Finally, the constructed Q-body was successfully applied to monitor the amount of anti-SARS CoV-2 nanobody secreted into the Brevibacillus culture media.Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast is an Air Traffic Control system in which aircraft transmit their own information (identity, position, velocity, etc.) to ground sensors for surveillance purposes. This system has many advantages compared to the classical surveillance radars easy and low-cost implementation, high accuracy of data, and low renewal time, but also limitations dependency on the Global Navigation Satellite System, a simple unencrypted and unauthenticated protocol. Vorinostat in vivo For these reasons, the system is exposed to attacks like jamming/spoofing of the on-board GNSS receiver or false ADS-B messages' injection. After a mathematical model derivation of different types of attacks, we propose the use of a crowd sensor network capable of estimating the Time Difference Of Arrival of the ADS-B messages together with a two-step Kalman filter to detect these attacks (on-board GNSS/ADS-B tampering, false ADS-B message injection, GNSS Spoofing/Jamming). Tests with real data and simulations showed that the algorithm can detect all these attacks with a very high probability of detection and low probability of false alarm. To create products that are better fit for purpose, manufacturers require new methods for gaining insights into product experience in the wild at scale. "Chatty Factories" is a concept that explores the transformative potential of placing IoT-enabled data-driven systems at the core of design and manufacturing processes, aligned to the Industry 4.0 paradigm. In this paper, we propose a model that enables new forms of agile engineering product development via "chatty" products. Products relay their "experiences" from the consumer world back to designers and product engineers through the mediation provided by embedded sensors, IoT, and data-driven design tools. Our model aims to identify product "experiences" to support the insights into product use. To this end, we create an experiment to (i) collect sensor data at 100 Hz sampling rate from a "Chatty device" (device with sensors) for six common everyday activities that drive produce experience standing, walking, sitting, dropping and picking up of the device, placing the device stationary on a side table, and a vibrating surface; (ii) pre-process and manually label the product use activity data; (iii) compare a total of four Unsupervised Machine Learning models (three classic and the fuzzy C-means algorithm) for product use activity recognition for each unique sensor; and (iv) present and discuss our findings. The empirical results demonstrate the feasibility of applying unsupervised machine learning algorithms for clustering product use activity. The highest obtained F-measure is 0.87, and MCC of 0.84, when the Fuzzy C-means algorithm is applied for clustering, outperforming the other three algorithms applied.Bruise damage is a very commonly occurring defect in apple fruit which facilitates disease occurrence and spread, leads to fruit deterioration and can greatly contribute to postharvest loss. The detection of bruises at their earliest stage of development can be advantageous for screening purposes. An experiment to induce soft bruises in Golden Delicious apples was conducted by applying impact energy at different levels, which allowed to investigate the detectability of bruises at their latent stage. The existence of bruises that were rather invisible to the naked eye and to a digital camera was proven by reconstruction of hyperspectral images of bruised apples, based on effective wavelengths and data dimensionality reduced hyperspectrograms. Machine learning classifiers, namely ensemble subspace discriminant (ESD), k-nearest neighbors (KNN), support vector machine (SVM) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were used to build models for detecting bruises at their latent stage, to study the influence of time after bruise occurrence on detection performance and to model quantitative aspects of bruises (severity), spanning from latent to visible bruises. Over all classifiers, detection models had a higher performance than quantitative ones. Given its highest speed in prediction and high classification performance, SVM was rated most recommendable for detection tasks. However, ESD models had the highest classification accuracy in quantitative (>85%) models and were found to be relatively better suited for such a multiple category classification problem than the rest.Herein, we have discussed three major methods which have been generally employed for the generation of optical beams with orbital angular momentum (OAM). These methods include the practice of diffractive optics elements (DOEs), metasurfaces (MSs), and photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for the production of in-plane and out-of-plane OAM. This topic has been significantly evolved as a result; these three methods have been further implemented efficiently by different novel approaches which are discussed as well. Furthermore, development in the OAM detection techniques has also been presented. We have tried our best to bring novel and up-to-date information to the readers on this interesting and widely investigated topic. In this paper, an optical fiber composite Fabry-Perot interferometric (CFPI) sensor capable of simultaneous measurement of high temperature and strain is presented. The CFPI sensor consists of a silica-cavity intrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (IFPI) cascading an air-cavity extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI). The IFPI is constructed at the end of the transmission single-mode fiber (SMF) by splicing a short piece of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) to SMF and then the IFPI is inserted into a quartz capillary with a reflective surface to form a single-ended sliding EFPI. In such a configuration, the IFPI is only sensitive to temperature and the EFPI is sensitive to strain, which allows the achieving of temperature-compensated strain measurement. The experimental results show that the proposed sensor has good high-temperature resistance up to 1000 °C. Strain measurement under high temperatures is demonstrated for high-temperature suitability and stable strain response. Featuring intrinsic safety, compact structure and small size, the proposed CFPI sensor may find important applications in the high-temperature harsh environment.Terahertz waves are expected to be used in next-generation communications, detection, and other fields due to their unique characteristics. As a basic part of the terahertz application system, the terahertz detector plays a key role in terahertz technology. Due to the two-dimensional structure, graphene has unique characteristics features, such as exceptionally high electron mobility, zero band-gap, and frequency-independent spectral absorption, particularly in the terahertz region, making it a suitable material for terahertz detectors. In this review, the recent progress of graphene terahertz detectors related to photovoltaic effect (PV), photothermoelectric effect (PTE), bolometric effect, and plasma wave resonance are introduced and discussed.Mobile phone cameras are often significantly more useful than professional digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras. Knowledge of the camera spectral sensitivity function is important in many fields that make use of images. In this study, methods for measuring and estimating spectral sensitivity functions for mobile phone cameras are developed. In the direct measurement method, the spectral sensitivity at each wavelength is measured using monochromatic light. Although accurate, this method is time-consuming and expensive. The indirect estimation method is based on color samples, in which the spectral sensitivities are estimated from the input data of color samples and the corresponding output RGB values from the camera. We first present an imaging system for direct measurements. A variety of mobile phone cameras are measured using the system to create a database of spectral sensitivity functions. The features of the measured spectral sensitivity functions are then studied using principal component analysis (PCA) and the statistical features of the spectral functions extracted. We next describe a normal method to estimate the spectral sensitivity functions using color samples and point out some drawbacks of the method. A method to solve the estimation problem using the spectral features of the sensitivity functions in addition to the color samples is then proposed. The estimation is stable even when only a small number of spectral features are selected. Finally, the results of the experiments to confirm the feasibility of the proposed method are presented. We establish that our method is excellent in terms of both the data volume of color samples required and the estimation accuracy of the spectral sensitivity functions.Due to the non-uniform illumination conditions, images captured by sensors often suffer from uneven brightness, low contrast and noise. In order to improve the quality of the image, in this paper, a multi-path interaction network is proposed to enhance the R, G, B channels, and then the three channels are combined into the color image and further adjusted in detail. In the multi-path interaction network, the feature maps in several encoding-decoding subnetworks are used to exchange information across paths, while a high-resolution path is retained to enrich the feature representation. Meanwhile, in order to avoid the possible unnatural results caused by the separation of the R, G, B channels, the output of the multi-path interaction network is corrected in detail to obtain the final enhancement results. Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the visual quality of low-light images, and the performance is better than the state-of-the-art methods.Novel dipodal derivatives of an 18-membered diaza-crown ether with two diamide chains featuring methylmalonic or butylmalonic acid residues were obtained and tested as ionophores in ion-selective plasticized membrane electrodes. The objective of the study was to identify measurement conditions which ensure the most favorable performance for magnesium ion-selective electrodes. The relationship between the molar lipophilic anion salt-to-ionophore ratio and selectivity of electrodes was examined. The best result was obtained for the conventional electrode containing Mg2 ionophore. Calculated selectivity coefficients were as follows logKMg/Ca = -2.77, logKMg/Na = -3.46 and logKMg.K = -2.24 (SSM, 1M).This study presents the microsphere-based fiber-optic sensor with the ZnO Atomic Layer Deposition coating thickness of 100 nm and 200 nm for temperature measurements. Metrological properties of the sensor were investigated over the temperature range from 100 °C to 300 °C, with a 10 °C step. The interferometric signal was used to monitor the integrity of the microsphere and its attachment to the connecting fiber. For the sensor with a 100 nm coating, a spectrum shift of the reflected signal and the optical power of the reflected signal were used to measure temperature, while only the optical power of the reflected signal was used in the sensor with a 200 nm coating. The R2 coefficient of the discussed sensors indicates a linear fit of over 0.99 to the obtained data. The sensitivity of the sensors, investigated in this study, equals 103.5 nW/°C and 19 pm/°C or 11.4 nW/°C for ZnO thickness of 200 nm and 100 nm, respectively.
