Additionally, we discuss the direct interaction between Keap1-Nrf2 and the mammalian target of rapamycin pathway. In summary, we focus on recent progress in research on the Keap1-Nrf2 system involving oxidative stress and aging, providing an empirical basis for the development of antiaging drugs.Identification of unknown bacteria is an integral module in most introductory Microbiology laboratory courses. This laboratory activity typically involves identifying bacteria based on Gram staining for morphology and gram reaction followed by studying their biochemical characteristics. When instruction moved to online mode earlier this year due to the pandemic, we faced the challenge of moving this hands-on, skill-intensive laboratory activity to remote mode. Here we describe the modular approach we designed to implement the midterm practical of bacterial identification remotely while trying to keep the online format as close to the in-person format as possible in a multi-section synchronous laboratory course. This virtual module was implemented successfully in the summer and fall 2020 semesters.Thin-walled curved box beam structures especially rectangular members are widely used in mechanical and architectural structures and other engineering fields because of their high strength-to-weight ratios. In this paper, we present experimental and theoretical analysis methods for the static analysis of thin-walled curved rectangular-box beams under in-plane bending based on 11 feature deformation modes. As to the numerical investigations, we explored the convergence and accuracy analysis by normal finite element analysis, higher-order assumed strain plane element, deep collocation method element, and inverse finite element method, respectively. The out-of-plane and in-plane characteristic deformation vector modes derived by the theoretical formula are superimposed by transforming the axial, tangential, and the normal deformation values into scalar tensile and compression amounts. A one-dimensional deformation experimental test theory is first proposed, formulating the specific contributions of various deformation modes. In this way, the magnitude and trend of the influence of each low-order deformation mode on the distortion and warping in the actual deformation are determined, and the significance of distortion and warping in the actual curved beams subjected to the in-plane loads is verified. This study strengthens the deformation theory of rectangular box-type thin-walled curved beams under in-plane bending, thus providing a reference for analyzing the mechanical properties of curved-beam structures.Among Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) complications, vaginal discharge is considered very frequent, especially for submucosal fibroids. Until now, it was reported as clear odorless viscous material. To our knowledge, we describe the first report of intrauterine microsphere migration after UAE. A 45-year-old-woman was admitted to our hospital complaining metromenorrhagia, menstrual cramping, pelvic pain and dyspareunia. After a preprocedural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) study, she underwent a superselective transradial UAE using 500-700 µm and 700-900 µm microspheres with a good morphological results. At 2-month follow-up, she complained viscous vaginal discharge with "strange pink stiff sphere of about 2 mm in diameter". A post-procedural-MRI showed fibroid migration towards the uterine cavity, a frequent occurrence especially for submucosal fibroids. The microspheres transvascular migration outside the vessel wall was already reported in a study performed in sheep. Our hypothesis is that the phenomenon of transvascular migration along with the fibroid migration towards the uterine cavity after UAE, may have led the migration of the microspheres directly into the vaginal cavity causing chronic vaginal discharge with pink stiff sphere. Vaginal discharge mixed with "sphere of particles" should be included among the UAE late complication especially for intramural and/or submucosal fibroids with distance to the endometrium less than 2.4 mm at pre-procedural MRI.
This study aimed to validate Italian versions of Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs (LANSS) scale and Pain DETECT questionnaire (PD-Q) and evaluate the ability of these questionnaires to discriminate between nociceptive and neuropathic pain.

Multicenter prospective validation cohort study.
One hundred patients were included with a diagnosis formulated by a specialist in outpatient settings (50 affected by knee osteoarthritis as nociceptive pain and 50 affected by trigeminal or postherpetic neuralgia as neuropathic pain).

The Italian versions of both questionnaires according to Italian cultural characteristics were performed according to the following steps (1) translation of the questionnaires from English into Italian; (2) review by a bilingual individual for consistency; (3) proposed version after a mail round between experts; (4) backward translation; (5) comparison with the original English version by the experts; (6) approved version of the questionnaires. One hundred patients wemilar to those observed in the original study. Furthermore, we have reported the test-retest reliability for both questionnaires, not addressed in original validation studies.
This study validated the Italian versions of LANSS and PD-Q as reliable instruments with good psychometric characteristics, for pain evaluation, discriminating between nociceptive and neuropathic pain. Our findings were similar to those observed in the original study. Furthermore, we have reported the test-retest reliability for both questionnaires, not addressed in original validation studies.Low back pain is one of the major occupational health problems ranked the highest in terms of years lived with disability, and it has an economic burden on individuals and society in general. Hairdressers are high-risk professionals, but they are usually getting less attention in research and policy actions. The objective of this study is to assess the magnitude and associated factors of low back pain among hairdressers working in female beauty salons of Mekelle, Northern Ethiopia. A cross-sectional study was employed from January up to March 2018. A simple random sampling was applied to select 344 participants. Interviewer-administered, pretested, and structured questionnaire was used. Bivariate and multivariate binary logistic regression analyses were performed using SPSS version 23. A p value of less then 0.05 was used to declare statistical significance. A total of 314 hairdressers participated, with a 91.3% response rate. The study found that the prevalence of low back pain was 47.5% with 95% CI (41.8-53.1). Marital status (AOR 0.40, 95% CI (0.23-0.71)), awkward posture (AOR 2.59, 95%CI (1.45-4.63)), working greater than 4 days in a week (AOR 5.12, 95% CI (1.94-13.70)), the task of washing the client's hair (AOR 4.45, 95% CI (1.93-10.26)), having adjustable washing basin (AOR 0.35, 95% CI (0.18-0.69)), job stress (AOR 0.45, 95% CI (0.27-0.77)), and job satisfaction (AOR 0.58, 95% CI (0.34-0.98)) were factors that show a statistically significant association with low back pain. This study found that low back pain is a major health problem among hairdressers. BI-1347 mouse Marital status, awkward postures, working days per week, the task of washing the client's hair, adjustable washing basin, job stress, and job satisfaction show a strong association with low back pain. The result suggests that effective intervention strategies for low back pain need to include ergonomic improvements and psychosocial and behavioral aspects of the participants.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a typical heterogeneous condition caused by environmental and genetic risk factors.

We investigated extrinsic (environmental) and intrinsic (genetic) factors contributing to the development of COPD in a nonsmoker road-working population in Northeast China.

The target population was divided into a COPD group and an exposed control group. Another healthy nonroad working nonsmoker control group was also included for environmental factor comparison. Peripheral blood was collected and analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for inorganic elements of PM2.5, and microarray, rt-PCR, and Multiplex ELISA for genetic factors.

Forty-three COPD road workers, thirty-nine non-COPD road workers, and 52 age and gender-matched healthy nonroad workers were enrolled. There were significantly higher levels in all 24 inorganic elements in the COPD group compared with the healthy control group except potassium and manganese, while the majority of inorganic elements were similar between the COPD group and the exposed control group except in aluminum and cobalt. There were 39 genes showing significant differences between the COPD group and the exposed control group. Collagen, type XV, alpha 1 (COL15A1), Meis homeobox 1 (MEIS1), carbonyl reductase 3 (CBR3), and amine oxidase, copper containing 3 (AOC3) were confirmed by rt-PCR to be differentially expressed. Their correlations with blood cytokines were also evaluated.

Aluminum might contribute to the development of COPD in the road-working population. CBR3 and AOC3 seem expressed in different patterns than previously reported, evidenced by their correlation with proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Heart failure (HF) is a common cardiovascular disease, which is related to systemic inflammation for decades. Fibrinogen (FIB) is a sign of thrombosis and inflammation, which is associated with the prognosis of many diseases. Nevertheless, the role of fibrinogen level in the prognosis of critically ill patients with acute exacerbation of chronic heart failure is unclear.

The data are from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC III) database, which is a freely accessible critical care database. The primary outcome in our study was 90-day mortality. The prognostic value of fibrinogen was analyzed with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, Kaplan-Meier curve, and Cox model.

A total of 554 patients were included. Patients were divided into two groups, low fibrinogen level (<284 mg/dl) and high fibrinogen level (≥284 mg/dl), through the cut-off value of the ROC curve. The area under the ROC curve of fibrinogen for predicting 90-day mortality was 0.65 (95% CI 0.59-0.70ospective studies and longer follow-up time. The conclusions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) following the peer review of the initial risk assessments carried out by the competent authorities of the rapporteur Member State, the Netherlands and co-rapporteur Member State, Greece, for the pesticide active substance potassium hydrogen carbonate and the considerations as regards the inclusion of the substance in Annex IV of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 are reported. The context of the peer review was that required by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 844/2012, as amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2018/1659. The conclusions were reached on the basis of the evaluation of the representative uses of potassium hydrogen carbonate as a fungicide on strawberry, wine and table grapes, pome fruits, stone fruits, ornamentals and cucurbits. The reliable end points, appropriate for use in regulatory risk assessment, are presented. Missing information identified as being required by the regulatory framework is listed. Concerns are not identified.
