The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rapidly spread across worldwide, posing a significant challenge to public health. Several shortcomings in the existing infectious disease management system were exposed during the pandemic, which hindered the control of the disease globally. To cope with this issue, we propose a window-period framework to reveal the general rule of the progression of management of infectious diseases and to help with decision making at the early stage of epidemics with a focus on healthcare provisions.
The framework has two significant periods (dark-window period and bright-window period). Outbreak of COVID-19 in China was used as an example for the application of the framework.
The framework could reflect the progression of the epidemic objectively. The spread increased slowly in the dark-window period, but rocketed up in the bright-window period. The beginning of the bright-window period was the time when healthcare personnel were exposed to a substantially high risktively. The stem cells differentiate into osteoblasts or neurocytes is the key process for treatment of bone- or neural tissue-related diseases which is caused by ageing, fracture, injury, inflammation, etc Polycomb group complexes (PcGs), especially the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), act as pivotal epigenetic regulators by modifying key developmental regulatory genes during stem cells differentiation. In this review, we summarize the core subunits, the variants and the potential functions of PRC2. We also highlight the underlying mechanisms of PRC2 associated with the osteogenic and neurogenic differentiation of stem cells, including its interaction with non-coding RNAs, histone acetyltransferases, histone demethylase, DNA methyltransferase and polycomb repressive complex 1. This review provided a substantial information of epigenetic regulation mediated by PRC2 which leads to the osteogenic and neurogenic differentiation of stem cells.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of music on anxiety and pain among patients following cardiac surgery.
Cardiac surgery affects patients physically, psychologically and socially. Anxiety and pain are the usual problems among patients following cardiac surgery.
The study design is a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Excerpta Medica database (EMBASE) and Web of Science databases were searched for randomized controlled trials from January 2000 to December 2017.
The Cochrane collaboration guidelines were followed and reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Itacitinib in vivo The Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations (GRADE) approach was used to summarize the quality of evidence.
Fourteen studies were included in systematic review and 13 in meta-analysis. The meta-analysis revealed that there was a significant reduction in anxiety and pain among patients who received musical intervention compared with those who did not.
Music has positive benefits on anxiety and pain. However, well-designed and high-quality trials are needed to generate higher quality evidence.

The characterization of grape and apple yeasts was carried out to investigate the ecology of basidiomycetes associated with crop environment and fermenting juice.
A total of 15 basidiomycetous strains were analysed for plant-growth promoting properties, sensitivity to fungicides and features related to their survival in fermenting juice (low pH, SO
and ethanol sensitivity). Only one strain displayed 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase activity, whereas other strains were able to produce ammonia and indole-3-acetic acid, solubilize calcium phosphate, and display catalase activity and antagonism against Botrytis cinerea. Strains presented great variability in their sensitivity to fungicides. Rhodotorula mucilaginosa Yl26 and Sporobolomyces agrorum PYCC 8108
displayed low sensitivity to all fungicides, with high tolerance to SO
and ethanol, and were able to survive in fermenting grape and apple juice.
This study revealed the diversity of basidiomycetous yeasts in the important physiological traits that affect their growth, either in the crop environment or in fermenting juice.
Identify the possibility of selective effects of fungicide treatments on basidiomycetous yeasts that could offer benefits for grapevines and apple trees, as well as the survival of strains that are better adapted to fermenting juice and that potentially have a role in the aroma of beverages.

This study aimed to clarify how the COVID-19 pandemic impacts psychological stress levels in postpartum women in Yokohama, Japan.
We retrospectively compared the rates of positive screening tests for postpartum depression (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale score of 9 or more or self-injury factors) and liaison/psychiatric intervention rates between pre-pandemic and pandemic groups of postpartum women who delivered a live birth at our tertiary perinatal center in Yokohama, Japan between January 2019 and May 2020. Those whose postpartum health screening was performed in 2019 (March-June 2019) were considered the pre-pandemic group, and those whose screening was performed between March and June 2020 were considered the pandemic group. Adjustments were made for maternal background, pregnancy, and delivery outcomes, including a history of psychiatric disorders, complications, preterm delivery, NICU admission, and maternal postpartum complications, and the data were analyzed using a logistic regression analysis.
