To report the experience and advantageous effects of high-frequency radio wave electrocautery in modified Hotz operations for epiblepharon, We reviewed the records of all pediatric patients who underwent a modified Hotz operation with the use of high-frequency radio wave electrocautery (Ellman Surgitron Dual Frequency RF S5; Ellman International, Inc, Hewlett, NY) for epiblepharon between March 2016 and September 2019 at Korea University Guro Hospital. We evaluated the success rate, complications, recurrence rate and degree of satisfaction of our technique. Information from the medical records was collected, including demographics, ocular symptoms, severity of keratopathy, operation time, success/recurrence rate, and complications. 133 patients (98.52%) showed good correction of epiblepharon without complications or unpleasant cosmetic problems during 3 months of median follow-up period. Two patients (1.48%) showed recurrent corneociliary touch, but the degree was very mild and re-operation was not performed. One patient showed mild ectropion on his left lower eyelid, but the patient recovered well without operation. For complications, suture abscess and granulation were the most common, 3 cases in each, but all of those were temporary and resolved with conservative management. The approach with electrocautery for epiblepharon allows precise and fast incision of the lower eyelid, little bleeding, and minimal scarring. Surgical outcomes associated with the modified Hotz operation with electrocautery were consistent with previous studies.
To explore the efficacy and safety of high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in the treatment of severe meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) complicated with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
A total of 65 infants with severe MAS complicated with severe ARDS were included in the study. The clinical efficacy of treatment for the HFOV group (n = 31) and the conventional mechanical ventilation (CMV) group (n = 34) was retrospectively analysed. The partial pressure of oxygen (PaO

), and oxygen index values before and at 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after mechanical ventilation, the mechanical ventilation time, oxygen inhalation time, incidence of complications, and outcomes of the two groups were compared.

in the HFOV group was significantly higher than in the CMV group, while the PaCO

/FiO2 in the HFOV group was significantly higher than in the CMV group, and the OI in the HFOV group was significantly lower than in the CMV group (P < 0.05). Mechanical ventilation time, oxygen inhalation time, and the incidence of air leakage were significantly lower in the HFOV than in the CMV group (P < 0.05).
Overall, HFOV can effectively improve lung ventilation and oxygenation function, shorten ventilator treatment time, and reduce the incidence rate of air leakage for neonatal MAS, making it a safe and effective treatment option.

This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of preoperative composite inflammatory index on adhesional perinephric fat (APF), providing a help for preoperative risk assessment of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) in patients with renal cell carcinoma.
A retrospective study was conducted on 231 patients with renal cell carcinoma, who underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. They were divided into two groups according to whether there was APF during operation. Relevant clinical data, laboratory parameters and imaging examination were obtained before operation to calculate the composite inflammatory index and MAP score. The composite inflammatory index was divided into high value group and low value group by ROC curve method. The related predictive factors of APF were analyzed by logistic regression method.
The APF was found in 105 patients (45.5%). In multivariate analysis, systemic immune inflammation index (SII) (high/low), MAP score, tumor size and perirenal fat thickness were independent predictors of APF. The operation time of patients with APF was longer, and the difference of blood loss was not statistically significant.

This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of intralesional pulsed radiofrequency (RF) in the treatment of calcaneal spur and the results of patients who underwent single and double sessions of RF treatment.
The population of this retrospective study consisted of 460 patients who were diagnosed with calcaneal spur with clinical examination and direct radiography. The Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale and The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-Hindfoot Score were used to determine the pain status and functional capacities of the patients. Posttreatment evaluation was carried out on average in the 6th week.
The study involved 460 patients, 76.9% of whom were female, with the average age of 50.8 ± 10.9 years in total. Of the patients 43% was given RF therapy in a single session, and 57% of them in double sessions. After the RF procedure, the number of patients whose pain decreased according to both AOFAS and Wong-Baker pain scoring systems increased statistically significantly (p tients with persistent calcaneal spurs who do not respond to the use of oral anti-inflammatory drugs and shoe insoles, nor corticosteroid injection to the lesion area.
Postpartum family planning (PPFP) helps women space childbirths, increase exclusive breastfeeding and prevent unintended pregnancies, leading to reduction in maternal, infant and child morbidities and mortality. Unmet need of family planning is highest among women in the postpartum period due to lack of knowledge, cultural and religious barriers, access barriers and low antenatal care service utilization. However, in spite of low prevalence of postpartum family planning practices, birth-to-birth interval is reportedly high in Delhi, India. This study explores the postpartum contraception practices and the relationship between use of postpartum contraception and subsequent child linear growth.
This is a mixed method cohort study on PPFP and is nested within an ongoing "Women and Infants Integrated Interventions for Growth Study" (WINGS). Married women aged 18-30 years who have delivered a live baby are recruited for quantitative interviews at 6 weeks, 6, 12, and 24 months postpartum. In-depth interviews are conducted with a randomly selected sub-sample of women at each of the four time points, 35 husbands and 20 local service providers to understand their perspectives on PPFP practices.
The findings from the study will provide useful insights into couples' contraception preferences and choice of contraception, modern and traditional, initiation time and the effect of birth spacing and contraception use on subsequent linear growth of the child. This knowledge will be of significant public health relevance and will help in designing appropriate interventions for appropriate postpartum contraception use and delivery strategies. The study aims to work address the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights goal of promoting reproductive health, voluntary and safe sexual and reproductive choices for women.

To compare the accuracy of photogrammetry, intraoral scanning and conventional impression techniques for complete-arch implant rehabilitation.
A master cast containing 6 implant abutment replicas was fabricated. Group PG digital impressions were taken 10 times using a photogrammetry system; Group IOS intraoral scanning was performed to fabricate 10 digital impressions; Group CNV splinted open-tray impression technique was used to fabricate 10 definitive casts. The master cast and conventional definitive casts were digitized with a laboratory reference scanner. For all STL files obtained, scan bodies were converted to implant abutment replicas using a digital library. The accuracy of a digitizer was defined by 2 main parameters, trueness and precision. "Trueness" was used to describe the deviation between test files and reference file, and "precision" was used to describe the closeness between test files. Then, the trueness and precision of three impression techniques were evaluated and statistically compared (α = 0.05).
The median trueness was 24.45, 43.45 and 28.70μm for group PG, IOS and CNV; Group PG gave more accurate trueness than group IOS (P < 0.001) and group CNV (P = 0.033), group CNV showed more accurate trueness than group IOS (P = 0.033). The median precision was 2.00, 36.00 and 29.40μm for group PG, IOS and CNV; Group PG gave more accurate precision than group IOS (P < 0.001) and group CNV (P < 0.001), group CNV showed more accurate precision than IOS (P = 0.002).
For complete-arch implant rehabilitation, the photogrammetry system showed the best accuracy of all the impression techniques evaluated, followed by the conventional impression technique, and the intraoral scanner provided the least accuracy.

Since the outbreak started in 2019, COVID-19 pandemic has a significant global impact. Due to the highly infective nature of SARS-CoV-2, the COVID-19 close contacts are at significant risk of contracting COVID-19. China's experience in successfully controlling COVID-19 emphasized the importance of managing close contacts because this strategy helps to limit potential infection sources, prevent the unconscious spread of COVID-19 and thus control this pandemic. As a result, to understand and consider the management of close contacts may be beneficial to other countries. However, managing close contacts is challenging owing to the huge number of close contacts and a lack of appropriate management tools and literature references.
A new system called the COVID-19 Close Contact Information Management System was developed. Here we introduced the design, use, improvement and achievements of this system.
This system was designed from the standpoint of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in charge of managing close contacts.
