All extracted terms were counted and compared to the terminology proposals, based on anatomic location, symptoms, clinical findings and histopathology.

(1) In total, 141 of the 283 (50%) orthopedic surgeons responded to the survey. In five out of six cases with Achilles tendon-related disorders, the majority gave an answer according to latest proposals. (2) An overview of terminology used for Achilles tendon-related disorders from 2000 to 2016 shows an increase in use of terminology according to the latest proposals based on anatomic location, symptoms, clinical findings and histopathology.

The revised terminology for Achilles tendon-related disorders based on anatomic location, symptoms, clinical findings and histopathology is used by the majority of orthopedic surgeons and is increasingly used in the literature. However, the indistinct Haglund eponyms are still frequently used in Achilles tendon-related terminology.

Level IV.A quality of life questionnaire specific to sarcopenia (SarQoL®) was successfully developed. There is a huge demand for translation and validation in Chinese. The aim of this study was to translate the SarQoL® into Chinese and investigate its psychometric properties. Vorapaxar The translation and cross-cultural adaptation process recommended by the developers of the initial questionnaire was followed. A total of 159 participants were investigated. The translation process consists of five steps (1) two bilinguals independently translate initial English to Chinese; (2) synthesize the two translations into one; (3) backward translations; (4) expert committee review and (5) test of the pre-final version. The validation consists of three parts (1) validity (discriminative power, construct validity); (2) reliability (internal consistency, test-retest reliability) and (3) floor and ceiling effects. There was no difficulty in translation process. Regarding the validity, good discriminant validity quality of life for sarcopenic subjects [35.56 (29.73-42.70)] vs. non-sarcopenic ones [73.22 (60.09-82.90)], p  less then  0.001 and consistent construct validity [high correlations (spearman's r) of SarQoL® with generic Short Form-36 version 2 questionnaire (0.250 to 0.824) and EuroQoL-5-Dimension questionnaire (- 0.114 to - 0.823)] were found in SarQoL®. Regarding reliability, high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.867) and excellent test-retest reliability (intraclass coefficient correlation was 0.997, 95% CI 0.994-0.998) were found. No ceiling/floor effect was reflected. A valid SarQoL® questionnaire is now available for Chinese population. It can provide a better understanding of the sarcopenia disease burden and serve as a therapeutic outcome indicator in research.Visitation to parks will change with increasing climate changes. We examined how place attachment may influence different types of climate-induced displacement at both the park and park system level. Previous research suggests that visitors who have greater place attachment to parks within a system may be more likely to tolerate changed environmental conditions before they are displaced from the system entirely or change their choice of park or time of visit within it. Our study, based on the Vermont State Parks system (U.S.), used an on-site visitor questionnaire to examine potential system, spatial, and temporal displacements resulting from ranges of five regionally specific probable manifestations of climate change. As hypothesized, we found that those with lower place attachment were more likely to be displaced. Specifically, these visitors would be more likely to shift their visitation to more southern and lower elevation parks to avoid increased rainfall, earlier/later in the season to avoid higher day or night time temperatures, and out of the park system entirely with more days above 90 F or biting insects. Our approach to examining climate change, place attachment, and displacement has relevance for considering how these three areas impact tourism and visitor use management, as well as utility for managers of these destinations.

Here, we evaluated correlations of HMGB1 expression in tumor tissues with pathophysiological characteristics of disease and determined the prognostic value of HMGB1 expression in relapsed/refractory T/NK-CL. HMGB1 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 66 cases of relapsed/refractory T/NK-CL, and specimens were classified as high or low HMGB1 expression. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses identified prognostic factors associated with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). High HMGB1 expression was significantly correlated with increased Ki67 levels and progressive lymphoma subtypes. Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that high HMGB1 expression was associated with unfavorable PFS (P = 0.006) and poorer OS (P less then 0.001). Prognostic factors identified by univariate analysis were prognostic index for peripheral T-cell lymphoma non-specified (PIT) score ≥ 2, bone marrow involvement, Ki67 ≥ 70%, and high HMGB1 expression. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that high HMGB1 expression was an independent prognostic factor for poorer PFS [hazard ratio (HR) 3.593; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.171-11.027; P = 0.025] and OS [HR 7.663; 95% CI 2.367-24.803; P = 0.001]. A proposal prognostic model combining HMGB1 and Ki67 expression showed improved prognostic capacity and may help guide treatment planning. High HMGB1 expression may be a promising prognostic predictor and a potential therapeutic target for relapsed/refractory T/NK-CL. Furthermore, to apply HMGB1 as one of the best bio-maker, an external independent control cohort is needed.Flavobacterium columnare is a problematic pathogen for the aquaculture industry where isolates are classified by genomovars. Suspended growth in a low nutrient media, like tryptone yeast extract salts, is a common method used for laboratory study. The presence of calcium and magnesium is the factor contributing to growth, virulence, and biofilm formation for F. columnare. Exponential growth occurs within 24 h for F. columnare when grown in complete tryptone yeast extract salts medium at 30 ºC. Withholding CaCl2 and MgSO4 components from a complete TYES formulation reduced or completely inhibited growth of genomovar I isolates but not the growth of genomovar II, IIB, or III isolates. Only 3 of 20 genomovar I isolates, MS-FC-4, FC-CSF-53, and 023-08-3, could achieve O.D. 540 readings ≥ 0.3 but only after 48-h incubation in cation-restricted TYES. Independently adding CaCl2 or MgSO4 to tryptone and yeast extracts did not result in a genomovar-specific growth phenotype, but generally demonstrated increased clumping with individual isolates presenting abnormal growth. Clumping formed filamentous strings that migrated to the top of the culture tube when isolates were grown in TYE+CaCl2. Several of the F. columnare isolates from all the genomovars exhibited delayed growth when a single cation source was provided. Differentially expressed proteins that are essential for lamprey-intestinal bacteria interaction should be identified to understand the lamprey adaptive immune response induced by gut microbiota.A Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, yellow-pigmented bacterial strain, designated as T28T, was isolated from seawater of the shallow-sea hydrothermal system, Kueishantao Islet, Taiwan, China. Cells were oxidase-negative and catalase-positive rods without gliding motility. Growth was observed at 10-40 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 5.0-8.0 (optimum, pH 6.0) and in the presence of 0-5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2.5%). The genomic DNA G + C content was 34.4 mol%. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain T28T shared highest similarity with Maribacter arcticus (97.7%). Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the strain T28T belongs to the genus Maribacter.
