The surface plasma resonance (SPR) of Ag/Al2O3 showed an obvious blue shift, and then red shift suddenly, which is affected by the competition between damping resonance and refractive index. When the blue shift occurs, the change of wavelength (∆λ) is exponentially related to the diameter (D). The modulation of LSPR of the proposed composite nano-metal materials will have a potential application in SPR sensor and surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).A two-step synthetic method to prepare a highly sensitive and selective chemosensor 5'-hydroxymethyl fluorescein (5'-HMF) is described herein. This sensor was explored as a colorimetric sensor for naked-eye detection of cyanide ion in the biological fluid as well as in organic and aqueous media. The addition of cyanide ion to 5'-HMF resulted in a rapid change in color in aqueous medium from light green to dark fluorescent green, and in acetonitrile from light pink to purple. A significant bathochromic shift in the absorption spectra enables cyanide ion to be detected by naked eyes in water and acetonitrile without any interference of the competing anions such as, AcO-, F- and SCN- in aqueous solution. Using the 1HNMR titration experiments and Job's plot from absorbance spectroscopy, the interaction of CN- ion with 5'-HMF has been investigated and binding stoichiometry was found to be 12 (5'-HMF to CN-). The limit of detection (LOD) of the sensor for CN- was 3.68 μM in water with a linearity (R2 = 0.9923) in the range of 0.50 to 30.0 μM concentration assuming 12 (5'-HMF to CN-) binding stoichiometry. In addition, the sensor 5'-HMF sensed the CN- ion in human saliva with the LOD as 7.0 μM in aq. medium.Due to the Raman signal coexists with other scatter spectra which leads to the low ratio of the wanted signal and high background, the appropriate method should be applied to enhance this ratio. The nature of raw spectra is a multi-source system, so its determinacy must be ensured by multi-input. Besides, the faithfulness of output should be provided. Then, the huge fall within the frequencies of Raman and background almost satisfies separating demand for independent component analysis (ICA), and this analysis can give help to the achievement of the two type signals classing and estimate the optimal number of source and match ICA output signals to Raman or background. Thus, based on ICA and the mixing-entropy criteria, the background and Raman adapting calibration kit (BRACK) method is proposed, which is a kind of multiple raw spectral inputs and multiple output (MIMO) method. This method firstly divides the raw data into two parts of Raman and background by ICA, identifies Raman signal by entropy criterion, then restores the part of Raman signal. BRACK method obtains several advantages, for instance, well-adapted, no need for any additional option or extra-intervention, high fidelity, and no unwanted external information. In principle, the correction of background and Raman signals can be expected to be completed by BRACK method.Enzymatic biofuel cells (EBFCs) with or without a membrane to separate the anodic and cathodic compartments generally suffered from high internal resistance or interactive interference, both of which restricted the improvement of their performance. Herein, a smart membrane-less EBFC was engineered based on anode-driven controlled release of cathodic acceptor via pH-responsive metal-organic framework ([Fe(CN)6]3-@ZIF-8) nanocarriers. The glucose anodic oxidation would produce gluconic acid accompanied by the change in pH value from neutral to the acidic case, which could drive the degradation of [Fe(CN)6]3-@ZIF-8 nanocarriers and further realize the controlled release of cathodic acceptor [Fe(CN)6]3-. More importantly, compared with controlled EBFC with or without membrane, the power output of the as-proposed EBFC enhanced at least 700 times due to the seamless electronic communication. Therefore, a systematic literature review was carried out using four key databases. Meta-analysis was used to reach conclusions about the size of the effects and moderators. There is an increasing body of literature on this topic with studies performed to date having produced contradictory results. Objective To synthesize the literature about vitamin D deficiency and its association with preeclampsia and prematurity in order to determine if maternal vitamin D insufficiency and/or deficiency during pregnancy is associated with the prevalence of preeclampsia and prematurity. Design A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational and interventional studies. Methods Two independent researchers reviewed the included studies according to PRISMA reporting guidelines. A protocol for this review was registered in PROSPERO with the registration number "CRD42019136318". Three electronic databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect and Web of Science); were searched in order to identify eligible studies. Observmaturity and vitamin D were only associated when maternal vitamin D concentrations was less then 75 nmol/L. Random-effects meta-analysis found no significant association between vitamin D, preeclampsia and prematurity in either observational or interventional studies. Conclusion Higher vitamin D concentrations during pregnancy could be associated with a decreased risk of preeclampsia and prematurity but statistical significance of associations depends on the study design used. Well-designed clinical trials with vitamin D supplementation are needed in order to better define associations.Introduction Young adults reporting combined alcohol and marijuana use indicate greater frequency of other substances, binge drinking rates, and alcohol-related negative consequences. Emotion regulation (ER) difficulties are linked to alcohol use and abuse, with effects commonly attributed to increased mindfulness and distress tolerance abilities. Evidence is mixed, however, regarding the interactive impact of substance use and mindfulness facets on mental health outcomes. Methods The current study utilized a cross-sectional design to examine mental health outcomes predicted by ER and mindfulness facets in 229 college students across three substance use categories (no use; alcohol/marijuana; illicit use with alcohol/marijuana). Results For participants reporting no substance use, linear stepwise regressions found that Non-Judging was significantly related to reduced anxiety, while Acting with Awareness was related to greater anxiety; for those reporting alcohol/marijuana use only, Non-Judging significantly related to lower stress and anxiety; for those reporting illicit substance use with alcohol/marijuana, Acting with Awareness was related to lower stress. Describing was related to higher distress across groups, and Observing was not significantly related to any aspect of mental health across groups. ER difficulties were positively related to depression, anxiety and stress across substance use groups, with one exception ER difficulty was not significantly associated with depression for no use. Discussion Mindfulness interventions should focus on certain facets, such as Non-Judging, in order to improve psychological functioning across various groups of substance use. Additionally, ER difficulties are closely linked to alcohol, marijuana, and illicit drug use.
