No matter which type of school you decide upon the first week or two will be similar... classwork. Videos, slide shows, workbooks, charts, and a few written tests sprinkled in here and there. To be honest the work is really pretty easy. But be aware... they are going to completely and totally overwhelm you with the sheer quantity of information... and they know it.



Professional truck drivers are required to obtain a CDL - a commercial driver's license in order to maintain truck driver jobs. To get a CDL, you must take a test at your local DMV, which consists of a written portion and a driving portion. Though schooling is not required, it is highly recommended you attend a Truck driving school before you take the test so you can receive proper training to help you pass.

Even though there are different categories of truck driver jobs you can still expect certain things in each category. Anyone can become a truck driver but you must not be a felon, alcoholic, or drug abuser. Every beginning truck driver can expect to have to find a trucking school that will certify them and help them earn their CDL license. Many trucking companies looking for new drivers will help you to pay for this training school. There is a total of 148 hours minimum and 178 hours maximum of schooling you must attend and pass.

1) You should at least try to finish high school or your GED (even though not usually required). Almost all employers like their new hires to show some level of competence in the education field, and trucking companies are no exception. A high school diploma or even a GED will show your future employer that you are able to finish at least a basic education. The last thing you want your supervisor to think is that you are not competent. This isn't to say that not finishing school makes you a less intelligent person, but you do not want to fall into that stereotype if at all possible.

People parks (not dog parks) are an excellent place for socialization. As long as dogs are allowed on leash, take puppy and let him see the walkers, joggers, bikers and wild life that abounds. Another benefit to parks is the exposure to multiple flooring surfaces. A typical park offers grass, concrete, gravel, wood and pine straw. Parks such as Shelley Lake in Raleigh offer all of this plus wood-plank bridges, a playground where puppy can meet some kids and of course, the lake. This is a socialization extravaganza!
