The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a partially covered metallic tracheal Y-shaped stent for the treatment of high cervical gastro-tracheal fistula (GTF) and tracheo-esophageal fistula (TEF). From January 2017 to January 2019, 16 patients with high cervical GTF and TEF received partially covered metallic Y-shaped stent placement under fluoroscopic guidance. The technical and clinical success rates, incidence of major complications, and survival outcomes were analyzed. Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score and quality of life (SF-36 questionnaire) were compared pre and post stent placement. Technical and clinical success rates were 100% and 81.3%, respectively. Major complications (severe tumor ingrowth, mucostasis, hyperplastic granulation tissue) occurred in 7/16 (43.8%) patients. ECOG score and 5 of the 8 domains of the SF-36 (physical function, role physical, general health, vitality, social function) were significantly improved at 1 month after treatment (P &lor ingrowth, mucostasis, hyperplastic granulation tissue) occurred in 7/16 (43.8%) patients. EPZ005687 ECOG score and 5 of the 8 domains of the SF-36 (physical function, role physical, general health, vitality, social function) were significantly improved at 1 month after treatment (P  less then  .01). During the median follow-up period of 8.3 months, 9 patients were alive. Median overall survival was 10.3 months (95% CI, 8.0-12.6). The newly designed partially covered tracheal Y-shaped stent appears to be effective and safe for treatment of high cervical GTF and TEF.
Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) occurs commonly after cardiac surgery. Studies suggest that corticosteroid can reduce the incident of POAF. However, the results remain controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety corticosteroid on the prevention of POAF following cardiac surgery.

Randomized controlled trials were identified through a systematic literature search. Two investigators independently searched articles, extracted data, and assessed the quality of included studies. Primary outcome was the incidence of POAF as well as length of hospital stay and intensive care unit stay, wound and other infection, mortality, duration of ventilation, myocardial infarction, gastrointestinal complications, high blood sugar, stroke, and postoperative bleeding.

Fourteen studies with 13,803 patients were finally involved in the present study. Overall, corticosteroid significantly decreased the risk of POAF (relative risk [RR], 0.7; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.55-0.89; P = .0ial to POAF development in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The strength of this association remains uncertain because of statistical and clinical heterogeneity among the included studies.
Recent studies have reported that lncRNA (long noncoding RNAs) antisense non-coding RNA in the INK4 locus (ANRIL) plays important roles in the development of atherosclerosis through regulating cell apoptosis, proliferation, and adhesion. GWAS (genome-wide association studies) identified common genetic variants within ANRIL could confer risk of ischemic stroke (IS) in southern Sweden.

We performed a case-control study, including 567 IS patients and 552 healthy controls from unrelated northern Chinese Han population, aiming to explore the association between lncRNA ANRIL rs2383207, rs4977574 polymorphisms and the risk of IS. Subsequently we implemented a meta-analysis to further assess the relationship of these variants and the disease.

In our case-control study, no significant associations were observed in all models between above 2 polymorphisms and IS. Next in our subgroup analysis, we detected significant association between GA genotype of rs4977574 and the increased risk of LAA-IS (large-artery ather may be associated with susceptibility to LAA-IS in Chinese Han population.
Our findings indicated G allele of lncRNA ANRIL rs4977574 could increase the risk of IS, and the variant may be associated with susceptibility to LAA-IS in Chinese Han population.
Ustekinumab (UST) is approved for the treatment of moderate and severe Crohn disease (CD). Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) can help monitor the therapeutic effects of biologics. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of UST-treated CD patients and to determine the UST trough level in clinical and corticosteroid-free remission. This retrospective study included patients with moderate and severe active disease (AD) treated intravenously with a weight-adapted induction dose of UST. The maintenance therapy consisted of 90 mg UST subcutaneously at week 8 and thereafter every 8 or 12 weeks, depending on the clinical response. Clinical and corticosteroid-free remission, Harvey-Bradshaw-Index (HBI), UST trough level, and further laboratory parameters were measured just before the injection of UST at each follow-up evaluation until week 40.37 CD patients with a median HBI of 9 at week 0 were included in the study. Starting from 24% at the beginning of the monitoring period, and 38% o with CD.
Swallowing dysfunction is a common dysfunction after stroke, and its incidence exceeds 50%. Aspiration pneumonia and malnutrition induced by dysphagia not only cause psychological shock to patients after stroke, but also burden the medical payment. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation, which stimulates the cortex and cortical bulb pathways to improve swallowing function, has been one of the emerging treatments for the post-stroke deglutition disorder. These therapy operators require the proficiency in professional knowledge, limiting clinical large sample studies, so there is an absence of evidence-based medicine. The research is to evaluate the effectiveness of neuromuscular electrical stimulations combined with swallowing-related muscle training to treat swallowing dysfunction after stroke.

Computer retrieval performed in the 9 databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of science, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials, China Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), China Knowledge Network Database (CNKI), Wanfanry, the fixed effect model is selected. Then, RevMan5.3 software was used when analyzing included literature. Meanwhile, the analysis results were illustrated by drawing.

This review will summarize available trials aimed at providing a comprehensive estimation of effectiveness of neuromuscular electrical stimulation associated with swallowing muscle training for post-stroke dysphagia.

This review based on a comprehensive analysis of currently published randomized controlled trials on post-stroke dysphagia, that provide reliable evidence-based medicine evidence for the efficacy of neuromuscular electrical stimulation associated with swallowing rehabilitation training.

Pharmacopuncture is a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine, which involves the injection of herbal extracts into acupuncture points (acupoints). Pharmacopuncture has become one of the major therapeutic tools used in Korea; however, safety is one of the major concerns associated with it. We aim to systematically review clinical studies on the adverse events of pharmacopuncture in Korea.

To collect data on the incidence and characteristics of adverse events (AEs) and to evaluate pharmacopuncture safety, 2 or more researchers will conduct a comprehensive search of pertinent English and Korean databases using the keywords "pharmacopuncture" and "adverse events." Regardless of the participants' conditions or treatment types, we will include clinical studies on the AEs of pharmacopuncture. Studies that were not conducted in Korea, and acupoint injections containing Western medications, vitamins, or autologous serum will be excluded from this study. The severity of AEs will be classified using the commovide clearer evidence of the safety of pharmacopuncture. The results of this study will be useful for traditional medical doctors and patients who use such treatments and interventions.Systematic Review Registration Open Science Foundation (osf.io/umhyz).
Our aim in this study was to investigate the relationship between serum ischemia modified albumin (IMA) levels with oxidative stress parameters [protein carbonyl (PCO), advanced protein oxidation products (AOPPs), malondialdehyde (MDA), total nitric oxide (NOx), prooxidant-antioxidant balance (PAB), and ferric reducing of antioxidant power (FRAP)] in breast cancer (BC) and colon cancer (CC).In total, 90 patients undergoing surgical treatment for BC (n = 45) or CC (n = 45) and 35 healthy controls were included in this cross-sectional study. The serum PCO, AOPPs, MDA, NOx, PAB, and IMA levels were all statistically significantly higher in the cancer patients than in the control group. MDA, NOx, and PAB levels were significantly lower in the BC group than in the CC group. FRAP values were statistically significantly lower in both the CC group and the BC group compared to the control. IMA showed a weak positive correlation with CA-19.9 (r = 0.423 P = .007) but a moderate positive correlation with tumor size in toxidant condition that favored oxidative stress. The ROC analysis indicated that IMA sensitivity above 80% could be used as a secondary biomarker in diagnosis.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), with the improvement of diagnosis and treatment level in various countries, more and more patients have been discharged after systematic treatment. In order to effectively promote the overall recovery of patients' physical and mental function and quality of life (QOL), the focus of clinical work should be gradually shifted to rehabilitation treatment. Dance-based mind-motor activities were defined as coordinated upright mind-motor movements that emphasize dynamic balance, structured through music or an inner rhythm (e.g., breathing) and distinctive instructions or choreography, and that involve social interaction. It has positive effects on motor function, lung function, psychological mood and other aspects, so it can be used as a safe alternative therapy for patients recovering from COVID-19. At present, there are no relevant articles for systematic review.

From its inception until March 2021, we will conduct a comprehensive electronic search, including Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, PubMed, Springer, EMBASE, Chinese Science Citation Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, Wan-fang database. Two independent researchers will conduct article retrieval, screening, quality assessment, and data analysis through the Review Manager (V. 5.3.5).

The results of this study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of dance-based mind-motor activities for the improvement of QOL in COVID-19 patients during the recovery period.

The conclusion of the study will provide an evidence to judge whether dance-based mind-motor activities is effective and safe for COVID-19 in recovery period.

This protocol will not evaluate individual patient information or infringe patient rights and therefore does not require ethical approval.
