There has been a noticeable increase in the number of studies concerned with mental health literacy (MHL), specifically among students. Still, very few studies have examined MHL among students of non-Western minority groups.

This study examined MHL among Arab students in Israel based on Jorm's conceptual framework.

Twenty-eight Arab students in Israel took part in semi-structured, in-depth interviews. Most were single and Muslim, in their second year of studies, and most reported low socioeconomic status. The data were analyzed thematically, guided by the Jorm's six MHL dimensions.

Different levels of literacy were found in the various MHL dimensions. The participants identified severe mental disorders more easily than mood disorders; reported a variety of possible causes of mental disorders; were well aware of available professional help (apart for rehabilitative services); identified significant barriers to mental health help seeking, as Arabs; and reported the internet as a major source of information about mental health problems and their treatment.

The participants' MHL appeared to be associated with their unique sociocultural characteristics. This study stresses the need to raise MHL among Arab students in Israel, and in particular to promote positive attitudes to seeking professional help. It also highlights the need to develop culturally adapted mental health interventions for the Arab population in Israel.

The incidence of dizziness and vertigo is increasing with age, and symptoms lead to significant limitations in daily living and to disability in older patients.

Data of 1,752 patients with chronic dizziness/vertigo subjected to a tertiary care, specialized interdisciplinary vertigo center were analyzed. Age, gender, symptoms, medical diagnosis, and Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) were collected based on a questionnaire and analysis of associated patient records. The patients were assigned to 3 age groups (< 41, 41-65, and > 65 years).

33.7% of the patients were older than 65 years. Frequency of symptoms and DHI score increased with age. Older patients reported less frequently about coexisting symptoms such as nausea, headache, tinnitus, ear pressure, and visual impairment. Multisensory deficit, central vertigo, bilateral vestibulopathy, and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo were diagnosed increasingly with age, while persistent postural-perceptual dizziness and vestibular migraine were diagnosed in the younger age groups.

There is limited information on new onset poststroke dementia (NPSD) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). We estimated incidence, cumulative incidence, risk factors and outcome of NPSD at 1 year in Nigerian survivors of a first-ever stroke.

Hospital-based prospective observational study. Assessments for global cognition, learning, memory, executive and activities of daily life (ADL) functioning were conducted at 3 poststroke timepoints (Baseline, 3- and 12 months). NPSD was ascertained according to the "National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the Association Internationale pour la Recherche et l'Enseignement en Neurosciences (NINDS-AIREN) criteria." Outcomes were assessed using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS), center for epidemiologic studies depression scale (CES-D 10), health related quality of life in stroke patients (HRQOLISP-26) and caregivers strain index (CSI).

Among 144 stroke survivors who were free of dementia at baseline, we found a 1-year cumulative incidence of 4.52% (95% C.I = 3.20, 6.39). In multivariate Cox regression analyses, diabetes was associated with NPSD (Hazard Ratio = 2.10, 95% CI = 1.02, 4.35). NPSD at 3 months was independently associated with motor decline [Mean difference (MD) in mRS = 1.6, 95% C.I = 0.9, 2.3)], depression (MD in CES-D = 2.9, 95% C.I = 0.3, 5.4), caregivers burden (MD in CSI = 1.2, 95% C.I = 0.5, 1.8), and poor quality of life (MD in HRQOLISP-26 = -11.2, 95% C.I = -15.7, -6.8) at 1 year.

Faced with these constraints, a low-intensity method for oral administration was developed, based solely on the natural behaviour of the animals and minimal conditioning, in which precise doses of medication were administered in a locally available, standard wheat cookie fragment, providing both a palatable vehicle and an absorbent matrix for the medication. A total of 40 injections were performed in 20 Sprague-Dawley male 18-month-old rat cadavers. Necropsy was performed to identify staining of the sciatic nerve. Staining with methylene blue occurred in 40 of 40 ultrasound-guided injections. The extremely accurate nature of this block under ultrasound guidance is favorable for future translational studies in rats undergoing sciatic nerve blocks. This method may represent a significant improvement in current methods.
Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction (UPJO) is the most common congenital ureteral anomaly. Nowadays, according to the increasing incidence of urolithiasis, 20% of children with UPJO presents urolithiasis. Open pyeloplasty was the standard treatment before the introduction of minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Nevertheless, only scattered experiences on MIS were previously described and universal agreement on the treatment of UPJO plus urolithiasis is still missing.

The study aim was to describe our experience with a series of pediatric patients affected by UPJO and urolithiasis treated with robot-assisted pyeloplasty (RAP) and endoscopic removal of stones using a flexible cystoscope and a stones basket in a singular tertiary referral center.

We retrospectively reviewed our data from pediatric patients affected by UPJO and urolithiasis undergoing RAP between April 2013 and December 2019. The analysis was conducted on seven patients. All procedures were performed by one expert robotic surgeon and one endoscopic surgeon skilled in the management of urolithiasis.
