Cognitive features of auditory hallucinations (voices) have important clinical significance and their assessment is vital for cognitive behavior therapy to be more widely deployed by multidisciplinary staff. Using a new Socratic instrument-The Staff Views About Assessing Voices Questionnaire (SVAVQ)-we surveyed a community inpatient rehabilitation multidisciplinary workforce's (N = 50) assessment and attitude toward asking cognitive questions about patients' voices. #link# We found that there were many clinically important gaps in what staff asked about in relation to cognitive features of voices. We identified a range of beliefs the staff hold that may prevent assessment of voice cognitive features. However, after attending the Socratic SVAVQ interview, 84% of staff said they planned to ask patients more questions about cognitive features of patients' voices. Research could now test if other psychosis services neglect the assessment of important cognitive features of patients' voices and if staff Socratic questioning improves their cognitive assessments.Stereotypic antibody clonotypes exist in healthy individuals and may provide protective immunity against viral infections by neutralization. We observed that 13 of 17 patients with COVID-19 had stereotypic variable heavy chain (VH) antibody clonotypes directed against the receptor binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. These antibody clonotypes were composed of immunoglobulin heavy variable 3-53 (IGHV3-53) or IGHV3-66 and immunoglobulin heavy joining 6 (IGHJ6) genes. These clonotypes included IgM, IgG3, IgG1, IgA1, IgG2, and IgA2 subtypes and had minimal somatic mutations, which suggested swift class switching after SARS-CoV-2 infection. The different IGHV chains were paired with diverse light chains resulting in binding to the RBD of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Metabolism inhibitor for the RBD can neutralize SARS-CoV-2 by inhibiting entry into host cells. We observed that one of these stereotypic neutralizing antibodies could inhibit viral replication in vitro using a clinical isolate of SARS-CoV-2. link2 We also found that these VH clonotypes existed in 6 of 10 healthy individuals, with IgM isotypes predominating. These findings suggest that stereotypic clonotypes can develop de novo from naïve B cells and not from memory B cells established from prior exposure to similar viruses. The expeditious and stereotypic expansion of these clonotypes may have occurred in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 because they were already present.Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) emerged as a promising control solution in various engineering domains. However, increased ADRC order makes it difficult to implement and tune in practice. On the other hand, Reduced-order ADRC (RADRC) structure solves this issue with the appropriate tuning of its parameters to achieve the desired performance. This paper aims to develop analytical tuning rules for RADRC for processes approximated as First-order plus dead-time models (FOPDT). These rules meet the conflicting goals of tracking and disturbance rejection restricted by robustness specification. The tuning rules are derived based on a multi-stage approach. In the first stage, the tuning problem is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem with appropriate constraints. A Multi-objective Quasi-Oppositional Rao-1 (MOQO-Rao-1) Algorithm solves the optimization problem to produce a collection of Pareto-optimal solutions (alternatives) in the second stage. In the third stage, using the Best-Worst based PROMETHEE method, the best one is chosen among the available options. Finally, using linear regression, analytical tuning rules are developed. Separate tuning rules are proposed for lag-dominated and dead-time dominated cases. Simulation experiments on benchmark industrial processes are performed, and the findings assess the efficacy of the suggested tuning rules relative to the methods recently published. The proposed tuning rules are experimentally validated to assess their applicability in the practical scenario. Besides, the closed-loop system's stability with the suggested tuning rules is confirmed by the small-gain theorem and the dual-locus process.
There is increasing research interest in using short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) including butyrate as potential alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters in animal production. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of supplementation of sodium butyrate (SB) in liquid feeds (milk, milk replacer, and the mixture of both) on the growth performance, rumen fermentation, and serum antioxidant capacity and immunoglobins in dairy calves before weaning. Forty healthy female Holstein calves (4-day-old, 40 ± 5 kg of body weight) were housed in individual hutches and randomly allocated to 1 of 4 treatment groups (n = 10 per group) using the RAND function in Excel. The control group was fed no SB (SB0), while the other three groups were supplemented with 15 (SB15), 30 (SB30), or 45 (SB45) g/d of SB mixed into liquid feeds offered. The calves were initially fed milk only (days 2 to 20), then a mixture of milk and milk replacer (days 21 to 23), and finally milk replacer only (days 24 to 60).
The SB supplementhe conditions of this study, SB supplementation improved growth performance and antioxidant function in pre-weaned dairy calves. We recommended 45 g/d as the optimal level of SB supplementation mixed into liquid feeds (milk or milk replacer) to improve the growth and antioxidant function of dairy calves before weaning.
Enteral nutrition (EN) therapy is widely used in clinical practice to provide artificial nutrition to patients, while the incidence of adverse events are relatively highly. In the clinical setting, the occurrence of adverse events is associated with the nurse's risk perception. Thus, using tool to evaluate nurse's risk perception of enteral nutrition is necessary.
The draft questionnaire with 37-items was formed by comprehensive literature reviews and semi-structured in-depth interviews with 11 nurses. link3 Two iterations of expert consultations were used to evaluate the content validity, and 4 items were deleted in this phrase. A 33-items questionnaire was used to survey 352 nurses from five tertiary hospitals in China from May to July 2019 with convenience sampling. Content validity, construct validity and known-groups validity were evaluated by content validity index (CVI), exploratory factor analysis, and the comparisons of the different EN risk perception levels of nurses at different working departments y.

In the early 20th century, Cuban farmers imported Charolais cattle (CHFR) directly from France. These animals are now known as Chacuba (CHCU) and have become adapted to the rough environmental tropical conditions in Cuba. These conditions include long periods of drought and food shortage with extreme temperatures that European taurine cattle have difficulty coping with.
In this study, we used whole-genome sequence data from 12 CHCU individuals together with 60 whole-genome sequences from six additional taurine, indicus and crossed breeds to estimate the genetic diversity, structure and accurate ancestral origin of the CHCU animals. Although CHCU animals are assumed to form a closed population, the results of our admixture analysis indicate a limited introgression of Bos indicus. We used the extended haplotype homozygosity (EHH) approach to identify regions in the genome that may have had an important role in the adaptation of CHCU to tropical conditions. Putative selection events occurred in genomic regiof the phenotypic differences observed between CHCU and CHFR cattle.
Whole-genome data confirm that CHCU cattle are closely related to Charolais from France (CHFR) and Canada, but also reveal a limited introgression of Bos indicus genes in CHCU. We observed possible signals of recent adaptation to tropical conditions between CHCU and CHFR founder populations, which were largely independent of the Bos indicus introgression. Finally, we report candidate genes and variants that may have a functional impact and explain some of the phenotypic differences observed between CHCU and CHFR cattle.Polarized growth and cytokinesis are two fundamental cellular processes that exist in virtually all cell types. Mechanisms for asymmetric distribution of materials allow for cells to grow in a polarized manner. This gives rise to a variety of cell shapes seen throughout all cell types. Following polarized growth during interphase, dividing cells assemble a cytokinetic ring containing the protein machinery to constrict and separate daughter cells. Here, we discuss how cell polarity signaling pathways act on cytokinesis, with a focus on direct regulation of the contractile actomyosin ring (CAR). Recent studies have exploited phosphoproteomics to identify new connections between cell polarity kinases and CAR proteins. Existing evidence suggests that some polarity kinases guide the local organization of CAR proteins and structures while also contributing to global organization of the division plane within a cell. We provide several examples of this regulation from budding yeast, fission yeast, and metazoan cells. In some cases, kinase-substrate connections point to conserved processes in these different organisms. We point to several examples where future work can indicate the degree of conservation and divergence in the cell division process of these different organisms.MXene, a new state-of-the-art two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial, has attracted considerable interest from both industry and academia because of its excellent electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties. However, MXene-based device engineering has rarely been reported. In this study, we explored Ti3C2 MXene for digital and analog computing applications by engineering the top electrode. For this purpose, Ti3C2 MXene was synthesized by a simple chemical process, and its structural, compositional, and morphological properties were studied using various analytical tools. Finally, we explored its potential application in bipolar resistive switching (RS) and synaptic learning devices. In particular, the effect of the top electrode (Ag, Pt, and Al) on the RS properties of the Ti3C2 MXene-based memory devices was thoroughly investigated. Compared with the Ag and Pt top electrode-based devices, the Al/Ti3C2/Pt device exhibited better RS and operated more reliably, as determined by the evaluation of the charge-magnetic property and memory endurance and retention. Thus, we selected the Al/Ti3C2/Pt memristive device to mimic the potentiation and depression synaptic properties and spike-timing-dependent plasticity-based Hebbian learning rules. Furthermore, the electron transport in this device was found to occur by a filamentary RS mechanism (based on oxidized Ti3C2 MXene), as determined by analyzing the electrical fitting curves. The results suggest that the 2D Ti3C2 MXene is an excellent nanomaterial for non-volatile memory and synaptic learning applications.
