Cots 4 Tots - A Charity That Helps Families With Neonatal Intensive Care

Cots for Tots offers accommodation near the hospital to families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is managed by the Great Appeal, the dedicated charity that helps Bristol Children's Hospital. Abbey Silvester ran in support of the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run.

It is recommended to move your child to a bed when they are ready. This will prevent resentment towards their new sister. It also helps them to sleep better.

The Cots 4 Tots story

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit organization which supports the Marine Corps' annual toy drive. It offers financial, advisory, administrative logistical and promotional assistance to local Toys for Tots Coordinators and a variety of other services that the Marine Corps cannot provide. It also distributes educational and informational materials to the public and arranges for national corporations to incorporate information about Toys for Tots into their paid advertisements, and also runs an annual program of education for the public and publicity.

Cots 4 Tots began in 2010 as a campaign to raise funds for Bristol's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael's Hospital. Since its inception, the charity has raised tens and thousands of pounds to support families with sick or premature babies in the West of England and South Wales. Its work includes providing family accommodation facilities and state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.

One of the main focuses is the Cots for Tots House, a cost-free "home from home" for families staying at the hospital. It is located near the NICU which allows parents to be close to their infants. Since 2012, the charity has helped more than 2,100 families remain at home.

Families who stay at Cots for Tots House can be reassured that they aren't alone. They are part of a community of other parents going through similar experiences and they are able to help each one another out. Additionally they have access to numerous services to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

The charity also provides a music therapist who goes to the NICU to help reduce stress and pain levels for babies and their parents. It has been proven to improve the quality of life of both patients and their families. Music therapy also helps reduce the amount of medication required to treat children, which can save both time and money for hospitals. The therapist employs specially designed instruments that resonate, which are tuned to specific frequencies. They play soothing tunes to soothe babies. Resonant instruments can also soothe fathers and mothers.

The Cots 4 Tots website

The Cots 4 Tots website is the home of a special charity that is raising funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol. The charity is a part of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, and it also funds Cots for Tots House which provides free home from home accommodation for families whose children have been treated in the neonatal intensive-care unit. It has assisted hundreds of families over the past decade.

Abbey Silvester's two kids, Alfie and Mollie, both were in the neonatal intensive care unit at St Michael's Hospital. She claims that Cots for Tots "was an absolute blessing" and that she and her family would not have been able to survive without it. "You make friends here, you build a community and love amongst one another," said she. "Without it, who would know what our lives would be like?"

Choosing the right crib for your baby is a huge choice. There are many sizes and styles which is why you should think about what you'll need in the long run. A cot should be strong and have railings that are sturdy. It should be easy to clean and also have a bed that can be removed. Some cots have an adjustable height base that is ideal for small children.

Moving can be stressful for everyone and for parents with children, it's even more stressful. They must face a newborn and all the other challenges that come with it. But, by making a few key preparations and hiring a transport service early, you can ensure that your move goes smoothly.
