), traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage (tSAH), diffuse axonal injury (DAI), and intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH). Multivariable polynomial regression was performed to examine the association between biomarker levels and both distinct lesion types and lesion volumes. Hierarchical clustering was used to explore imaging phenotypes; and principal component analysis and k-means clustering of acute biomarker concentrations to explore patterns of biomarker clusterinhours of TBI is primarily related to severity of injury and intracranial disease burden, rather than pathoanatomical type of injury.

Erythrocytosis is a hematological disorder usually related to hematopoietic stem cell somatic mutations. However, unexplained erythrocytosis remains frequent. In this study, we evaluated the involvement of IgA1, a regulator of erythropoiesis also implicated in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) pathophysiology, in unexplained polycythemia/erythrocytosis (PE) of IgAN patients.

IgAN-PE patients' serum was collected, analyzed and used to study IgA1 effect on proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitors. Hematological parameters of transgenic mice for human alpha1 heavy chain were studied. Multicentric observational cohorts of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, including both native kidney diseases and renal transplants, were studied to analyze patient hemoglobin levels.

We retrospectively identified 6 patients with IgAN and unexplained PE. DLin-KC2-DMA clinical trial In large CKD cohorts, IgAN was associated with PE in 3.5% of patients (p<0.001 compared to other nephropathies). IgAN was an independent factor associated with Paris, France).Positive body image is a multidimensional construct consisting of various facets including body appreciation, body image flexibility, and functionality appreciation measured via the Body Appreciation Scale-2 (BAS-2), Body Image-Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-5 (BI-AAQ-5), and Functionality Appreciation Scale (FAS), respectively. Research has supported the unidimensional factor structure of these measures; however, invariance testing based on sexual identity has yet to be conducted. The study's primary aim was to assess the measurement invariance of the BAS-2, BI-AAQ-5, and FAS between sexual minority and heterosexual women. The secondary aim was to assess the psychometric properties of each positive body image measure among each sample. Participants were predominantly White, cisgender women who identified as a sexual minority (n = 310) or heterosexual (n = 360) and completed online questionnaires of positive body image, eating behaviors, and mental and physical health. Results supported invariance with no differences in BAS-2 or BI-AAQ-5 scores. A significant difference with a small effect size was found in FAS scores, with sexual minority women reporting lower FAS scores. Findings supported the BI-AAQ-5 and FAS's incremental validity on perceived mental health. Overall, results suggest that the BAS-2, BI-AAQ-5, and FAS scores can be compared among women of varying sexual identities. Most routine 1H NMR spectroscopy references the chemical shift of TMS to zero. However, its chemical shift varies with solvent and environmental conditions. Chemical shifts and magnetic susceptibilities of TMS and several NMR solvents are accurately measured over a range of temperatures. Methods for improving the measurements of chemical shifts and magnetic susceptibilities are developed and demonstrated. This makes it possible to compare chemical shifts of compounds between solvents, improving the accuracy of solvent effect measurements. The effects of polarizability and aromaticity on the chemical shift of TMS are shown. The molar magnetic susceptibilities of the deuterated solvents are similar to those of the regular protiated solvents. The 3J coupling values are commonly used in biomolecular NMR to extract structural information. Here we present a novel intra HNCA IP/AP E.COSY pulse sequence that allows to measure 3J HNHa coupling constants by a simple and rapid two-dimensional 1H-15N correlation experiment where the 15N frequency is encoded at the same time as the 1J HaCa coupling evolution. The advantage with respect to the conventional 3D HNCA E.COSY pulse sequence is the dimensionality reduction to a simple 2D experiment, which decreases acquisition time and facilitates data analysis. The performance of this new experiment is demonstrated with an ubiquitin sample at 500 MHz.
