I was performing research on Google when I came across this question: What is SEO article writing?

Well, since I’ve been for more than a decade, I decided to answer the question in a blog post. The fast answer is SEO article writing contains carefully placed keywords in order to increase the article’s ranking on the search engine results page.

SEO Article Writing Explained

Most search engine optimization professionals will advise you to use three keywords or less in an article. That’s slowly changing as more and more DOEs are using only one keyword per blog post or online article.

I like to use three because it saves you from having to use synonyms in the content. It’s okay to use three keywords. The important keywords are those you insert inside anchor text links and other locations in the document.

To be effective at search engine optimization an article should contain the writer’s main keyword in the following locations of the document:

In the title
In the first paragraph
In a sub-heading
Inside the alt tag of an image
In the name of an image
In the description of the article
In the last paragraph
This list isn’t complete, but it’s close to it. You want to use your main keyword in the above locations because that’ll be a signal to the search engines as to the topic of your content.

You can also use synonyms and words that are usually paired with your keyword. For example, if you’re writing about hamburgers you can include the term, ‘hamburger buns’ as those words usually paired together.
