Systematic search of Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, PubMed, Dimensions, Global Health, NHS Health Technology Assessment, Allied and Complementary Medicine, and OVID nursing database from inception to June 15, 2021, without language restrictions.

Two reviewers independently identified parallel or crossover randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effectiveness of DPT in LET. The search identified 245 records; data from 8 studies (354 patients) were included.

DPT is superior to active controls at 12 weeks for decreasing pain intensity and functioning by margins that meet criteria for clinical relevance in the treatment of LET. Improving economy and well-being in developing nations like India has expanded life expectancy and changed the attention from transmittable to non transmittable diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Tabebuia impetiginosa has been utilized by cultivators as a general tonic, immunostimulant, adaptogen and also in motor disorders. The present investigation was to explore the antiparkinsonian activity of Tabebuia impetiginosa bark by experimental methods.

Control group-I was served with distilled water. Group-III served with standard drug (Apomorphine 40mg/kg, s.c). Group IV and V received aqueous extract of Tabebuia impetiginosa bark in doses of 300 and 500mg/kg/day respectively. Tremor, hypokinesia, muscular rigidity, catatonia, postural immobility, postural instability and catalepsy were assessed for antiparkinsonian activity.

The bark extract served group exhibited the increased levels of dopamine (5700±1.84ng/g) when compared to control groups (4300±3.17ng/g). The extract at both the doses displayed a significant reduction in postural flexion, moderate decrease in tremor, muscular rigidity and postural immobility scores but do not exhibit significant lowering of hypokinesia score in reserpine induced Parkinsonian model. The reduction in catatonia and catalepsy scores is more remarkable in case of high dose of extract (500mg/kg) compared to standard drug in Neuroleptic induced Parkinsonism.

Local recurrence of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) after endoscopic resection does not have an established treatment. The efficacy and safety of repeat endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for recurrent ESCC were determined in the study.

Forty-three consecutive patients with 45 locally recurrent superficial ESCC lesions undergoing repeat ESD and 909 first ESD lesions for propensity score matching (PSM) at Zhongshan Hospital between January 2011 and January 2020 were retrospectively enrolled. After PSM (12), operation-related parameters were compared between repeat ESD and first ESD. In the repeat ESD group, the Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank tests were used for identification of risk factors for local recurrence after repeat ESD.

As compared with propensity score-matched first ESD, rates of complete resection (86.7% vs 97.8%, P= .02) and curative resection (86.7% vs 96.7%, P= .06) were lower and procedure duration (54.8 ± 21.7 minutes vs 46.2 ± 20.6 minutes, P= .67) and hospital stay (4.3 ± 1.8 days vs 2.9 ± 1.4 days, P= .25) were longer in the repeat ESD group. The en-bloc resection rate (93.3% vs 98.8%, P > .11) remained comparable. Adverse events including bleeding (4.4% vs 0%, P= .11), perforation (.0% vs .0%, P > .99), and stricture (6.7% vs 2.2%, P= .33) presented with no difference. The 5-year overall survival rate and recurrence-free survival rate for repeat ESD was 100% and 86.0%, respectively. Multiplicity was significantly associated with recurrence after repeat ESD (P= .01).

This study included 302 couples seeking infertility treatment in the China National Birth Cohort Study, from Shanghai, China, who gave birth to singleton infants between 2018 and 2021. Clinical data were collected from medical records. We measured the concentrations of six nonspecific dialkyl phosphates (DAP) metabolites of OPs [diethylthiophosphate (DETP), diethylphosphate (DEP), diethyldithiophosphate (DEDTP), dimethyldithiophosphate (DMTP), dimethylphosphate (DMP), and dimethyldithiophosphate (DMDTP)] in maternal urine. DMDTP and DEDTP were precluded from further analyses due to the low detection rates. Generalized linear models (GLMs) and weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression analyses were performed to examine the individual aration was associated with shortened gestational age and increased risk of preterm birth, and the association was more pronounced among boys than girls.Human exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) may increase risk for chronic disease. Using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013-2016, we examined associations of dietary patterns with exposure to non-persistent EDCs potentially consumed through diet. EDCs were measured in spot urine samples. Diet was assessed using 24-h recalls. Multivariable linear regression was used to examine associations of three healthy diet scores [Healthy Eating Index (HEI), relative Mediterranean Diet (rMED), and Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension] and fast-food consumption with EDCs. In fully adjusted models, no diet was associated with exposure to the bisphenols, phthalates, or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons examined. A 1-point increase in rMED (of 18 possible points) was associated with 2.7% (95% CI 1.7%, 3.8%to reduce dietary exposures to potentially harmful EDCs.Environmental pollutants (EPOLs), such as phthalates, volatile organic compounds, phenols, parabens, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, pyrethroids, and environmental tobacco smoke, are highly heterogeneous compounds. Recently, attention has been drawn to the assessment of the combinatory effects of multiple EPs. To correlate multiple exposures with potential health implications, advanced comprehensive analytical methods covering multiclass EPOLs are essential. However, because of several technical problems associated with enzyme hydrolysis, simultaneous extraction, and multiresidue liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis, it is difficult to establish a comprehensive method covering a number of EPOLs in a single sample preparation and analytical run. We developed tandem hybrid hydrolysis, modified direct injection, and a comprehensive mobile phase to overcome these technical problems and established a comprehensive analytical method for simultaneous biomonitoring of multiclass EPOLs. Tandem hybrid hydrolysis using β-glucuronidase and consecutive acid hydrolysis allowed selective hydrolysis of glucuronide- and sulfate-conjugated metabolites without phthalate degradation. The comprehensive mobile phase composed of 0.01% acetic acid and acetonitrile enabled us to simultaneously analyze 86 EPOLs, with good chromatographic behavior and ionization efficiency. Modified direct injection allowed a small amount of sample and simultaneous urinary extraction. The method was validated and applied to 39 urine samples from 19 mother-newborn pairs for multiple exposure assessment. Results showed that BP-3, a general component in sunblock products, and monoethyl phthalate, a metabolite of diethyl phthalate, exhibit a clear positive correlation between mothers and newborns. Therefore, the developed method has potential as a novel analytical tool for long-term, large-scale, and data-rich human biomonitoring of EPOLs.Groundwater is an important source of water, even the only source in some arid areas. However, climate changing and ecosystem damage induced by pollution aggravate water resource crisis. The "polluter pays" principle is deeply rooted in efforts to manage the polluted sites, particularly in the soil-groundwater environment. Unfortunately, there is no ecosystem damage compensation mechanism generally accepted by all stakeholders. In this study, we establish an assessment framework and valuation methods for ecosystem damage induced by soil-groundwater pollution in an arid climate area based on a "pollution source → target (soil-groundwater) → receptor (humans, animals, and plants) → damages → stakeholders (human society and ecosystem)" model that is usually applied in groundwater risk assessment research. Five economic loss are included in the valuation methods (1) human health loss, (2) emergency disposal cost, (3) direct economic loss, (4) ecological restoration cost, and (5) ecosystem services loss. We apply the framework to a case study in an arid climate area, northwest China and calculate the total economic loss from ecosystem damage in the case study at 12.
