After sleep, participants were again tested for memory specifics and generalization. Memory reactivation during sleep due to the sound cues led to a relative decline in accuracy on the specifics test, which could indicate the transition to a loss of detail that facilitates generalization, particularly details such as the borders. Generalization performance showed very little change after sleep and was unaffected by the sound cues. Although results tentatively implicate sleep in memory transformation, further research is needed to examine memory change across longer time periods.
To compare clinical and radiographic results of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) with biceps rerouting (BR) and those of conventional repair for semirigid, large-to-massive rotator cuff tear.
We prospectively collected data of 111 patients who underwent either ARCR+ BR (n= 59, group 1) or only ARCR (n= 52, group 2) for semirigid, large-to-massive rotator cuff tear between January 2016 and December 2018. We comparatively analyzed bothgroups with respect to preoperative factors including concomitant lesions of the long head of the biceps tendon (LHBT). Univariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify predictive variables for occurrence of retear after ARCR+ BR.
Mean age of groups 1 and 2 were 62.8 and 63.7 years, respectively (P= .484). Mean follow-up period in groups 1 and 2 were 15.1 and 25.1 months, respectively (P= .102). Mean range of motion and functional scores improved significantly (P < .05) and comparably (P > .05) in both groups. In total, 11 (18.6%) and 25 (48.1%)T and wide and/or thin tendon morphology were significant risk factors for postoperative occurrence of retear.

This study aimed to determine radiological findings associated with ramp lesions in knees with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
This study included the primary ACL reconstructions from June 2011 to March 2019. The exclusion criteria were combined fractures and multiligament injuries. Patients were categorized based on arthroscopy-confirmed presence of ramp lesions, which was defined as a longitudinal tear around the meniscocapsular junction or red-red zone tear of medial meniscus posterior horn. Binary logistic regression analysis was performed to find the risk factors such as age, sex, body mass index, medial tibial slope, mechanical axis angle, presence of Segond fracture, and lateral femoral condyle (LFC) ratio. Additionally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and area under the ROC curve (AUC) were evaluated.
Ramp lesions were identified in 89 (27.7%) patients among the total 321 included primary ACL reconstructions. The risk of ramp lesion was associated with increased LFC ratio (odds ratio [OR] 62.929; 95% confidence interval [CI] 8.473-467.351; P < .001), varus alignment >3° (OR 5.858; 95% CI 3.272-10.486; P < .001), and steeper medial tibial slope (OR 1.183; 95% CI 1.05-1.333; P= .006). The cutoff values of the LFC ratio and medial tibial slope for ramp lesions were >71% (AUC 0.696; sensitivity 43.82%; specificity 91.38%; P < .001) and >12.1° (AUC 0.643; sensitivity 85.39%; specificity 38.79%; P < .001), respectively.
Deep posterior LFC, varus alignment, and steep medial tibial slope were associated factors for ramp lesions in knees with ACL injury. In patients with ACL injury who show the above-mentioned radiographic findings, careful assessment and suspicion for ramp lesions should be considered.

To determine 2-year functional outcomes using an all-inside quadrupled semitendinosus anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction technique in male and female patients.
A total of 100 patients who underwent quadrupled semitendinosus all-inside hamstring ACL reconstruction by a single surgeon were enrolled. Patient-reported outcome scores collected preoperatively and postoperatively included visual analog scale, Veterans Rand 12-Item Health Survey (VR-12; Physical and Mental), Marx Activity Scale, Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Scores (KOOS), and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC).
A total of 100 ACL reconstructions comprising 62 female, and 38 male patients were included in this study. Mean graft diameter was 9.4 mm in female and 9.8 mm in male patients (range, 9-11). Outcome scores demonstrated improvement from preoperative to 2-year postoperative respectively visual analog scale pain 3.18, 1.07, VR-12 physical 36.35, 52.64, VR-12 mental 53.96, 54.65, KOOS pain 59.17, 89.03, KOOS symptoms 52.64, 80.79, KOOS Activities of Daily Living 69.38, 95.4, KOOS Sport 28.97, 81.25, KOOS Quality of Life 27.54, 71.56, WOMAC Pain 71.56, 92.65, WOMAC Stiffness 60.55, 84.13, and WOMAC Function 69.38, 95.4. Marx activity score decreased from baseline (10.98) to 2 years' postoperatively (8.75). At 2 years, patient expectations were met or exceeded with regards to pain (94%), motion and strength (91%), normal function of daily living (95%), and return to sport (79%).
Anatomic all-inside quadrupled semitendinosus ACL reconstruction improves functional outcomes similarly to previous studies between baseline and clinical follow-up at 1-year and 2-years postoperatively and is comparable in both male and female patients.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of subacromial platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in patients with refractory rotator cuff tendinopathies based on pain improvement, functional outcomes, sleep disturbances, and return to sports to the same level as before the injury.
Between March 2019 and October 2019, 50 patients with rotator cuff tendinopathy refractory to conservative treatment were treated with one subacromial PRP injection in our institution. Magnetic resonance imaging was performed in all patients to confirm diagnosis. The visual analog scale (VAS) was used to evaluate pain. Range of motion, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, and the Constant score were used to assess functional outcomes. Eighty percent of the patients (40 of 50 patients) and 86% of the patients (43 of 50 patients) achieved a clinically significant improvement that exceeded the substantial clinical benefit for the ASES and Constant scores, respectively. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was used to assess sleep disorders. Return to sports was also evaluated. The mean follow-up was 12 months, and the mean (SD) age was 37.3 (9.3) years.
All mobility parameters evaluated improved significantly after treatment. The VAS, ASES, and Constant scores showed statistical improvement after the injection (P < .001). Sleep disturbances were resolved in 86% of the patients. Of the 32 patients who practiced sports before the injury, 84% returned to sports and 78% returned to the same level. There were no complications associated with the procedure.
In most patients with refractory rotator cuff tendinopathy, subacromial injections of leukocyte-rich PRP significantly decreased pain, improved functional outcomes, and resolved sleep disturbances. Moreover, most of the athletes returned to sports at the same level they had before the injury.

The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical and radiologic outcomes after superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) with biceps tendon (BT) for irreparable rotator cuff tears.
The retrospective study period was May 2015 through February 2018. The average follow-up was 32 months (24-48 months) after surgery. Study inclusion criteria included an arthroscopic SCR performed using only our technique and minimum 2-year clinical follow-up by office visit and survey. Exclusion criteria included irreparable subscapularis tear and those patients lost to follow-up. This method enabled SCR by using the extraarticular portion and the intraarticular portion and making it 2 to 3 bundles by moving back and forth in the intraarticular area. Physical examination and functional scoring procedures were performed before surgery and at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after surgery. Radiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed before surgery, after surgery (only radiography), and at 6 and 24 months after Level IV, retrospective case series.
Level IV, retrospective case series.We have functionally characterized the RPL6, a Ribosomal Protein Large subunit gene for salt stress tolerance in rice. The overexpression of RPL6 resulted in tolerance to moderate (150 mM) to high (200 mM) levels of salt (NaCl). The transgenic rice plants expressing RPL6 constitutively showed better phenotypic and physiological responses with high quantum efficiency, accumulation of higher chlorophyll and proline contents, and an overall increase in seed yield compared with the wild type in salt stress treatments. An iTRAQ-based comparative proteomic analysis revealed the high expression of about 333 proteins among the 4378 DAPs in a selected overexpression line of RPL6 treated with 200 mM of NaCl. The functional analysis showed that these highly accumulated proteins (HAPs) are involved in photosynthesis, ribosome and chloroplast biogenesis, ion transportation, transcription and translation regulation, phytohormone and secondary metabolite signal transduction. An in silico network analysis of HAPs predicted that RPL6 binds with translation-related proteins and helicases, which coordinately affect the activities of a comprehensive signaling network, thereby inducing tolerance and promoting growth and productivity in response to salt stress. Our overall findings identified a novel candidate, RPL6, whose characterization contributed to the existing knowledge on the complexity of salt tolerance mechanism in plants.
The population uses the aqueous extract as tea from leaves of Ocimum selloi Benth. (alfavaca) for pain and inflammation issues. This study is motivated by a lack of data about inflammation properties of O. Hydroxyfasudil selloi.
This study investigated the chemical composition and anti-inflammatory activity, in mice models, of the aqueous extract (OSAE) and essential oil (OSEO) obtained from leaves of O. selloi.
The antioxidant activity and total phenolic content were evaluated for samples, although chemical composition was obtained by U-HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS for OSAE and GC-MS for OSEO. OSAE and OSEO were tested orally at doses of 30, 100 and 300mg/kg at the carrageenan-induced pleurisy and paw edema, also mechanical hyperalgesia, in mice.
Four glycosylated flavonoids and one organic acid were identified in OSAE, and nine substances in OSEO, the two majoritarian are E-anethole and methyl chavicol. Oral treatments with OSAE and OSEO significantly inhibited the carrageenan-induced pleurisy in female Swiss mice, besides OSAE and OSEO significantly prevented paw edema (after 1, 2, and 4h), mechanical hyperalgesia (after 3 and 4h), and cold hyperalgesia 3h after carrageenan model in male Swiss mice. The dose of 300mg/kg of OSEO reduced cold hyperalgesia 4h after carrageenan.
The results evidenced the anti-inflammatory, anti-edematogenic, anti-hyperalgesic, and anti-nociceptive potentials of both materials obtained from leaves of O. selloi, mainly OSAE, supporting the popular use of this species.
