The varicose veins of the lower extremities showed earthworm-like dilatation and venous protrusion of the lower extremities. Polidocanol foam sclerotherapy, as a minimally invasive treatment with rapid recovery, less trauma and not easy to relapse, has achieved good results in clinical, but it is lack of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of polidocanol in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities by meta-analysis.

Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, Chinese Scientifific Journals Database, China Biology Medicine disc, PubMed, EMBASE database, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library will be used as search sources to conduct for randomized controlled trials of polidocanol in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities. The search time is set from the establishment of the database in December 2020 in this study. Two researchers independently extract, delete files, extract data and evaluate the quality. Revman software version 5.3 will be used for statistical analysis of data.

In this study, the efficacy and safety of polidocanol in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities will be evaluated in terms of total effective rate, incidence of complications and recurrence rate.

This study will provide reliable evidence-based evidence for the clinical application of polidocanol in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities.

To assess the training received in Emergency Medicine (EM) by the Primary Health Care physicians of Asturias, as well as their perception of their own theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a series of procedures employed in life-threatening emergencies, and also to analyze the differences according to gender. The degree of preparation of Primary Health Care physicians for handling emergencies, according to the gender of the professionals, has never been studied before.Cross-sectional study of a sample of 213 Primary Health Care physicians from the Primary Health Care Service of Asturias, Spain, from among the total of 851 physicians on the staff of the Primary Health Care Service of Asturias. The survey was design ad hoc using the Body of Doctrine of Emergency Medicine proposed by the Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine, which indicates the theoretical and practical procedures that must be mastered by the Primary Health Care physicians. There are nonsignificant differences in the mean of theoreticarimary Health Care Service of Asturias, Spain, from among the total of 851 physicians on the staff of the Primary Health Care Service of Asturias. The survey was design ad hoc using the Body of Doctrine of Emergency Medicine proposed by the Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine, which indicates the theoretical and practical procedures that must be mastered by the Primary Health Care physicians. There are nonsignificant differences in the mean of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in many procedures or techniques studied depending on the gender.Female and male Asturian Primary Health Care physicians are generally well prepared to handle life-threatening emergencies. The degree of self-perception and acquisition of general theoretical knowledge and general practical skills for handling life-threatening emergencies is heterogeneous, and differences according to gender are not statistically significant.
This study aimed to compare Zung self-rating anxiety/depression scale (SAS/SDS) and hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) regarding the detection rate, detection consistency, and time of assessment in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.Totally 290 NSCLC patients who underwent surgical resection were consecutively recruited and clinical data of patients were collected. Patients' anxiety and depression were assessed using HADS and SAS/SDS when they were discharged from hospital and consumption of the time for completing HADS and SAS/SDS was recorded. The anxiety detection rates by SAS (57.9%) and HADS-A (51.0%) were of no difference (P = .095). Also, there was no difference in anxiety severity detected by the 2 scales (P = .467). Additional correlation analysis revealed that both anxiety scores (r = 0.702, P < .001) and detected anxiety (Kappa = 0.626, P < .001) were consistent by SAS and HADS-A. Regarding depression, depression detection rate by SDS (47.6%) was higher than that of HADS-Dminutes) (P  less then  .001).HADS could be a better choice for assessing anxiety and depression in NSCLC patients, benefiting from its shorter assessment time but consistent detection rate compared with SAS/SDS.
The worldwide impact of COVID-19 has reached all spheres of human health. Individuals may also experience unique changes in their sexual behaviors during the COVID-19 self-isolation/social distancing period. Studies in many countries have assess the effects of the pandemic on sexual behavior, or quality of sexual life. However, no systematic review has comprehensively explored the association between COVID-19 and the sexual behaviors of young women and men to date. This systematic review and meta-analysis protocol aims to ascertain the association between COVID-19 and sexual behaviors of young women and men that may get targeted interventions to improve health and well-being of young people's sexual health.

This systematic review and meta-analysis will be reported following the PRISMA guidelines. Observational designs (including cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort) will be eligible. Studies eligible for inclusion must contain participants aged 15 to 45 in any country affected by the pandemic of COVIpotential causes.

It is not necessary to obtain ethical approval as we will use data from published articles. The findings of this systematic review will be published in a peer- reviewed journal.

Cholinergic modification by anticholinergic medication can produce adverse effects in central nervous system (CNS) and cyclopentolate is an antimuscarinic agent widely used for ophthalmologic management. We demonstrate a rare case of hyperactive delirium caused by topical administration of cyclopentolate in a patient with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer's disease (AD).

A 74-year-old man showed acute confusion after preparation for cataract operation in day surgery clinic. The patient became confused and agitated after instillation of topical cyclopentolate drop into the eye and the symptoms persisted over several hours.

Previously the patient had been diagnosed with amnestic MCI with the finding of bilateral medial temporal atrophy on brain magnetic resonance imaging. 18F-flutemetamol positron emission tomography scan demonstrated multifocal amyloid deposition in the brain.

The patient was closely observed with the supportive management.

The patient began to recover 5 h after the onset of symptoms and the cognitive function was reverted to previous state within 24 h.

It is well known that several drugs with anticholinergic effects used in perioperative periods make the patients susceptible to delirium, but even the topical administration of cyclopentolate for cataract surgery also produce adverse CNS effects in a vulnerable patient who is diagnosed with MCI due to AD in this case.

Squamous cell lung cancer is one of the major pathological types in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Since treatment with angiogenic agents and target drugs in patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer is not promising, there are limited strategies to improve the outcome in such patients. Herein, we report a pretreated patient with advanced squamous cell lung cancer, who received low-dose of apatinib combined with S-1 as salvage treatment, with good long-term response.

The patient complained of dry cough for one month without any relief by medication. Otherwise, she denied any other medical or family history.

According to the chest computed tomography, and pathologic findings from biopsy for lesion in lung, the patient was diagnosed with lung squamous cell lung cancer with enlargement of bilateral supraclavicular lymph nodes suggesting metastasis, staged as IIIb.

The patient received gemcitabine plus cisplatin as first line treatment, and gemcitabine as maintenance therapy. After progrvestigate the efficacy and safety of the combination therapy in such patients.
Acquired resistance to reversible EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors remains a significant obstacle, and acquired ERBB2 amplification is the most common "bypass" mechanism. For patients with sensitizing EGFR mutation who experience resistance via ERBB2 amplification, no targeted drug has been demonstrated to be effective.

A 56-year-old female nonsmoker suffered from left leg paralysis and low back pain. Imaging examination revealed a mass in the anterior segment of the right upper lobe lung and possible multiple metastases in the right hilar, mediastinal lymph nodes, bone metastases, and soft tissue invasion.

Transbronchial lung biopsy revealed a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma (cT4N2M1c, stage IV). An EGFR exon 19 deletion was identified using amplification refractory mutation system.

After the patient was treated with gefitinib initiation (250 mg/d) for 15 months, the tumor progressed with ERBB2 amplification revealed by next-generation sequencing test. Then, the patient was started on afatinib (40 mg/d) plus bevacizumab (7.5 mg/kg every 3 weeks).

The combination therapy of afatinib and bevacizumab in this patient was effective with some slight side effects. Computed tomography scans showed the tumor shrinkage and the pleural effusion disappeared in the right lung. The overall survival was 23.5 months.

To date, there is no targeted therapy approved and demonstrated to be effective for non-small cell lung cancer patients with EGFR sensitizing mutations, and ERBB2 amplification. The effectiveness of combination therapy with afatinib and bevacizumab may provide a new therapeutic option for these patients.

The association between obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and plasma/serum ghrelin levels remains controversial. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the difference in plasma/serum ghrelin levels between OSAHS patients and controls.

Database of PubMed, SCI, and Elsevier were searched entirely. Two independents identified eligible studies of ghrelin levels in OSAHS patients. ReviewManager (version 5.3) was adopted for data synthesis.

The meta-analysis A pooled the comparison of ghrelin concentrations in OSAHS patients and controls, which included 7 studies and involving 446 participants. The result of the meta-analysis A indicated that plasma/serum ghrelin levels were no significant differences between the OSAHS group and the control group (standard mean difference (SMD) = 0.08, 95% confidence interval (CI) = -0.12 to 0.28, P = .43). As a supplementary, meta-analysis B pooled the comparison of plasma/serum ghrelin levels in OSAHS patients before and after continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, which included 155 participants from 4 studies, it revealed that plasma/serum ghrelin levels were no significant differences between before and after CPAP therapy (SMD = 0.
