Subsequent studies revealed that BPFP1 can fluorescently label carcinoma cells by binding to overexpressed Bcl-2 protein in living cells, and can distinguish carcinoma cells (HL-60 cells and ACHN cells) from normal-tissue cells (HUVECs) according to the different Bcl-2 protein expression levels between carcinoma cells and normal tissue cells. In the present study, BPFP1 represents a new tool for Bcl-2 protein quantification, carcinoma cell visualization and cell sorting. Moreover, BPFP1 can be used in the future for early cancer diagnosis by detecting carcinoma cells in patient tissues.
This study aimed to examine the pregnant women's and their partner's experience of the information given at the antenatal clinic regarding screening methods.

A qualitative interview study was conducted in the Gothenburg area in Sweden. Ten women and seven partners expecting their first child were interviewed adjacent to the second-trimester ultrasound examination. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis.

The findings present an overall theme, three main categories, and ten subcategories. The overall theme showed a nonhomogeneous and individually based picture concerning the meaning and purpose of the methods, need for improvement of information, parents own information seeking, and the encounter with the midwife was also experienced as an influential encounter. The main categories show that diversity relates to the level of information given, voluntariness, the possibility of abnormal findings, and varying needs to thorough information and pre-existing knowledge. This paper describes the development of a taxonomy that helps identify STF hazards at surface mining sites and provides recommendations to address these hazards to inform future evaluation tools. The objective was to develop a taxonomy that was self-explanatory, observable, repeatable, and solution oriented. In addition to current regulations, standards and guidelines were used to develop the taxonomy to ensure the focus was beyond basic compliance. A detailed description of how the STF hazard taxonomy was created for walkways, stairways, and fixed ladders is provided, along with two specific applications of its use. However, intensive soilless UA still depends on the use of fertilizers, which relies on depleting non-renewable resources such as phosphorous (P) and causes both local and global impact for its production and application. With the aim to reduce such impacts and encourage a more efficient use of nutrients, this study assesses the feasibility of using struvite precipitated from an urban wastewater treatment plant as the unique source of P fertilizer. To do so, we apply various quantities of struvite (ranging from 1 to 20 g/plant) to the substrate of a hydroponic Phaseolus vulgaris crop and determine the yield, water flows and P balances. The results show that treatments with more than 5 g of struvite per plant produced a higher yield (maximum of 181.41 g/plant) than the control (134.6 g/plant) with mineral fertilizer (KPO4H2). On the other hand, P concentration in all plant organs was always lower when using struvite than when using chemical fertilizer. Finally, the fact that different amounts of struvite remained undissolved in all treatments denotes the importance to balance between a correct P supply to the plant and a decrease of P lost through the leachates, based on the amount of struvite and the irrigated water. From this, enhanced coagulation models based on response surface methodology (RSM) were then developed to optimise coagulation at two water catchments (river and reservoir). The cluster analysis classified the water quality of the raw waters into two groups related to baseline and peak organic loads. The developed enhanced coagulation models were based on the turbidity, total organic carbon (TOC) and UV254 removals. Sensitivity analysis applied to the models (after predictors selection) determined the factors relative individual contributions for each DWTP scenario. Then, profile plots for enhanced coagulation were studied to identify the optimal levels for each case.
