Fresh multi-marker proteomics throughout phenotypically harmonized individuals with ST-segment myocardial infarction: association with clinical final results.
Sleep disorders have been verified to be associated with adverse health outcomes. Recent studies have linked ambient air pollution to sleep disorders. However, evidence with large sample size and especially prospective studies is very limited.

We used data from a prospective cohort study established from 2015 to 2018 in Ningbo, China. Participants were followed-up after baseline survey through linkage to the regional Health Information System (HIS). Sleep disorders were defined based on International Classification of Disease 10 (ICD-10). Spatial-temporal land-use regression (LUR) models were used to estimate the annual exposure to particulate matter with diameter ≤2.5µm (PM
), ≤10µm (PM
) and nitrogen dioxides (NO
). The associations between long-term exposure to air pollutants and prevalence of sleep disorders were examined using logistic regression models, and Cox regression models for the effects of air pollution on the incidence of sleep disorders. A generalized weighted quantile sum (gWQS) regresosure to PM2.5, PM10 and NO2 were associated with increased risk of sleep disorders in a Chinese population. Our findings could provide evidence for a more general role in the adverse health impact of air pollution.Recently, fragrance ingredients have attracted increasing attention due to their imperceptible risks accompanying the comfortable feeling. To understand transformation mechanisms and toxicity evolution of benzyl formate (BF) in environment, its photochemical degradation in water was thoroughly studied herein. Results showed that 83.5% BF was degraded under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation for 30 min. Laser flash photolysis and quenching experiments demonstrated that triplet excited state (3BF*), O2•-, and 1O2 were three main reactive species found during BF photodegradation. Eight degradation intermediates, including benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, o-cresol, bibenzyl, benzyl ether, 1,2-diphenylethanol, benzoic acid, and benzylhemiformal, were mainly formed as identified by LC-Q-TOF/MS and GC-MS analyses. Furthermore, the degradation mechanism was explained as the bond cleavage of 3BF* and BF•+, O2•-/1O2 oxidation, eaq- reduction, and •OH addition reactions. Aquatic assessment suggests that except benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid, and benzylhemiformal, all the products were persistent and could result in increased aquatic toxicity compared to original BF. Consequently, these degradation products may cause more toxicity to organisms if they remain accumulated in water environment for a long time. The association between internal cadmium exposure and chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been investigated before. However, few studies have shown the association between dietary cadmium intake and CKD. G140 In this study, we show the association between life-time dietary cadmium intake and CKD based on a follow-up study. At baseline, we collected blood and urine samples for assays of cadmium and renal effect biomarkers. A questionnaire and food survey was given to each subject to collect diet and lifestyle information for the estimation of cadmium intake. Dietary cadmium, cadmium in blood and urine were regarded as exposure markers. Life-time dietary cadmium intake was estimated based on an individual's daily cadmium intake and exposure time. At follow-up, 467 persons (163 men and 304 women) were finally included. CKD at follow-up was considered if the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m2. The eGFR level in subjects in the highest quartile of total dietary cadmium intake (>9.34 g) was significantly lower than in those with a moderate or low intake (p 2.2 g) was higher than in those with a low intake (odds ratio (OR) = 18.16, 95%CI 1.75-188.85). A similar association was found between the baseline urinary albumin (UALB) level and CKD incidence. A predictive model based on UALB and life-time dietary cadmium intake showed an acceptable performance (the area under the curve was 0.77 (95%CI 0.65-0.88)). Our data show that high dietary cadmium exposure was associated with CKD after controlling for renal tubular dysfunction and internal cadmium exposure.Effective management of municipal solid waste (MSW) is essential for the conservation of ecosystems in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP). Considering the landfill is the major method of MSW management, the factors influencing groundwater contamination near MSW landfill sites in the QTP were studied, based on field investigations, environmental impact assessment, and meteorological and hydrogeological analyses. Results indicated that the groundwater was contaminated heavily by nitrate (PI = 7.5), particularly in the landfill without an anti-seepage system, followed by nitrite (PI = 3.5) and heavy metals including arsenic (PI = 4.1) and hexavalent chromium (PI = 2.8). Total hardness, total dissolved solids, nitrate, and lead in the groundwater near the investigated landfill sites were significantly different between the monsoon and the cold seasons. Both the rainfall infiltration and the leachate infiltration were considerably limited by environmental characteristics in the QTP, including high evaporation, low rainfall, and the presence of permafrost. Soil sample contamination near landfill sites was considered as moderate (28.6% of the soil samples) and moderate to heavy (71.4% of the soil samples), based on the geoaccumulation index of mercury. However, comparatively low generation and concentrations of leachate and good topsoil quality (PI = 0.84) reduced the quantity of pollutants infiltrating into the groundwater. The alkaline leachate (pH = 7.45-9.23) and soil (pH = 7.08-8.72) also considerably decreased the concentrations of contaminants dissolved in the infiltrated rainfall and leachate. Additionally, low groundwater level can delay preferential flow and enhance attenuation. Therefore, the groundwater contamination near the landfill sites was simply point pollution, which was influenced by leachate, soil, climate, and hydrogeology characteristics in the QTP. The anti-seepage system is a potential strategy for use in the prevention of groundwater contamination by MSW landfills in the QTP.
