Detecting patients with DPD deficiency is becoming a major concern in clinical oncology. Results from one month of routine testing are presented and although no complete deficit were detected, 10,7% of the screened patients presented DPD deficiency and would thus require cut in dosing. Overall, this new method, using a simple pre-analytical solid-phase extraction procedure and based upon the use of standard UPLC apparatus is both cost- and time-effective and can be easily implemented at low cost in any laboratory about to start DPD testing in routine. © 2020 The Authors. Odourant-binding proteins (OBPs) play an important role in the olfactory perception of insects. Revealing the function of DcitOBPs is beneficial to the development of new ACP management strategies. RESULTS An analysis of the components of volatiles from the new shoots of six host plant species showed that β-caryophyllene was the characteristic volatile compound in flushing shoots and the most abundant volatile compound in three of the six tested ACP host plant species. The tissue expression profiles of nine known DcitOBPs were analyzed based on a transcriptome database, and DcitOBP3 and DcitOBP6 exhibited high expression in the antennae of both sexes and the ovipositor of females. The binding ability of two recombinant proteins with eight ligands was studied through competitive binding analysis; the results showed that DcitOBP6 exhibited stronger binding to β-caryophyllene. Behavioural trials indicated that sexually mature female adults of D. citri were significantly attracted to β-caryophyllene at concentrations of 0.1 μL mL-1 and 10 μL mL-1 . RNAi analysis in female D. citri showed that the reduction of DcitOBP6 transcript abundance led to a decrease in antennae EAG activity and behavioural responses to β-caryophyllene. CONCLUSION The results demonstrate that DcitOBP6 is involved in the perception of an important host plant volatile, β-caryophyllene, in the ACP, and provide a theoretical foundation for behavioural interference in ACP management. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry.OBJECTIVE The objectives of this study were to 1) characterize the distribution of non-interfering pain (defined as the pain intensity level at which individuals can function without interference) across different aspects of life among RA patients, and 2) identify clinical characteristics associated with differing levels of non-interfering pain. METHODS RA patients in FORWARD-The National Databank for Rheumatic Diseases completed 8 items from the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement System (PROMIS) Pain Interference Item Bank that asked about interference with activities. If subjects reported pain interference, they were asked, "At what level would pain no longer interfere with this activity?" on a scale of 0 to 10. Subjects were also asked, "At what level of pain would you be able to do everything you want to do?" Multiple linear regression analyses examined associations between clinical characteristics and non-interfering pain. RESULTS 3,949 RA patients completed the questionnaires. Pain interference was most common for daily activities and least common for ability to concentrate. The mean level at which pain no longer interfered with activities ranged from 2.7 ± 2.1 for ability to fall/stay asleep to 3.1 ± 2.0 for social activities. Overall, the mean threshold for non-interfering pain was 2.8 ± 1.9. The mean level of pain at which patients could do everything they wanted to do was 2.3 ± 1.9. More severe pain intensity was associated with higher non-interfering pain. CONCLUSION The mean pain level that did not interfere with activities was 3.
