The aim of this review was to describe existing research publications relating to PMEP to map how pain management practice training might directly influence surgical nurses in contributing to successful pain outcomes in patients. The initial search of electronic databases identified 40 articles according to the inclusion criteria and search strategy, which applied the following terms ("Pain management education program") AND ∗ OR ∗ ("Nurses") AND ∗ OR ∗ ("Patient outcomes") AND ∗ ("Mixed methods"). Titles, abstracts, and keywords were also searched for the term "Nurse education." After applying exclusion criteria, five relevant peer-reviewed articles were eventually selected for the final charting of the data. The search included articles published between January 2015 and March 2019. The results show that PMEPs employ a variety of computer-based simulation, web-based facilitation, and video materials based on an evidence-based approach in their syllabuses. PMEPs were shown to enhance practice by promoting improved skills in critical thinking, leadership, patient management, and health promotion. Additionally, these programs promote an ability to practice across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, wherein nurses' engagement in managing patients' pain increased after completing the PMEP. Research within PMEP indicates that these programs may contribute to promoting opportunities for new collaborations within multidisciplinary team projects. Additionally, further research initiatives are needed to explore various aspects of these programs to enhance the nursing skills required for effective pain management, such as computer-based simulation, web-based facilitation, and video materials. Moreover, research relating to PMEPs in low- and middle-income countries is scarce and warrants further study.
Seasonal influenza is an acute respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses that are highly contagious and circulate in all parts of the world. It gives rise to an estimated 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 deaths globally each year. Risk factors for noninvasive ventilation (NIV) failure after initial success are not fully clear in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Patients who received NIV beyond 48 h due to acute exacerbation of COPD were enrolled. However, we excluded those whose pH was higher than 7.35 or PaCO
was less than 45 mmHg which was measured before NIV. Late failure of NIV was defined as patients required intubation or died during NIV after initial success.

We enrolled 291 patients in this study. Of them, 48 (16%) patients experienced late NIV failure (45 received intubation and 3 died during NIV). The median time from initiation of NIV to intubation was 4.8 days (IQR 3.4-8.1). Compared with the data collected at initiation of NIV, the heart rate, respiratory rate, pH, and PaCO
significantly improved after 1-2 h of NIV both in the NIV success and late failure of NIV groups. Nosocomial pneumonia (odds ratio (OR) = 75, 95% confidence interval (CI) 11-537), heart rate at d, late failure of NIV was associated with increased hospital mortality.
The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between neuron-specific enolase (NSE) gene polymorphism and delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning (DEACMP) and provide a theoretical basis for DEACMP pathogenesis, diagnosis, and prognosis.

To investigate this relationship, we screened 6 NSE single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), based on the results of the previous genome-wide association studies (GWAS). A total of 1,201 patients, including 416 in the DEACMP group and 785 in the acute carbon monoxide poisoning (ACMP) group, were detected by the Sequenom MassARRAY® method. The genotype frequencies and alleles of the 6 NSE SNPs (rs2071074, rs2071417, rs2071419, rs11064464, rs11064465, and rs3213434) were compared using different genetic models.

In the SNPs rs2071419 and rs3213434, we found that the genotypes and allele frequencies in the two groups significantly correlated with the grouping of patients (

= 0.042). We also observed that rs2071419 and rs3213434 significantly correlated with DEACMP-increased risk in the dominant, codominant, and overdominant genetic models. In addition, we speculated that the C allele of the rs2071419 polymorphism and the T allele of the rs3213434 polymorphism in NSE may increase the DEACMP risk (
= 0.011,
= 0.006).

The results show that rs2071419 and rs3213434 are susceptible sites of DEACMP. The NSE C allele of rs2071419 and T allele of rs3213434 and the haplotypes GGTTTC and CCTTTC may be risk factors for DEACMP.

Nursing is a stressful profession that deals with human aspects of health and illness and can ultimately lead to job dissatisfaction and burnout. Although burnout among nurses has been addressed in previous research, the heterogeneous nature of the result findings highlights the need for a detailed meta-analysis in Ethiopia. Thus, this review is aimed at identifying the prevalence of burnout among nurses in Ethiopia.

Methods Fluorescence in situ hybridization was performed to determine the location of GHET1. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was performed to verify RNA expression. GHET1 overexpression and knockdown were achieved by transfection of the expression vector or short hairpin RNA. Western blotting, qPCR, Cell Counting Kit-8 assay, JC-1 staining, and flow cytometry were performed to measure GHET1 function. The dual luciferase reporter assay was performed to confirm the relationship between microRNA 105 (mir-105) and Ras-related protein Rap-2B (RAP2B). Results GHET1 was localized in the nucleus of NB4 cell lines. GHET1 expression was elevated in AML cell lines compared with normal bone marrow mononuclear cells. GHET1 knockdown led to inhibition of proliferation and promoted the differentiation and apoptosis of AML cell lines. Furthermore, GHET1 directly bound to miR-105 and downregulated miR-105 expression. MiR-105 overexpression suppressed proliferation and induced the differentiation and apoptosis of AML cell lines. In addition, RAP2B was confirmed to be a target gene of miR-105 and an inverse correlation was shown between their expression levels in AML cell lines; when miR-105 increased, Rap-2B level decreased and vice versa.Conclusion This study demonstrated that the GHET1/miR-105/Rap2B axis may be a critical signaling pathway involved in AML progression.
