Coal mining has the most risk in all the mining sectors. Hence in this sector with most work accidents are encountered in an intensive. The demographic characteristics of workers affect the occurrence of occupational accidents. This study aims to develop an equation that predicts workday loss by analyzing the relationship between workers' demographic characteristics and having an accident with workday loss. In this study, work-related accidents between 2014-2019 in underground hard coal mines in Turkey were analyzed using the logistic regression analysis method. An equation is derived that estimates the workday loss with the characteristics of workers in hard coal mines. With the equation derived in this study, employers will determine the potential for work accidents according to the demographic characteristics of the workers and serious work accidents will be prevented. Therefore, proactive solutions can be produced by applying the methods used in this study to different industries.Endosulfan is a broadly applied cyclodiene insecticide which has been in use across 80 countries since last 5 decades. Owing to its recalcitrant nature, endosulfan residues have been reported from air, water and soil causing toxicity to various non-target organisms. Microbial decontamination of endosulfan has been reported previously by several authors. In the current study, we have evaluated the pathways of endosulfan degradation and its hazardous impact on other living beings including insects, humans, plants, aquatic life and environment by in-silico methods. For establishment of the endosulfan metabolism in different ecosystems, cell designer was employed. The established model was thereafter assessed and simulated to understand the biochemical and physiological metabolism of the endosulfan in various systems of the network. Topological investigation analysis of the endosulfan metabolism validated the presence of 207 nodes and 274 edges in the network. We have concluded that biomagnification of the endosulfan generally occurs in the various elements of the ecosystem. Dynamics study of endosulfan degrading enzymes suggested the important role of monooxygenase I, II and hydrolase in endosulfan bioremediation. Endosulfan shows toxicity in human beings, fishes and plants, however it is biodegraded by the microbes. To date, there are no reports of in- silico analysis of bioremediation of endosulfan and its hazardous effects on the environment. Thus, this report can be important in terms of modelling and simulation of biodegradation network of endosulfan and similar compounds and their impact on several other systems.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.Psychopathy is a virulent form of personality pathology that exerts a costly burden on society. Although there is a strong hereditary component to psychopathy, the environment also has an impact. One of the most salient environmental influences is trauma, although not all forms of trauma may be equally predictive of psychopathy. Many studies suggest that trauma perpetrated by someone whom the victim trusts and relies upon (i.e., betrayal trauma) has an especially robust influence on personality pathology. However, there has not yet been research examining this with respect to psychopathy specifically. In this study we examined the influence of traumas with varying degrees of betrayal on psychopathy in a sample of men and women working for Amazon's Mechanical Turk (N = 444) using partial least square structural equation modeling. Results suggest that interpersonal trauma in general was associated with psychopathy for both men and women, and that trauma high in betrayal was uniquely associated with psychopathy among men. These results clarify previous research on the association between betrayal trauma and personality pathology and on the traumatic antecedents of psychopathy in particular. It appears that social information processing is negatively affected by inflammation, but extant research is primarily experimental and comes from laboratory-based manipulations of inflammatory states. We aimed to examine interactions between inflammation, stressful life events, and positive memories of childhood relations with parents in relation to social information processing in 201 adults. We hypothesized that increased inflammation and stressful life events would be associated with greater hostile social information processing, but that positive memories of childhood relations with parents would moderate both relations. Results indicated that high IL-6 levels and stressful life events were significantly associated with direct and hostile social information processing. Positive memories of childhood relations with parents attenuated the link between stressful life events and social information processing. Findings suggest that both immune function and environmental stressors are related to social information processing and that positive memories of childhood relations exert some buffering effect.
Common ergonomic office workstations are designed for a few optimum postures. Nonetheless, sitting is a dynamic activity and the ideal sitting posture is rarely maintained in practice. Ruboxistaurin Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the sitting behavior of office workers in an actual working environment using ergonomically adjusted workstations to examine if they promote maintaining appropriate sitting postures.
Sitting behaviors (frequency of postures and position changes in different body parts) were explored among 26 office workers during a 60-minute sitting duration, using the posture recording and classification method developed by Graf. et al. The Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method was also used to assess postural load. Then, the results of the RULA method were compared with the results from investigating the sitting behavior of office workers.
Common ergonomic workstations were effective in eliminating some awkward postures. However, some important risk factors, such as holding postures with an inappropriate lumbar spine curve (86% of the observations) and maintaining a posture for a long time (for 7-12 minutes) were observed in the participants' sitting behaviors, while they were neglected in the RULA method.
The common ergonomic workstations could not guarantee the users' appropriate sitting behaviors.

Substituted phenoxyacetic acid and amino acid ethyl ester hydrochloride were prepared using NaOH, SOCl2. DCC method has been used for amide linkage. The structure of prepared compounds has been confirmed by Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FT-IR), Electrospray ionization-Mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), Proton and Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR) spectroscopic techniques. Biological efficacy of synthesized analogs has been carried out under laboratory conditions. Galleria mellonella (honey bee pest) has been chosen as testing insect. Juvenile hormone (JH) activity of synthesized compounds has been tested at different concentrations and compared with the standard juvenile hormone analogs (JHAs) pyriproxyfen (M1) and fenoxycarb (M2) against the fifth larval instar of G. mellonella. Compound ethyl 2-[2-(4-methylphenoxy)aminoacetyl]-3-phenyl-propanoate (V6) exhibited better activity among all the synthesized compounds (V1-V8) with LC50 and LC90 values of 0.11 mg/mL and 0.56 mg/mL respectively. Compounds showed insect growth regulating (IGR) activity at lower concentrations. In silico screening of all synthesized compounds with the W-cavity of juvenile hormone-binding protein (JHBP) of insect G. mellonella has been carried out. Chemical reactivity of synthesized series has been studied using DFT/B3LYP/6-311 + G(d,2p) method. Non-toxic behavior of molecules has also been observed from ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity) study using discovery studio client 3.0.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma. The human NBD domain which is centrally located in the NOD2 protein displays an essential role in oligomerization and initiates the immune response via CARD-RIPK2 interaction. The mutations associated with the NBD domain have been largely implicated in inflammatory disorders such as Blau syndrome and sarcoidosis. This study aims to determine the structural and phenotypic effect of a lethal mutation that occurs in the NBD domain which has an axiomatic impact on protein dysfunction. Initially, the most deleterious missense mutations were screened through various in silico analysis. Out of 33 variants, I-Mutant 3.0, SIFT, PolyPhen 2, Align GVGD, PHD SNP and SNP&GO have statistically identified 5 variants (R42W, D90E, E91K, G189D & W198L) as less stable, deleterious and damaging. Our predicted models have paved the way to understand the various structural properties such as physiochemical, secondary structural arrangements and stabilizing residues in folding associated with the native and mutant NBD domain especially of the functionally important regions. From the aforementioned results, R42W and G189D were found to be the more predominant among the mutants. Precisely, through molecular simulation, we have strongly justified the significant conformational disruption of R42W and G189D through the stabilization factors, folding and essential dynamics. Conclusively, these regions (α341-44, α13185-191 and β6133-143β7) seem to adopt such structures that are not conducive to wild-type-like functionality. Our prediction and validation of lethal mutations based on structural stability may be useful for conducting experimental studies in detail to uncover the protein deregulation leading to inflammatory disorders.
We aimed to review available data on the incidence of herpes simplex virus (HSV) keratitis and other HSV ocular disease and to estimate the global burden of HSV ocular disease.
We searched Medline and Embase databases to October 2020 for studies reporting on the incidence of HSV ocular disease. Study quality was evaluated using a four-point checklist. Pooled estimates were applied to 2016 population data to estimate global HSV ocular disease burden. Numbers with uniocular vision impairment (any visual acuity <6/12) were estimated by applying published risks to case numbers.
Fourteen studies had incidence data; sevenmet our quality criteria. In 2016, an estimated 1.7 (95% confidence interval, 95% CI 1.0-3.0) million people had HSV keratitis, based on a pooled incidence of 24.0 (95% CI 14.0-41.0; N =2; I
=97.7%) per 100,000 person-years. The majority had epithelial keratitis (pooled incidence 16.1 per 100,000; 95% CI 11.6-22.3; N =3; I
=92.6%). Available studies were few and limited to the USA and Europe. Data were even more limited for HSV uveitis and retinitis, although these conditions may collectively contribute a further >0.1 million cases. Based on global incidence, some 230,000 people may have newly acquired uniocular vision impairment associated with HSV keratitis in 2016.
Over 1.8 million people may have herpetic eye disease annually. Preventing HSV infection could therefore have an important impact on eye health. Herpetic eye disease burden is likely to have been underestimated, as many settings outside of the USA and Europe have higher HSV-1 prevalence and poorer access to treatment.
