However, evidence for the contextual similarity effect in negative priming is mixed. The present study tested the hypothesis that attended contextual cues are more likely to be encoded into a distractor representation, and thus, are more likely to modulate the negative priming effect. By manipulating whether the contextual cues were relevant to the task demand in Section 1, and by manipulating whether cues had an abrupt or simultaneous onset, and by analysing reaction time (RT) distributions of the data in Section 2, our results demonstrated that attended cues produced the contextual similarity effect in negative priming, especially when RTs were long.
Primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) is associated with the highest risk for developing venous thrombosis compared with other nephrotic diseases. The aim of the study was to assess the predictive value of the pathognomonic anti-phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) antibody with regard to incidence of venous thrombosis in PMN.

A total of 365 in-hospital patients diagnosed with PMN were enrolled in the study. Anti-PLA2R antibody was detected by commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Multivariate logistic regression was used to detect the independent risk factors for venous thrombosis.

Thirty-seven patients (10.14%) had venous thrombosis. Patients with venous thrombosis had higher levels of cholesterol (CHOL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and D-dimer than those without venous thrombosis (
 < .05). Patients with venous thrombosis had significantly lower levels of albumin (23.95 ± 5.53 vs. 26.18 ± 6.59 g/L,
 = .049). No significant differences were found in proteinuria, serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate, platelets, and fibrinogen between patients with and without thrombosis. Anti-PLA2R antibody levels in patients with venous thrombosis were significantly higher than in patients without it (
 = .002). In the univariate logistic regression, Ln anti-PLA2R antibody (OR 1.340;
 = .004), albumin (OR 0.945;

One advantage to the megastudy is that existing data can be reanalysed in light of novel hypotheses. In the current study, recognition memory data for 4819 words were obtained. Multiple regression analyses assessed the influence of emotional variables on recognition memory performance (i.e., hits minus false alarm rates H-FAs) for the words. The predictor variables included valence, arousal, extremity of valence (the degree of negative or positive meaning), context valence (the degree to which a word typically appears in positive or negative contexts), context arousal (how emotionally reactive are contexts in which the word appears), and context extremity of valence (the degree of this typical emotional context). This study extended earlier work by implementing more thorough controls, maximising the number of words, assessing a more comprehensive set of emotional variables, and introducing the context extremity of valence variable. We found extremity of valence, context extremity of valence, context valence, and context arousal all were significant predictors of H-FAs. We interpret the results in terms of the dual-coding theory and hub and spoke model. We also explain how single-process models could accommodate the results in terms of context diversity.Most athletes use dietary supplements (DS) to improve health and performance beyond what can be achieved through diet. Improvements in health and exercise performance through the use of DS are especially attractive to older athletes (OA) challenged with age-related declines. Two-hundred cyclists, runners, and triathletes (females = 108; age = 39.4 ± 13.5) completed a questionnaire regarding the prevalence and type of DS currently used, in addition to variables associated with using DS such as motivation and sources of information. Overall, 78.0% of athletes reported current DS use. OA used more DS (Total DS = 4.3 ± 3.0) than younger athletes (2.7 ± 1.8, p  less then  0.001), with ages 40-49 and 50-59 using more DS than ages 18-29 and 30-39 (p  less then  0.05). The majority of athletes (53.8%) used ≥ 3 DS. Age was the only significant predictor of total DS use (p = 0.002); OA used ≥ 3 DS more than younger (p  less then  0.001). Specifically, more athletes 40-49 (67.5%) and 50-59 (76.2%) used ≥ 3 DS compared to 18-29 (33.3%, p = 0.003). More OA used electrolytes (p = 0.005), probiotics (p = 0.045), melatonin (p = 0.004), and vitamin D (p = 0.016) than younger athletes. Motivations to use DS were related to age and were supplement specific. Sources of DS information varied by sex more than age. Age is a significant determining factor for DS use in a sample of cyclists, runners, and triathletes. The prevalence and trends of DS warrant further investigation into the benefits and risks of DS to develop safe, targeted, and age-specific DS strategies on a recreative competitive level.

NCT01665144.Pregnancy complicated with hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare condition. This case report presents an extremely rare case with the co-occurrence of HHT and congenital heart disease. In this report, a 43-year-old woman at 36 + 4 weeks of gestation experienced haemoptysis with a volume of approximately 300 ml for the first time. Uncommonly, her transthoracic echocardiogram revealed a previously unrecognized atrial septal defect (ASD) and pulmonary hypertension (PH) for the first time at 36 + 1 weeks of gestation. Chest computed tomography revealed an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the right lower lobe of the lung. Due to concerns of rebleeding of ruptured pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs), the patient underwent a caesarean section at 36 + 6 weeks of gestation. A healthy male infant weighing 2800 g was delivered. To the best of our knowledge, there have been few reports about HHT with ASDs and PH during advanced pregnancy. This current case report highlights the necessity for clinicians to pay considerable attention to cardiac structural abnormalities, which can worsen PAVM in patients with HHT during pregnancy, for whom terminating the pregnancy in time may reduce the risk of PAVM rupture.Moisture recycling plays a crucial role in regional hydrological budgets. The isotopic composition of precipitation has long been considered as a good tracer to investigate moisture recycling. This study quantifies the moisture recycling fractions (fr) in the Lake Taihu region using spatial variations of deuterium excess in precipitation (dP) and surface water vapour flux (dE). Results show that dP at a site downwind of the lake was higher than that at an upwind site, indicating the influence of lake moisture recycling. Spatial variations in dP after sub-cloud evaporation corrections were 2.3, 1.4 and 3.2 ‰, and dE values were 27.4, 32.3 and 31.4 ‰ for the first winter monsoon, the summer monsoon and the second winter monsoon, respectively. Moisture recycling fractions were 0.48 ± 0.13, 0.07 ± 0.03 and 0.38 ± 0.05 for the three monsoon periods, respectively. Both using the lake parameterization kinetic fractionation factors or neglecting sub-cloud evaporation would decrease fr, and the former has a larger influence on the fr calculation. The larger fr in the winter monsoon periods was mainly caused by lower specific humidity of airmasses but comparable moisture uptake along their trajectories compared to the summer monsoon period.
