The Typical Beliefs Questionnaire (TBQ) assesses common grief-related cognitions, which demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties in a treatment-seeking sample with prolonged grief disorder (PGD). Chinese shidu parents (bereaved parents over the age of 49 who have lost their only child) are at a high risk of PGD. The current study aimed to examine psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the TBQ (TBQ-C) in a community sample of shidu parents with and without PGD, to compare this to the original validation clinical sample in the United States bereaved of any close relationship and to consider its use as a clinical tool. We examined the rate of positive endorsement, factor structure, internal consistency and validity of the TBQ-C in 310 community-based shidu parents (including 102 who met the criteria for PGD). Results showed that the rate of positive endorsement for each item ranged from 7.2% to 48.6% among non-PGD participants and from 20.6% to 92.2% among PGD participants. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the original five-factor structure fit both the non-PGD and PGD shidu parents. The TBQ-C showed acceptable internal consistency and satisfactory convergent and concurrent validity in both groups. It had good discriminant validity and can be helpful in distinguishing shidu parents with and without PGD. The TBQ-C can be used to investigate common grief-related beliefs that may be problematic for both shidu parents with and without PGD.The adsorption and orientations of 2-(trichloroacetyl)pyrrole (TCAP) adsorbed on a fabricated silver-coated thin film (SCF), and gold-coated thin film (GCF) were investigated using surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) studies and compared with the normal Raman scattering (nRs) spectrum of TCAP. The observed nRs and SERS spectra of TCAP were validated theoretically using DFT quantum chemical calculations. Initially, the molecular structure of TCAP, TCAP-Ag3 , and TCAP-Au4 molecular systems were optimized and analyzed. The fabricated SCF and GCF are characterized using FESEM analysis, which confirms that the silver and gold nanoparticles of the corresponding films are spherical in shape. The obtained significant red-shift in UV-visible spectra of TCAP added on SCF and GCF surfaces reveal that the TCAP strongly adsorbed on SCF and GCF surfaces. The frontier molecular orbitals analysis authenticates the charge-transfer interaction from Ag3 and Au4 metal clusters to the TCAP molecule, leading to the adsorption of TCAP molecule on Ag3 and Au4 metal clusters, which validates the UV-vis results. SERS spectral analysis confirms that the TCAP chemisorbed on SCF and GCF surfaces with tilted orientation and the corresponding results were validated theoretically. The calculated SERS enhancement factor values illustrate that the GCF surface exhibits a higher SERS signal enhancement than the SCF surface. Therefore, the present investigation will be useful for the development of active SERS substrates and pyrrole-related biosensors.
Although attention has been devoted to social supports provided by parents and siblings of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), much less is known about supports provided by the spouses of these siblings-the so-called siblings-in-law. This study examined the role of the sibling-in-law in the social support networks of their brother/sister-in-law with IDD and factors associated with providing greater amounts of tangible, informational and emotional support.
Siblings-in-law of adults with IDD living predominately in the United States (N=99) participated in a cross-sectional survey. Measures covered demographic and family background, perspectives towards having a brother/sister-in-law with IDD, supports provided and characteristics of the adult with IDD's social support network.
Most siblings-in-law reported providing support to their brother/sister-in-law with IDD. Percentages of siblings-in-law providing support were similar to that of the spouse and the spouse's family in the area of emotional support and similar to percentages of paid professionals in tangible and informational supports. Across all three support types, the main predictor of increased sibling-in-law support levels was a decreased ability of the parents-in-law to care for their child with IDD. Other predictors (e.g. distance from brother/sister-in-law with IDD and disability 'insider' status) varied by support type.

The aim of the present study was to examine the relationships between loneliness, quality of life and the factors that may be related to the quality of life in individuals ≥65 years old living in rural areas of Turkey.
The World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument Older Adults Module (WHOQOL OLD) and Loneliness Scale for the Elderly (LSE) was administered to 427 elderly participants. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the variables that affected QOL.
The results of the multivariate linear regression analyses indicated that gender, marital status, education level, family income status, general health condition, living arrangement, and loneliness level for subdomains were within the predictors. Loneliness level had the strongest negative impact on the four WHOQOL OLD subdomains and total WHOQOL OLD score. It was the most important predictor for autonomy, past present future activities, social participation, death-and-dying, and intimacy subdomains and for the total QOL.
Remarkably, a sense of loneliness in the elderly was determined to be the most important factor for predicting their QOL. Loneliness should be considered in attempts to improve QOL for the elderly, interventions to reduce loneliness should specifically target this group, and activities with the potential to increase QOL should be encouraged.

The use of Pd@PS, oxalic acid as CO source, and aryl halides was first explored for the aryl ester of 5-HMF synthesis. Here, we investigated the vital role of a polystyrene support to avoid the commonly known decarbonylation of 5-HMF. Previous studies validating the transdermal alcohol concentration (TAC) as measured by the Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitors Continuous Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM-CAM) have tested the monitor against self-reports or breath alcohol concentration (BrAC). This study aims to provide further evidence of the reliability of the SCRAM-CAM testing two monitors in parallel.
Participants (N=21) received four standard drinks in a laboratory session while wearing SCRAM-CAMs simultaneously on their left and right ankles. The SCRAM-CAMs sampled TAC every 30 min and participants were monitored for at least 2-3h after their BrAC levels reached zero. Weight and height measures were taken to calculate body mass index (BMI).
There was a positive correlation between the TAC measurements from the left and right SCRAM-CAM (r=0.718), a cross-correlation model revealed that this correlation was not significantly different for sex or BMI. Area under the TAC curve (AUC) and peak TAC values as measured by the left and right SCRAM-CAM also show positive correlations (r=0.554 and r=0.579, respectively). Cross-correlation models show a significant effect of BMI on the relationship between left and right peak TAC values, which may be due to outlier effects. No further effects were significant for on both peak and AUC values.
Results show that TAC measured by SCRAM-CAMs worn on the left and right showed a good correlation, with correlations between AUC and peak TAC values considered to be fair. A systematic review was performed by searching MEDLINE and Embase in March 2021. All studies reporting morbidity and/or mortality after SB-NEN resection were included. Pooled proportions of overall morbidity (Clavien-Dindo I-IV), severe morbidity (Clavien-Dindo III-IV), 30-day mortality, 90-day mortality and in-hospital mortality were calculated, as well as the association with hospital volume (high volume defined as the fourth quartile). Thirteen studies were included, with a total of 1087 patients. Pooled proportions revealed an overall morbidity of 13% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 7%-24%, I2 = 90%), severe morbidity of 7% (95% CI = 4%-14%, I2 = 70%), 30-day mortality of 2% (95% CI = 1%-3%, I2 = 0%), 90-day mortality of2% (95% CI = 2%-4%, I2 = 35%) and in-hospital mortality of 1% (95% CI = 0%-2%, I2 = 0%). An annual hospital volume of nine or more resections was associated with lower overall and severe morbidity compared to lower volume 10% vs 15% and 4% vs 9%, respectively. Thirty-day mortality was similar (2% vs 1%) and 90-day mortality was higher in high-volume hospitals 4% vs 1%. This systematic review with meta-analyses showed severe morbidity of 7% and low mortality rates after resection of SB-NEN. Herein, iron and phosphor dual-doped nickel selenide nanoporous films (Fe,P-NiSe2 NFs) are rationally designed as bifunctional catalysts for high-efficiency direct seawater electrolysis. The doping of Fe cation increases the selectivity and Faraday efficiency (FE) of the OER. While the doping of P anions improves the electronic conductivity and prevents the dissolution of selenide by forming a passivation layer containing P-O species. The Fe-dopant is identified as the primary active site for the hydrogen evolution reaction, and meanwhile, stimulates the adjacent Ni atoms as active centers for the OER. The experimental analyses and theoretical calculations provide an insightful understanding of the roles of dual-dopants in boosting seawater electrolysis.
