The sample exhibits an analogous value of maximum change in entropy at Curie temperature, extracted from the two different measurements process. Notably, the sample depicts maximum value of adiabatic change in temperature (ΔT) as 1.27 K and isothermal entropy change (ΔS) as 2.05 J/K kg along with the EC coefficient value of 0.426 K mm/kV, under dark conditions. In addition, the sample exhibits > 0.5 K adiabatic temperature change over a broad temperature range (~ 35 K). Remarkably, the EC parameters display ~ 27% enhancement upon 405 nm light illumination. The demonstrated photoelectrocaloric effect is found to be in accordance with theoretical formalism. The present work elucidates the light as an additional degree of freedom to widen the potential of solid-state-based technologies for advanced environment-friendly cooling devices.Electropolymerization is a bottom-up materials engineering process of micro/nano-scale that utilizes electrical signals to deposit conducting dendrites morphologies by a redox reaction in the liquid phase. It resembles synaptogenesis in the brain, in which the electrical stimulation in the brain causes the formation of synapses from the cellular neural composites. The strategy has been recently explored for neuromorphic engineering by establishing link between the electrical signals and the dendrites' shapes. Since the geometry of these structures determines their electrochemical properties, understanding the mechanisms that regulate polymer assembly under electrically programmed conditions is an important aspect. In this manuscript, we simulate this phenomenon using mesoscale simulations, taking into account the important features of spatial-temporal potential mapping based on the time-varying signal, the motion of charged particles in the liquid due to the electric field, and the attachment of particles on the electrode. The study helps in visualizing the motion of the charged particles in different electrical conditions, which is not possible to probe experimentally. Consistent with the experiments, the higher AC frequency of electrical activities favors linear wire-like growth, while lower frequency leads to more dense and fractal dendrites' growth, and voltage offset leads to asymmetrical growth. We find that dendrites' shape and growth process systematically depend on particle concentration and random scattering. We discover that the different dendrites' architectures are associated with different Laplace and diffusion fields, which govern the monomers' trajectory and subsequent dendrites' growth. Such unconventional engineering routes could have a variety of applications from neuromorphic engineering to bottom-up computing strategies.Muon catalyzed fusion ([Formula see text]CF) in which an elementary particle, muon, facilitates the nuclear fusion between the hydrogen isotopes has been investigated in a long history. In contrast to the rich theoretical and experimental information on the [Formula see text]CF in cold targets, there is relatively scarce information on the high temperature gas targets of deuterium-tritium mixture with high-thermal efficiency. We demonstrate new kinetics model of [Formula see text]CF including three roles of resonant muonic molecules, (i) changing isotopic population, (ii) producing epi-thermal muonic atoms, and (iii) inducing fusion in-flight. The new kinetics model reproduces experimental observations, showing higher cycle rate as the temperature increasing, over a wide range of target temperatures ([Formula see text] K) and tritium concentrations. Moreover, it can be tested by measurements of radiative dissociation X-rays around 2 keV. High energy-resolution X-ray detectors and intense muon beam which are recently available are suitable to reveal these dynamical mechanism of [Formula see text]CF cycles. Towards the future [Formula see text]CF experiments in the high-temperature gas target we have clarified the relationship between the fusion yield and density-temperature curve of adiabatic/shock-wave compression.BACKGROUND Numerous randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have evaluated pharmacological therapies for osteoporosis. The aim of this Bayesian network meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy and safety of pharmacological therapies for osteoporosis patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS The electronic databases of PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were systematically searched for eligible RCTs from their inception up to January 2021. The primary endpoints were all fractures, vertebral fractures, and non-vertebral fractures, while the secondary endpoints were fractures at hip or peripheral locations, bone mineral density (BMD) at various sites, and potential adverse events. RESULTS We included 79 RCTs reporting a total of 108 797 individuals in the final quantitative analysis. The results of network analysis indicated that romosozumab (92.1%) was the most effective in reducing the risk for all fractures, with the best therapeutic effects on vertebral fracture (97.2%) and non-vertebral fracture (88.0%). Romosozumab (92.5%) provided better therapeutic effects for the reduction of hip fracture. The best treatment agents for improving whole-body BMD (100.0%), spine BMD (95.7%), hip BMD (92.4%), femoral neck BMD (86.7%), and trochanter BMD (95.5%) were alendronate, strontium ranelate, ibandronate, risedronate, and ibandronate, respectively. Finally, the use of bazedoxifene was associated with the highest incidence of any upper-gastrointestinal event, nasopharyngitis, and back pain, while risedronate was associated with higher incidence of abdominal pain and dyspepsia. CONCLUSIONS This study found that romosozumab yielded the best effects for preventing fracture risk, while abaloparatide was the most effective in reducing the risk of vertebral fracture and non-vertebral fracture.BACKGROUND Peyronie's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease involving the tunica albuginea of the penile corpora cavernosa. Conservative medical treatment includes oral therapy, intralesional injections, and physical treatment. No cases of Peyronie's disease with complete plaque regression after conservative medical treatment are described in the literature. CASE REPORT Case 1 A 50-year-old man presented with penile pain, combined penile curvature (left dorso-lateral), a palpable nodule, and normal penile rigidity. The patient underwent multimodal therapy with oral antioxidants, topical diclofenac gel, and periodic perilesional penile injections with pentoxifylline. At follow-up after over 3 years of multimodal treatment, the patient no longer had penile deformity or pain. Ultrasound imaging did not show any area affected by disease and plaque could no longer be observed. Case 2 A 55-year-old man presented with penile lichen sclerosus, dorsal penile curvature with onset about 6 months before, penile plaque, no penile pain, and normal penile rigidity. He underwent multimodal therapy with oral antioxidants, topical diclofenac gel, and periodic perilesional penile injections with pentoxifylline. At follow-up after over 3 years of multimodal treatment, he presented a dorsal curvature of the penis of about 5°, similar to his condition prior to the onset of congenital penile curvature. Ultrasound no longer showed plaque. CONCLUSIONS This study showed that multimodal combined antioxidant treatment had satisfactory results. However, to accomplish this, we deem it essential to have a correct ultrasound assessment that is performed with a sufficiently advanced machine by an operator with extensive experience in the field.Összefoglaló. Megfelelő kezelésében nagy jelentőségű a károsodás időben történő felismerése és célzott terápiája, melynek során elsősorban a sebészeti kezelés preferált. A nem megfelelően kezelt eseteknél a panaszok lassan progrediálhatnak, az elváltozás krónikussá is válhat. Kiemelendő, hogy az érintettek nem elhanyagolható része nem feltétlenül centrumintézménybe jelentkezik, hanem önállóan előforduló, krónikus vagy panaszos esetekben gyakran kisebb kórházakban vagy éppenséggel szakrendeléseken jelenhetnek meg. Bevezetés és célkitűzés Az akut Stanford B típusú aortadissectio (ATBAD) egy potenciálisan életet veszélyeztető kórkép, melynek adekvát ellátása kritikus lehet a beteg túlélése szempontjából. A jelen vizsgálat célja az ATBAD ellátásával kapcsolatosan végzett konzervatív, nyitott vagy endovascularis terápiás modalitások rövid és hosszú távú eredményeinek összehasonlítása. Módszer Retrospektív, multicentrikus kohorszvizsgálatunk során a 2011. 01. 01. és 2020. 12. 31. Protokylol között akut és szubakut TBAD-val kezelt betegeket vizsgáltuk. A terápia módja szerint a konzervatívan, nyitott műtéttel kezelt és a thoracalis endovascularis aortasztentgraft -implantáción (TEVAR) átesett betegek eredményeit hasonlítottuk össze. Regisztráltuk a posztoperatív 30 napban történt halálozást, major szövődményeket, valamint az utánkövetés során való reoperáció szükségességét és a túlélést. Eredmények A vizsgálatba 188 beteget vontunk be (69,7% férfi, átlagéletkor 57 ± 12,2 év). A betegek 88,8%-a szenvedett magasvérnyomás-besociated with superior short- and long-term complication rate, and survival. Bevezetés Az infrarenalis aortaaneurysmák kezelésére alkalmazott endovascularis aortarekonstrukció (EVAR) hosszú távú sikerének egyik meghatározó tényezője a proximalis rögzítés minősége. A proximalis rögzítés minőségét rontó, ún. nehéz nyakkal rendelkező aneurysmák sikeres kezelésére fejlesztették ki az endocsavarozást, melynek során apró fémspirálokkal rögzítjük a beültetett sztentgraftot az aorta falához. Célkitűzés Vizsgálatunk célja, hogy hazai beteganyagon elemezzük az endocsavarozással kiegészített EVAR-műtétek perioperatív és középtávú kockázatát. Módszerek Retrospektív vizsgálatunk során a profilaktikus endocsavarozással kiegészített EVAR-műtéten átesett betegek adatainak analízisét végeztük. Demográfiai és kórelőzményi adatok, a műtétek és a kontrollvizsgálatok, illetve a képalkotó vizsgálatok eredményeit vizsgáltuk. Eredmények 2019. január 1. és 2021. szeptember 30. között 14 esetben (11 férfi, átlagéletkor 70,4 ± 8,1 év) végeztünk profilaktikus endocsavarozással kiegészített EVAR-műtétet.
