This study was conducted to describe demographics, clinical features, and outcomes of 3827 confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 between March 12 and April 22, 2020 in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).Data were extracted from the Infectious Diseases Notification Surveillance System of the Department of Health. The descriptive analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences v26 and reported according to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) statement. We analyzed 3827 cases; 82% were men, 18% women, 14% UAE citizens, and 86% were of other nationalities. Most cases (72%) had lower exposure to low-risk occupations of infectious disease as per the classification of the department of health while high exposure risk occupations, which included healthcare worker accounts only for 3%. While 43% of cases were asymptomatic, 57% displayed symptoms, which were mostly mild. Only 12% of patients had comorbidities, which were significantly htomatic patients was identified by active case finding and contact tracing from the early period of the epidemic. A small percentage of severe, critical cases, and death reported in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi which may have been due to public health measures implemented for early detection, contact tracing, and treatment.
The relation between the expression of macrophage-colony stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF-1R) and prognosis of cancer patients has been evaluated in multiple studies, but the results remain controversial. We, therefore, performed a meta-analysis and systematic review to figure out the role of CSF-1R in the prognosis of patients with cancer.

Several databases were searched, including Web of Science, PubMed, and EMBASE. All human studies were published as full text. The Newcastle-Ottawa risk of bias scale was applied to evaluate the research. We extracted hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence interval (95% CI) which assessed progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in order to assess the impacts of CSF-1R on the prognosis of cancer patients.

A total of 12 citations were identified, with studies including 2260 patients in different cancer types that met the eligibility criteria. It was suggested in a pooled analysis that the over-expression of CSF-1R was significantly related to worse and a potential molecular target in the treatment of malignant tumors.
Lung ultrasound (LUS) has recently been used to identify interstitial lung disease (ILD). However, data on the role of LUS in the detection of ILD remain limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the diagnostic value of LUS compared with high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) in patients with ILD.The retrospective study was carried out by reviewing the medical records of patients with respiratory signs and symptoms discharged from the respiratory ward. Only patients with suspected ILD who underwent HRCT and LUS within a week were selected. ILD was identified with a semi-quantitative score of B-lines >5 and a Warrick score >0 points. The endpoints of LUS in diagnosing ILD (i.e., sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio [PLR], negative likelihood ratio [NLR], positive predictive value [PPV], and negative predictive value [NPV], and receiver operating characteristic [ROC] curve) was compared with that of HRCT. The reference standard used for the diagnosis of ILD was based on historults indicated that LUS is a useful technique to identify ILD. Considering its non-radiation, portable and non-invasive advantages, LUS should be recommended as a valuable screening tool in patients with suspected ILD.
Poststroke pneumonia (PSP) is a common complication of stroke and an important cause of death following stroke. However, the treatment of PSP remains inadequate due to severe impairment to the respiratory system by PSP. Thus, it is crucial to focus on preventing PSP to improve the prognosis of patients with stroke. This prospective single-center Cohort study aimed to investigate the risk factors for pulmonary infection following an ischemic stroke and identify whether PSP significantly influences the prognosis of patients after stroke.Altogether, 451 patients who were treated for acute ischemic stroke in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in China between April 2017 and April 2018 were enrolled. IU1 clinical trial Clinical data from the patients from admission to 3 months after discharge were collected. PSP was the primary outcome and poor prognosis or death at 3 months following discharge was the secondary outcome observed in this study. We performed logistic regression analyses to identify the risk(OR) = 2.884, 95% confidence intervals (CI) = 1.316-6.322), being bedridden (OR = 2.797, 95%CI = 1.322-5.921), subject to an invasive procedure (OR = 12.838, 95%CI = 6.296-26.178), massive cerebral infarction (OR = 3.994, 95%CI = 1.496-10.666), and dysphagia (OR = 2.441, 95%CI = 1.114-5.351). Pneumonia was a risk factor for poor prognosis (OR = 2.967, 95%CI = 1.273-6.915) and death (OR = 5.493, 95%CI = 1.825-16.53) after stroke.Hence, since pneumonia increases the risk of poor prognosis and death following acute ischemic stroke, preventing, and managing the risk factors for PSP may improve the prognosis and reduce the mortality after stroke.
Measuring patient satisfaction scores and interpreting factors that impact their variation is of importance as scores influence various aspects of health care administration. Our objective was to evaluate if Press Ganey scores differ between medical specialties.New patient visits between January 2014 and December 2016 at a single tertiary academic center were included in this study. Press Ganey scores were compared between specialties using a multivariable logistic mixed effects model. Secondary outcomes included a comparison between surgical versus non-surgical specialties, and pediatric versus adult specialties. Due to the survey's high ceiling effect, satisfaction was defined as a perfect total score.Forty four thousand four hundred ninety six patients met inclusion criteria. Compared to internal medicine, plastic surgery, general surgery, dermatology, and family medicine were more likely to achieve a perfect overall score, as, with odds ratios of 1.46 (P = .02), 1.29 (P = .002), 1.22 (P = .004), and 1.1c specialties, adult specialties were more likely to achieve satisfaction (OR 1.73; P  less then  .001). link2 There were no significant differences between surgical versus non-surgical specialties.Press Ganey scores systematically differ between specialties within the studied institution. These differences should be considered by healthcare systems that use patient satisfaction data to modify provider reimbursement.
To introduce a novel technique of using individualized 3D printing occipitocervical fusion instrument (3D-OCF) for the treatment of upper cervical deformity with atlantoaxial joint dislocation. The surgery for deformity of the craniocervical junction area is a challenge in the field of spine. If the surgical deviation is too large to injure the spinal cord or vertebral artery, it will cause catastrophic damage to the patient. Therefore, it is controversial whether these patients should undergo surgical treatment. We provide a novel surgical approach for the challenging upper cervical surgery through 3D-OCF and a typical patient. We present a 54-year-old female patient, who suffered from dizziness and numbness in her limbs for 8 months. After the patient was admitted, we performed the three-dimensional CT scan, modeled using Mimics software 17.0, and designed customized occipitocervical fusion instrument. Besides, we repeatedly perform simulated surgery based on 3D-printed models before surgery. The operative tf dizziness and numbness of limbs was obviously relieved, and the sense of banding in chest, abdomen, and ankle was disappeared. At the last follow-up, imaging showed that 3D-OCF had bone-integration and Syringomyelia was disappeared. link3 The patient's cervical JOA (Japanese Orthopaedic Association) score increased from 10 points to 17 points.Individualized 3D-OCF can improve the safety and accuracy of upper cervical surgery, reduce the operative time and the number of fluoroscopy. Our study provides a novel surgical approach for the challenging upper cervical surgery.
None of review has been conducted to compare the efficacy of interscalene blockade (ISB) with that of local infiltration analgesia (LIA) in patients undergoing total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). We thus conduct a high-quality meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to investigate which analgesic provides better pain relief.

A comprehensive search of the published literature in PUBMED, Scopus, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases will be performed. Only RCTs evaluating LIA versus ISB in TSA are included in this study. The primary outcome was pain score. Secondary outcome measures included opioid consumption, postoperative adverse event, and length of stay. The Cochrane risk of bias tool is used to evaluate the risk of bias of included RCTs by 2 independent reviewers.

The results of this research will be delivered in a peer-reviewed journal.

This study expects to provide credible and scientific evidence for the efficacy and safety of ISB and LIA for early postoperative pain control after TSA.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is the most common cause of low back pain and severely affects people's quality of life and ability to work. Although many clinical trials and medical reports conducted over the years have shown that acupuncture treatments are effective for LDH, the comparative effectiveness of these different acupuncture therapies is still unclear. This protocol of a network meta-analysis was designed to compare the effects and safety of acupuncture treatment regimens on LDH using both direct and indirect evidence.

This protocol is reported according to the 2015 PRISMA-P and PRISMA guidelines for acupuncture. Eight databases and two platforms will be searched for articles published from their establishment to 1 December 2020 with medical subject heading terms and keywords. Three reviewers will verify the eligible randomized controlled trials independently. NoteExpress (3.2.0) software will be utilized to manage the literature. The overall quality of evidence will be evaluated by Confidence In Network Meta-Analysis (CINeMA). Additionally, we will conduct a meta-analysis of the effectiveness, recurrence rate, and symptom score of acupuncture in treating LDH using Review Manager (RevManV.5.4.1) and R4.0.2 software (The R Foundation for Statistical Computing).

The results of the study will be published in journals or relevant conferences.

This proposed systematic review will evaluate the comparative efficacy and safety of various acupuncture methods and combination protocols for LDH.
