Herein, a green deep eutectic solvent (DES) system based on choline chloride (ChCl) and citric acid (CA) is employed to pretreat cellulose fibers for the preparation of CNFs. However, the data analysis is challenging because of the signal overlap in the 1H homonuclear correlation spectra. We attempted to explore a general strategy for the structural determination of carbohydrates by combined multi-dimensional spectroscopies. The strategy was applied to a human milk oligosaccharide lacto-N-difucohexaose I, that has been previously studied by conventional two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy. Assignment of the intra-residue resonances of the hexasaccharide using the three-dimensional spectrum was straightforward. Consequently, data analysis of the multi-dimensional spectra was significantly simplified, leading to a quicker determination of the intra- and inter-residue connections in the hexasaccharide. Bevacizumab, an anti-VEGF drug, is the most commonly used off level drug for diabetic retinopathy (DR). The present study was to evaluate the chitosan-coated poly (lactide-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (CS-PLGA NPs) for sustained and effective delivery of bevacizumab to posterior ocular tissues. The penetration of NP through sclera was studied by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). For pharmacokinetic study, bevacizumab loaded NPs were administered into the rat eye through subconjunctival injection (SCJ) and pharmacokinetic parameters were compared to drug solution. CLSM and pharmacokinetic study showed better penetration of formulation and higher concentration of bevacizumab in posterior ocular tissues. In retinopathy model, CS-PLGA NPs by SCJ route showed more reduction of VEGF level in retina than the topical and intravitreal administration of formulation. Thus, CS-coated PLGA NPs can be potentially useful as carriers to target retina.Circadian disruption-induced metabolic syndrome (CDIMS) involves body weight gain, changes in blood profile and gut microbiota. In this study, CDIMS was induced by shifted light dark cycle (SLDC) in C57BL/6J mice. Dietary intervention by oral administration of oat β-glucan (a polymeric prebiotic) alleviated CDIMS when compared to chicory inulin/fructan (an oligomeric prebiotic) and melatonin (a chronobiotic). Oat β-glucan reversed the increase in body weight, liver weight-to-body weight ratio and plasma leptin concentration as well as restored glucose tolerance. In altering gut microbiota, oat β-glucan increased the species richness, reversed the populations of 7 bacterial genera and increased butyrate producers including Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae which enhance gut barrier protection and regulate glucose homeostasis. Correlation analysis demonstrated the linking of the alleviation of CDIMS by prebiotics and melatonin with different microbial metabolic pathways involved in energy metabolism, biosynthesis of metabolites, metabolism of cofactors and vitamins and endocrine synthesis.This paper aims at providing a new strategy for developing konjac glucomannan-based antibacterial films with excellent performances. Here, novel nanocomposite films based on photodynamic and photothermal synergism strategy were developed by incorporating graphite carbon nitride nanosheets/MoS2 nanodots (CNMo) into konjac glucomannan (KGM) matrix. Scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, high resolution transmission, high angle annular dark field and element mapping confirmed the successful fabrication of CNMo. The steady and dynamic rheological behavior as well as the good stability of film-forming solution showed that the intermolecular hydrogen bonding was formed. The influences of CNMo content on the structural, mechanical and thermal properties as well as hydrophobicity of KGM films were investigated. This film has a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It could prolong the shelf life of cherry tomatoes. Moreover, hemolysis and cells experiment confirm that this film is safe. This strategy is expected to broaden the application of antibacterial packaging.
