The Best Cot Beds For Your Little One
A good night's sleep is crucial, whether you're camping or visiting your family. Choose the best cot bed to ensure your child is safe, snug and can (hopefully!) sleep easily.
This cot bed is an excellent design. It has a sleek and minimalist appearance, and the frame is easy to put together. It can also be converted into a stylish toddler's bed.
The Mamas and Papas Coxley
Our overall winner is the Coxley is packed with design features that adhere to an exquisitely designed and hand-crafted style. It features three adjustable cot bases and can be converted into a toddler's bed. This will last your child for the first four years. It has two teething bars to soothe gums and stop chewing on the sides of the cot.
The Coxley comes as an entire nursery set that includes the stylish cotbed and a multi-purpose dresser/changer unit. It also includes two wardrobes. The dresser/change unit comes with an adjustable changing top that can transform it from a handy baby changing station to an elegant dresser that could be filled with all your child's favourite toys and keepsakes. The drawers are fully customisable, so you can match the style of your nursery.
Some cots can be extended for 10 years or more using expansion packs. It's worth keeping an eye out for these because they can be cheaper than purchasing a whole new mattress and cot later on.
The Coxley is a fantastic choice for cot beds. It's simple to put together and well-made, and looks stunning in any nursery. It's more expensive than other models and requires a standard-sized mattress which you'll need to purchase separately. It's still worth checking this out, however, because we think it's worth the money for a long-lasting design that looks incredibly sturdy.
The Silver Cross Westport
The Silver Cross Westport is an elegant and stylish choice that will look great in any nursery. It combines minimalist inspiration with modern twists, with warm oak-like details and soft curves for a striking style that's sure to be loved by parents as well as baby. The crib bed can be used until your child reaches age of four. It can be easily converted into a toddler bed using a simple extension kit. The dresser that comes with it is a handy under-bed drawer that's ideal for storing muslins and blankets as well as teething rails to keep your little one secure while they sleep.
This cot was rated the most effective by our testers for its design, ease of assembly, and the Allen key that comes with it. It also received praise for its sturdy construction and high-quality feel and said it felt like it was a "real piece of investment" as well as an elegant design for any nursery.
It's more expensive than other cot-beds we've looked at however, the quality and durability make it worth the extra expense. The sleigh's design is stunning and will make any room where your baby's centre of the attention! You can save money by purchasing the accessories like a rail for teething and drawer. However, we recommend buying an oval mattress than one of the standard sizes to avoid overstretching the slats and potentially causing your baby discomfort. Apart from that, our tester didn't have any issues with this crib and thought it was a fantastic buy.
The La Redoute Willox
As its name suggests the cot bed is the epitome of luxurious. With solid birch oak and plywood slats made to last, it's designed to last and has a classic French feel to it. It confirms to the French safety standards too, so you can be certain that your little one will be safe and sound. It's available in two stunning colours Grey-green and off-white.
Our testers thought it was easy to put together, and also that it looked most luxurious of our selections. However, it's expensive - especially as you need to buy a mattress separately - and if you're on a budget there are more affordable alternatives there.
The Great Little Trading Company Little Wren Cot Bed
This crib bed is an excellent option if you're seeking additional features. It comes with a handy under-bed storage area and teething rails. You can also alter the height of base to three different levels, so that your child doesn't have to climb out of bed as they grow older.
The only downside to this cot is that it requires a separate mattress that can cause the price to go more than other models we've reviewed. The premium aesthetics, ease of assembly, and the capacity to grow with your child are all appealing, making this cot worth the money. Our test participants loved the cot and thought it would be a beautiful accessory to any nursery.
The John Lewis Elementary
The John Lewis elementary is a great choice for parents who want a stylish frame that lasts a long time. It's more expensive than other options we've seen, but it comes with a matching changing table and wardrobe so you can kit out your nursery in one step. Plus, it's easy to put together and comes with 3 positions for the mattress's height so that your baby can grow into it. It also comes with teething rails and a drawer that neatly slips underneath, so you don't have to sacrifice floor space.
Baby Crib to note that you'll need an additional mattress for this crib bed, so make sure you budget accordingly. A quality mattress can be purchased for less than PS100. This isn't an enormous expense. It can be difficult to find a mattress that is suitable for the oval shape of the cot, however, there are many kinds that can be used.
Many parents choose cot beds for their children due to the fact that they are inexpensive and provide a comfortable sleeping area. They're generally appropriate from the time your child is born until the time he is around four years old, but some convert to toddler beds with the purchase of an extension kit. You'll find some of them in our list of options if you're looking for a cot bed that will last longer.
The Wooden Cotbed
One of our top cot beds, this gorgeous solid-wood model is well constructed and elegant. It also comes with a range of nifty extras including a handy drawer underneath and three heights that can be adjusted. The cot is suitable for kids up to four years of age (though some will require conversion to a toddler bed using the conversion kit available separately).
A teddy bear canopy as well as removable teething rails are included. The cot bed was simple to put together for our tester. The pieces were clearly marked and packed. It's also smaller than the other cots we tested and is an ideal choice for smaller rooms.
It's not cheap at PS599, with the mattress included. But it feels like an investment piece and you can use it for more than one child. It's beautiful in natural wood, however you can also get it in three Scandi-inspired finishes. It converts to a toddler's bed easily (leaving three sides open for safety) and can be converted into an upholstered daybed when your child is ready to leave the bars behind.
This is an excellent choice for parents looking for a sleep solution that will last for as long as they do. Our parent tester Becki said that her Boori cot was able to last through 3 children. The cot has a traditional design that's suitable for a variety of homes. It is constructed of sustainably harvested Australian Araucaria wood and New Zealand Radiata. The cot comes with some useful extras like an teddy-bear canopy teething rails, as well as the option to purchase the reflux wedge.
