Thermopsis turkestanica Gand. is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Thermopsis, Leguminosae, and is mainly distributed in dry areas. Most of the species in this genus have high medicinal value. The complete chloroplast genome was reported in this study. The chloroplast genome with a total size of 149,551 bp consists of two inverted repeats (IRs, 24,159 bp) separated by a large single-copy region (LSC, 83,692 bp) and a small single-copy region (SSC, 17,541 bp). Further annotation revealed the chloroplast genome contains 110 genes, including 77 protein coding genes, 29 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. This information will be useful for study on the evolution and genetic diversity of Thermopsis turkestanica in the future.Trapa bispinosa Roxb. is an annual aquatic herb with great significance of medicinal, edible and economic value. Here, we reported the complete chloroplast genome sequence of Trapa bispinosa and conducted preliminary investigation of its phylogenetic relationship with other related species. see more As the result showed, the whole chloroplast genome size was 155,556 bp consisting of four adjoining regions, i.e., a large/small single copy (LSC, 88,506 bp/SSC, 18,274 bp) region and two inverted repeat (IRs, 24,388 bp) regions. Among 112 identified unique genes were 78 protein coding genes, 30 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and four ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. Trapa spp. were precisely clustered as a monophyly, and simultaneously, the closest relation between Trapa bispinosa and Trapa natans were strongly supported in the maximum likelihood analysis. The mitochondrial genome of one Rana pseudo-rana species Rana sangzhiensis Shen was sequenced and annotated. The mitogenome is 19,207 bp in length, containing 37 typical genes. The A + T content of the whole mitogenome is 56.6%. All of the protein-condoning genes (PCGs) started with ATG and stopped with TGA. The tRNA-Pro, tRNA-Gln, tRNA-Ala, tRNA-Asn, tRNA-Cys, tRNA-Tyr, tRNA-Ser, tRNA-Glu, andND5 are located in the circular mitochondrial L chain. The phylogeny tree is monophyletic among 14 related Rana species. The R. sangzhiensis Shen cluster was more closely related to R. amurensis Boulenger and R. kunyuensis Lu, Y.-Y., and P.-P. Li. This mitochondrial genome can be used for further analyses of Ranidae mitochondrial comparative genomics to improve the understanding of diverse Ranidae species.Dianthus chinensis is a medicinal plant. Its complete chloroplast genome sequence is 149,570 bp in length, containing 126 complete genes, including 84 protein-coding genes (84 PCGs), 8 ribosomal RNA genes (8 rRNAs), and 34 tRNA genes (34 tRNAs). The overall GC content of cp DNA is 34.1%, the corresponding values of the LSC, SSC, and IR regions are 34.0%, 29.8%, and 42.5%, respectively. Phylogenetic tree shows that D. chinensis is a sister to D. longicalyx. The complete mitochondrial genome of Casmara patrona (Lepidoptera Oecophoridae) was sequenced for a future phylogenetic study of Lepidoptera. The circle genome of the moth is 15,393 bp in length with a pronounced base bias of A + T (79.3%), containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs, and a putative control region. The coxI gene had a CGA start codon as most lepidopteran species, other PCGs use the typical ATN codons. All PCGs end with the complete stop codon TAA. Phylogenetic analyses showed that the monophyly of Oecophoridae was highly supported based on the concatenated sequence of the 13 PCGs. In addition, Oecophoridae and Xyloryctidae had the closest relationship. The complete chloroplast genome of Sibiraea angustata was assembled and subjected to phylogenetic analysis. The chloroplast genome of S. angustata was 155,869 bp in length, containing a large single-copy region (84,343 bp), a small single-copy region (18,820 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (26,353 bp). The overall GC content of S. angustata chloroplast genome was 36.80%. The chloroplast genome of S. angustata contained 127 unique genes, including 83 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes and eight rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that S. angustata was related to Malus ioensis, Malus florentina and Malus trilobata. We are reporting the complete plastid genome (plastome) of Quercus acuta, an evergreen broad-leaved oak endemic to East Asia. This species is important for maintaining the warm-temperate evergreen forest biome in East Asia. The Q. acuta plastome is 160,522 base pairs (bp) long, with two inverted repeat (IR) regions (25,839 bp each) that separate a large single copy (LSC) region (90,199 bp) and a small single copy (SSC) region (18,645 bp). The phylogenetic tree shows that Quercus acuta is closely related to Quercus sichourensis with strong bootstrap support.Zingiber mioga (Thunb.) Rosc. is an important plant species in tropical Asia widely used for decoration, and in traditional food and medicine. In this study, we reported for the first time the complete chloroplast genome sequence of Z. mioga. The assembled chloroplast genome was 159,868 bp long with a typical quadripartite structure consisting of two reverse repeated regions of 26,652 bp in length, separated by a large single-copy (89,431 bp) and a small single-copy (17,133 bp) region. We annotated 113 genes including 78 protein-coding, 31 tRNA and 4 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis with 27 other species showed that Z. mioga clustered with Z. officinale and Z. spectabile, all belonging to the Zingiberaceae family of the Zingiberales order. The results of this study will facilitate the breeding process and conservation of the species.Crataegus hupehensis Sarg. is well-known for its medicinal and nutritive value. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome sequence of C. hupehensis was determined by using Illumina high-throughput sequencing approach. The complete chloroplast genome is 159,766 bp with 36.6% GC content. It contained a pair of inverted repeat regions of 26,385 bp, a large single-copy region of 87,852 bp, and a small single-copy region of 19,144 bp. It contained 112 distinct genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 4 ribosomal RNA genes, and 30 transfer RNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on chloroplast genomes indicated that C. hupehensisis was closely related to C. kansuensis and C. marshallii in the subfamily Maloideae. This complete chloroplast genome will provide valuable insight into evolution, molecular breeding, and phylogenetic analysis of Crataegus species.
