Posttraumatic Growth as well as Managing Strategies Among Sufferers Using Neck and head Cancer malignancy: Do Strategy Managing and Avoidant Dealing Anticipate Posttraumatic Expansion After a while?
Humerus shaft fractures may be treated conservatively or surgically. In 2.5% to 13% of cases, nonunion is observed, and it leads to severe pain and morbidity. Plate osteosynthesis has become popular in the treatment of nonunion of the humeral shaft. In this study, we compared the clinical outcomes of patients with humerus shaft nonunion whom we treated with single- or double-plate fixation.

Fifty-three patients diagnosed with aseptic humeral shaft nonunion and treated with plate fixation were included in the study. Patients were evaluated according to the number of plates (single vs. double plates). The two groups were subjected to statistical evaluation according to their clinical and radiographical results.

The average age of the patients was 53 years (range 1-86); 28 (52.8%) were female and 25 (47.2%) were male. The union rate was 90.32% for single plate and 90.91% for double plate fixation. There was no statistically significant difference between single and double plates in the clinical and radiographical results (union time, union rate, Q-DASH score) (p > 0.05). There was a significant correlation between age and union times / Q-DASH scores according to the Spearman correlation test (p < 0.05). Transient radial nerve neuropraxia developed in 2 patients and 1 patient suffered from an infection that was treated with debridement and antibiotic therapy.

In our study, similar good results were obtained with single and double plates. In treatment of humeral shaft nonunions, a second plate is not needed if enough stability is provided with single plate fixation.

Level of evidence III, Retrospective comparative study. The African Sahel countries are inherently fragile, environmentally insecure and economically weak. This paper underscores the compounded impacts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic on resource supply security and, hence, the long-term development of the region. It outlines the Sahel-specific COVID-19 scenario by firstly highlighting the underlying vulnerabilities and later linking the health sector outcomes to increased political instability and environmental insecurity, particularly the deterioration of food security. In this sense, this paper shows from a region-wide perspective how COVID-19 in the Sahel is associated with enlarged sociopolitical developmental perils. Lower remittance sent by expatriates, violent conflicts, increased cross-border terrorism and migration, discriminant mobility restrictions of people and goods, weak national healthcare infrastructures, bottlenecks in international aid, pressures on the education system and recent climate extremes are some revealing examples of aggravators of the impacts on the supply of vital resources, such as food. This paper also shows the importance of considering the close interlinks between health, food and political stability in the Sahel. There is a paramount need for more comprehensive approaches linking human health to other sectors, and for re-considering local sustainable agriculture. To avoid prolonged or recurrent humanitarian crises, the Sahel countries need to strengthen response capacities through public sector-led responses. Examples of these responses include reinforced national disaster programs for the vulnerable, support to sustainable agriculture and food markets, improved performance and communication of public sector relief, state-based cooperation, building of regional alliances and peacemaking efforts. This study aims to investigate why some countries are cleaner than the others with reference to macroeconomic governance (MEG) in order to explain how major macroeconomic aggregates should be governed to mitigate environmental pollution at the level of economic systems. Using per capita carbon dioxide emissions (CPC) as the proxy for air pollution, and macro-non-financial governance (MNFG) and macro-financial governance (MFG) as the proxies for MEG, the study introduces the systemic and fragmented governance of green complementarities (GCMs) and dirty complementarities (DCMs) as analytic concepts to compare the MEG models for managing pollution in 13 high-income countries (HICs), 10 upper-middle-income countries (UMICs), and nine lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) for the period 1994-2014. The paper concludes that (i) HICs reduced their CPC levels thanks to adopting green systemic governance by creating GCMs between both MNFG and MFG variables in the long run; (ii) UMICs experienced a remarkable increase in their CPC levels due to adopting dirty systemic governance by creating DCMs between the MNFG variables, but prevented pollution from being higher through creating GCMs between the MFG variables; and (iii) LMICs experienced the highest comparative increase in CPC due to adopting a fragmented governance in managing both MNFG-pollution and MFG-pollution nexus. The suppliers' performance plays a vital role, with a domino effect, in project success, organizational competitiveness, protecting supply chain and construction industry from disruptions and PESTEL risks (political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal). Therefore, measuring the performance of the construction suppliers has become the primary focus of project-oriented organizations and the core of business decision-making, especially during global megatrends. The question that may arise here is, "How can the performance of the construction suppliers be determined under uncertainties considering the post-COVID-19 era?" Organizations need eligible suppliers for the rapid recovery of the supply chain and construction sector at this critical stage. Given the importance of the issue, this study aims to propose a novel approach for measuring the performance of construction suppliers using the fuzzy ordinal priority approach (OPA-F). OPA-F is a recent development in multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) that can determine the criteria weights for performance measurement using fuzzy linguistic variables. We do not always have access to a complete data set in real-world situations and business environments. Nevertheless, OPA-F can handle this dilemma, even with incomplete input data. This research intends to consider three main aspects of the construction suppliers, known as (L-A-D) capabilities, including localization, agility, and digitalization. In this regard, we bring up a case study from the construction industry to demonstrate the application of the proposed framework. The findings show that the most critical criterion is "digitalization" for the case study. This criterion covers "supply chain automation" and "virtualization and dematerialization" of services/products. The proposed approach is practical and straightforward, particularly for academicians and decision-makers; it can also incorporate uncertainties.Artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain are the two disruptive technologies emerging from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) that have introduced radical shifts in the industry. The amalgamation of AI and blockchain holds tremendous potential to create new business models enabled through digitalization. Although research on the application and convergence of AI and blockchain exists, our understanding of the utility of its integration for business remains fragmented. To address this gap, this study aims to characterize the applications and benefits of integrated AI and blockchain platforms across different verticals of business. Using bibliometric analysis, this study reveals the most influential articles on the subject based on their publications, citations, and importance in the intellectual network. Using content analysis, this study sheds light on the subject's intellectual structure, which is underpinned by four major thematic clusters focusing on supply chains, healthcare, secure transactions, and finance and accounting. The study concludes with 10 application areas in business that can benefit from these technologies.Surgical case scheduling is a key issue in the field of medician, which is a challenging work because of the difficulty in assigning resources to patients. This study regards the surgical case scheduling problem as a flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP). Considering the switching and preparation time of patients in different stage, an improved multi-objective imperialist competitive algorithm (IMOICA), which adopts the non-dominant sorting method, is proposed to optimize the whole scheduling. First, the social hierarchy strategy is developed to initialize the empire. Then, to enhance the global search ability of the algorithm, the concept of attraction and repulsion (AR) is introduced into the assimilation strategy. Moreover, to increase the diversity of the population, the revolution strategy is utilized. Finally, the variable neighborhood search (VNS) strategy is embedded to improve its exploitation capacity further. Experiments show that scheduling in advance saves time and cost, and IMOICA can solve the surgical case scheduling problem studied efficiently. The polymerization of aniline hydrochloride by inverse microemulsion in a batch process and the semicontinuous process was studied as a function of the surfactant ionic and nonionic. Polymerizations were carried out at 60°C for 4 h with a yield polymer of circa 67 and 27% wt. for ionic and nonionic surfactants. The conductivity of synthesized polyaniline by the semicontinuous process is higher up to three orders of magnitude than that of the batch process for both surfactants. The calculating degree of oxidation by UV-Vis showed the relative intensities of the quinoid to benzenoid unit around one. The morphology was determined by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and observed that the formation of the different morphologies is due to the self-assembly behavior of surfactant. The diameter z-average particle size (Dz) was studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), which determined that the diameter particle in a semicontinuous state is larger than the one produced in a batch; this is due to the control of monomer addition in the system. These findings suggest that the polymerization process and the type of surfactant influence the properties of polyaniline.Behavioral software models play a key role in many software engineering tasks; unfortunately, these models either are not available during software development or, if available, quickly become outdated as implementations evolve. Model inference techniques have been proposed as a viable solution to extract finite state models from execution logs. However, existing techniques do not scale well when processing very large logs that can be commonly found in practice. In this paper, we address the scalability problem of inferring the model of a component-based system from large system logs, without requiring any extra information. Our model inference technique, called PRINS, follows a divide-and-conquer approach. selleck chemicals The idea is to first infer a model of each system component from the corresponding logs; then, the individual component models are merged together taking into account the flow of events across components, as reflected in the logs. We evaluated PRINS in terms of scalability and accuracy, using nine datasets composed of logs extracted from publicly available benchmarks and a personal computer running desktop business applications.
