Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) is characterized by dismal prognosis and resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy. The immune checkpoint inhibitors showed promising efficacy in the treatment of PSC. Camrelizumab is a programmed cell death protein 1 inhibitor; however, current evidence of its efficacy in PSC is lacking.

A 47-year-old female non-smoker presented with central-type masses in the right upper and lower lobes. PSC (cT4N2M0, stage IIIB) with positive expression of programmed death ligand-1 was diagnosed. First-line camrelizumab plus doxorubicin and cisplatin was introduced, followed by camrelizumab monotherapy due to grade 4 leukopenia and thrombocytopenia during the combination therapy. The lesions indicated a partial remission which endured for more than 20months.

Camrelizumab plus doxorubicin and cisplatin regimen is a promising option for PSC patients. Further high-quality trials are warranted.

The aim of this study was to compare the prevalence of potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) and potential prescribing omissions (PPOs) in elderly Chinese patients identified by the Screening Tool of Older Persons' Prescriptions/Screening Tool to Alert to Right Treatment (STOPP/START) version 2 (v2) and version 1 (v1). The secondary objective was to analyse the risk factors associated with the PIMs/PPOs.

This was a retrospective cross-sectional study, and all patients were aged ≥65years and discharged from internal medical wards of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital in December 2018. STOPP/START v2 and STOPP/START v1 were used to detect PIMs/PPOs. The concordance between the two versions was calculated using kappa tests. A logistic regression analysis was carried out to determine variables independently associated with PIM/PPO use.

In the 662 patients included, the median age was 73years and 361 were male (54.53%). PIMs were present in 36.1% and 47.7% of participants according to the STOPP v1 and STOPP v2 aged internal medical ward inpatients in China, which was associated with various correlates. The STOPP/START v2 had a higher detection rate than v1.

This study compared the quality of life/stress between individuals undergoing homologous and heterologous medically assisted reproduction (MAR) and explored the role of psychopathological traits.

Two hundred and twenty-six participants in homologous (52.2%) and heterologous MAR (47.8%) completed Symptom Checklist 90-R, Fertility Problem Inventory, and Fertility Quality of Life.

The homologous group showed higher depressive/anxious and obsessive-compulsive traits, hostility and interpersonal detachment, and worse quality of life/stress than the heterologous one. In the homologous pathway, those with higher interpersonal detachment showed worse quality of life, in the heterologous one those with greater paranoid traits had greater stress.

Oral nutrition is delivered frequently in intensive care units (ICUs) but rarely studied. The primary objective of this study was to quantify nutrition intakes in patients exclusively orally fed (OF) and in those receiving medical nutrition solutions or both.

Adults who stayed in a mixed ICU for ≥3 days were studied. Nutrition deficits were calculated as the difference between estimated energy or protein targets (determined by weight-based formulas) and actual intakes (recorded on a daily basis by nurses). Total volumes of enteral or parenteral nutrition solutions, propofol, and glucose infused over 24hours were collected and energy and protein amounts were calculated. In OF patients, food intake at each meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) was estimated using the "one-quarter portion" method.
