Intracardiac hypostasis is frequently observed in postmortem computed tomography (PMCT) of acute deaths, and it becomes clearer as the postmortem interval increases. To determine the postcardiac arrest interval (PCAI), we evaluated densities of the right and left atria [anterior part of the right atrium (AR) and posterior part of the left atrium (PL)] using postmortem computed tomographic images.

A total of 184 patients were included in the study. Patients with return of spontaneous circulation and those with final alive confirmation time over 1 hour were excluded. We evaluated the density of AR and PL at the level of the right inferior pulmonary vein entry to the left atrium. We defined the interval between the estimated cardiac arrest time and the postmortem CT time as the PCAI.

There was a negative correlation between AR and PCAI in 59 patients who died owing to cardiovascular disease. The regression equation (PCAI = -1.725 × AR + 132.95) was obtained based on this result. There was no correlation between PL and PCAI.

The result suggests that the density of the anterior part of the right atrium decreases as postcardiac arrest interval increases in the case of cardiovascular disease. The regression equation may be used as an additional method to estimate postcardiac arrest interval.

However, the clinical presentation of IEAGN differs from that of other infection-related glomerulonephritis (IRGN) with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) positivity occurring in almost one-third of cases; therefore, it may be difficult to establish a definitive diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment. This review article provides a comprehensive understanding of the clinical presentation, investigations, histopathology, and treatment/management of IEAGN so that clinicians can keep this differential in mind for patients with fever of unknown origin accompanied by signs and symptoms of acute renal failure.
During the early phase of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic, health care workers had elevated levels of psychological distress. Historical exposure to disease outbreak may shape different pandemic responses among experienced health care workers.

Considering the unique experience of the 2003 SARS outbreak in Hong Kong, this study examined the association between prior epidemic work experience and anxiety levels, and the mediating role of perceived severity of COVID-19 and SARS in nurses.

In March 2020, a cross-sectional survey targeting practising nurses in Hong Kong was conducted during the early phase of the COVID-19 epidemic. The interrelationships among participants' work experience during the SARS outbreak, perceived severity of SARS and COVID-19, and anxiety level were elucidated using structural equation model (SEM).

Of 1,061 eligible nurses, a majority were female (90%) with a median age of 39 years (IQR=32-49). A significant and negative indirect association was identified betweshould be considered when an epidemic commences. Interventions aiming to facilitate the understanding of emerging virus should also be in place.Trichoderma isolates were collected from moist soils near a water source in different areas of China. ITS sequences were submitted to MIST (Multiloci Identification System for Trichoderma) and meets the Trichoderma [ITS76] standard. Combined analyses of phylogenetic analyses of both phylograms (tef1-α and rpb2) and morphological characteristics, revealed five new species of Trichoderma, namely Trichodermahailarense, T.macrofasciculatum, T.nordicum, T.shangrilaense and T.vadicola. Phylogenetic analyses showed T.macrofasciculatum and T.shangrilaense belong to the Polysporum clade, T.hailarense, while T.nordicum and T.vadicola belong to the Viride clade. Each new taxon formed a distinct clade in phylogenetic analysis and have unique sequences of tef1-α and rpb2 that meet the Trichoderma new species standard. The conidiation of T.macrofasciculatum typically appeared in white pustules in concentric rings on PDA or MEA and its conidia had one or few distinctly verrucose. Conidiophores of T.shangrilaense are short and rarely branched, phialides usually curved and irregularly disposed. The aerial mycelium of T.hailarense and T.vadicola formed strands to floccose mat, conidiation tardy and scattered in tufts, conidiophores repeatedly rebranching in dendriform structure. The phialides of T.nordicum lageniform are curved on PDA and its conidia are globose to obovoidal and large.Souss-Massa National Park (SMNP) is Morocco's first coastal national park, created to preserve the high diversity of its continental and marine environments. Reptiles play an essential role in balancing SMNP ecosystems, yet little work has been done to study this fauna. The present work aims at providing the first reptile inventory of SMNP since its establishment in 1991. During the period 2019 to 2020, several field surveys were carried out at 30 sites using time-constrained visual encounter surveys (TCVES), with a total sampling effort of 300 person-hours. An inventory of 23 reptile species (including four endemic species) was obtained by combining TCVES results with additional data recorded during random encounters or provided by SMNP researchers. Based on TCVES data, both sampling effort and inventory completeness were evaluated by constructing sample-based accumulation curves and calculating non-parametric estimators (Chao 1, Chao 2, Jackknife 1 and Jackknife 2). These species richness estimators suggest that the current inventory is likely to be complete. Despite its small surface area, SMNP contains nearly 20% of all known Moroccan reptile species and constitutes an important biodiversity hotspot for reptiles in the Mediterranean Region. In terms of reptile conservation concern, five species in SMNP are classified as "vulnerable", while two species are classified as "near threatened" on the IUCN Red List, underscoring the importance of protected areas for those species.
In the framework of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) Expedion JR 15005 SO-AntEco, held in February-March 2016, the South Orkney Islands seafloor was sampled in order to investigate the distribution and composition of benthic communities around the area.

is characterised by acrogenous, solitary, oval, dictyospores (most are transverse septum, occasionally vertical septum, in immaturity the septum is clear, but when mature, the conidia becomes darker so the septum is not clear), smooth-walled conidia. The immature conidia are usually hyaline to olivaceous and mature conidia are usually darkened to black, sometimes with one pale basal cell. Phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS and LSU sequence data showed that the new collection is distinct from other

Phylogenetic resolution of species relationships in Hypochilus has been challenging, and conserved morphology coupled with extreme genetic divergence has led to uncertain species limits in some complexes. Here, Hypochilus interspecies relationships have been reconstructed and cryptic speciation more critically evaluated using a combination of ultraconserved elements, mitochondrial CO1 by-catch, and morphology. Phylogenomic data strongly support the monophyly of regional clades and support a ((California, Appalachia), southern Rocky Mountains) topology. In Appalachia, five species are resolved as four lineages (H.thorelli Marx, 1888 and H.coylei Platnick, 1987 are clearly sister taxa), but the interrelationships of these four lineages remain unresolved. The Appalachian species H.pococki Platnick, 1987 is recovered as monophyletic but is highly genetically structured at the nuclear level. While algorithmic analyses of nuclear data indicate many species (e.g., all H.pococki populations as species), male morphology instead reveals striking stasis. Within the California clade, nuclear and mitochondrial lineages of H.petrunkevitchi Gertsch, 1958 correspond directly to drainage basins of the southern Sierra Nevada, with H.bernardino Catley, 1994 nested within H.petrunkevitchi and sister to the southernmost basin populations. Combining nuclear, mitochondrial, geographical, and morphological evidence a new species from the Tule River and Cedar Creek drainages is described, Hypochilusxomote sp. nov. We also emphasize the conservation issues that face several microendemic, habitat-specialized species in this remarkable genus. The newly described horned iguanaIguanainsularis from the southern Lesser Antilles is separated in two easily recognized subspecies I.insularissanctaluciae from St. Lucia and I.insularisinsularis from the Grenadines. Its former description is completed by the use of 38 new samples for genetic and morphological analysis. Seventeen microsatellites were used to estimate genetic diversity, population structure and the level of introgression with other Iguana species over nearly the whole range of the species. ND4 and PAC sequences were also used to better characterize hybridization and to complete the description of this lineage. The I.insularis population of St. Vincent shows a high level of introgression from I.iguana whereas in the Grenadines, most islands present pure insularis populations but several show evidence of introgressions. Of the two remaining populations of I.insularissanctaluciae, only one is still purebred. The recent identification of this and other distinct insular species and subspecies in the eastern Caribbean, and evaluation of where hybridization has occurred, are timely and important because the native iguanas are in urgent need of conservation action.
