vascular surgeons is high. Women vascular surgeons have double the rates of SI compared to male vascular surgeons. Taken together, this study demonstrated that many of the same factors are associated with burnout in women and men, which include not enough family time, conflict between work and personal life, and work-related pain. Additional factors in men included conflict between work and family, work-related pain, and EMR dissatisfaction.

In recent years, manufacturers have developed new stent grafts with lower profiles to increase the endovascular aneurysm repair applicability. As reported by the current ESVS guidelines, long-term evaluation of such low-profile platforms is strongly recommended. This study aims to report outcomes beyond five years from a multicenter registry, including a real-world cohort of patients electively treated with low-profile stent grafts.
A retrospective data collection of patients who had undergone elective implantation of low profile endograft ≤16 Fr. (Zenith LP, Ovation, Incraft) was performed in 9 centers. The primary aim was a long-term primary clinical success. Secondary aims were survival rate, freedom from AAA-related death, freedom from type I-III endoleak, limb patency, and freedom from all reinterventions. The Kaplan-Meier curves were stratified for investigative devices. A multivariate analysis evaluated predictors of primary clinical success and reintervention rate.
A total of 619 patients were ery, remain crucial to guarantee durability.
Low-profile stent grafts have acceptable long-term outcomes. Overall survival and AAA-related death were in line with those reported for traditional devices. Long-term surveillance and reintervention, when necessary, remain crucial to guarantee durability.
The incidence of chronic limb-threatening ischaemia in diabetic patients is increasing. The factors influencing outcome following infrapopliteal revascularisation in these patients is largely unknown. Therefore, this study aims to identify the impact of perioperative glucose control on the long-term outcomes in this patient cohort, and furthermore to identify other factors independently associated with outcome.
Consecutive diabetic patients undergoing infrapopliteal endovascular revascularisation for chronic limb-threatening ischaemia were identified. Patients' demographics, procedural details, daily capillary blood glucose and haemoglobin A1C levels were collected and analysed against the study endpoints using Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analysis.
437 infrapopliteal target-vessels were successfully crossed in 203 patients. Amputation free survival by Kaplan Meier (Estimate (SE)%) was 74 (3.3)% and 63 (3.7)%, primary patency was 61 (4.2)% and 50 (4.9)%, assisted-primary patency was 69 (5.2)% and 55 outcomes in this group.Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive, age-associated neurodegenerative disorder that affects an estimated 10 million people worldwide. PD is characterized by proteinaceous, cytoplasmic inclusions containing α-synuclein, called Lewy Bodies, which form in dopaminergic neurons in an age-dependent manner, and are associated with the emergence of characteristic PD symptoms such as resting tremor, rigidity, slow movements and postural instability. Although considerable progress has been made in recent years in identifying genetic and environmental factors that are associated with PD, early diagnosis and therapeutic options remain severely lacking. Recently, microRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as novel therapeutic targets in various diseases, such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. MiRNAs have been shown to play roles in various aging and neurodegenerative disease models across phyla. More recently, studies have identified specific roles for miRNAs and their targets in the pathogenesis and progression of PD in several model organisms. Here, we discuss the evolving field of miRNAs, their association with PD, and the outlook for the future.Aerobic exercise plays an important role in prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. Inflammatory response is the main pathological process during occurrence and development stage of atherosclerosis. SESNs are considered as anti-inflammation protein in atherosclerosis. In current study, a high expression level of SESN1 is identified under the condition of aerobic exercise, further investigation shows levels of IL-1β/IL-6/TNF-α are significantly suppressed compared to those atherosclerosis mice with no aerobic training. Besides, we find that the activation of NF-κB signaling is impeded. Combine with our previous study, SESN1 is considered as the downstream factor of aerobic exercise which tend to inhibit the activation of inflammatory signaling and results in suppressing the expression level of inflammatory factors. Another exciting finding is that MMP9/13 are also suppressed, but the potential mechanism is unclear. Overall, present study sheds light on the significance of aerobic exercise for inflammation and stability of plaque through SESN1 may help developing new clinical treatments of atherosclerosis.Landfills are considered an anthropogenic source of arsenic (As). The As species mediated by microbes in landfills vary significantly in toxicity. Based on random matrix theory, 16S rRNA genes were used to construct four microbial networks associated with different stages over 12 years of landfill ages. The results indicated that network size and microbial structure varied with landfill age. According to the network scores, about 208 taxa were identified as putative keystones for the whole landfill; the majority of them were Firmicutes, which accounted for 66.8% of all specialists. Random Forest analysis was performed to predict the keystone taxa most responsible for As species distribution under different landfill conditions; 17, 10 and 14 keystone taxa were identified as drivers affecting As species distribution at early, middle, and later landfill stages, respectively.Biochar has advantages of a large specific surface area and micropore structure, which is beneficial for immobilization remediation of heavy metal‒contaminated soils. A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of rice husk biochar (BC) (7.5, 15, and 15 t hm-2) on Cd availability in soils and accumulation in maize (Zea mays L), soil aggregate structure, and microbial community abundance. The results show that BC treatment promoted the formation of large aggregates (5-8 and 2-5 mm) and enhanced aggregate stability, whereas it decreased the proportion of ≤0.25 mm soil aggregates. The geometric mean diameter and mean weight diameter under BC‒treated soils increased by 9.9%-40.5% and 3.6%-32.7%, respectively, indicating that the stability of soil aggregates increased. Moreover, BC facilitated the migration of Cd from large particles (>0.5 mm aggregates) to small particles ( less then 0.25 mm aggregates). The application of BC decreased diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid ‒extractable Cd by 17.6%-32.12% in contrast with the control. The amount of Cd in maize was reduced by 56.7%-81.1% for zhengdan958, 52.4%-85.9% for Sanbei218, and 73.7%-90.4% for Liyu16. When compared with the control groups, BC addition significantly (P less then 0.05) increased the number of Ace observed, Shannon diversity indices, and the relative abundances of Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, and Bacteroidetes. Therefore, rice husk BC exhibited a certain feasibility in immobilizing remediation of weakly alkaline Cd‒contaminated soils.Air pollution has become a major issue in China, especially for traffic-related pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Current studies in China at the national scale were less focused on NO2 exposure and consequent health effects than fine particulate exposure, mainly due to a lack of high-quality exposure models for accurate NO2 predictions over a long period. We developed an advanced modeling framework that incorporated multisource, high-quality predictor data (e.g., satellite observations [Ozone Monitoring Instrument NO2, TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument NO2, and Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction aerosol optical depth], chemical transport model simulations, high-resolution geographical variables) and three independent machine learning algorithms into an ensemble model. The model contains three stages (1) filling missing satellite data; (2) building an ensemble model and predicting daily NO2 concentrations from 2013 to 2019 across China at 1×1 km2 resolution; (3) downscaling the prerm and short-term).Lead (Pb) is a toxic metal in industrial production, which can seriously threat to human health and food safety. Thus, it is particularly crucial to reduce the content of Pb in the environment. In this study, raw fly ash (FA) was used to synthesise a new active silicate materials (IM) employing the low-temperature-assisted alkali (NaOH) roasting approach. The IM was further synthesised to form zeolite-A (ZA) using the hydrothermal method. The physicochemical characteristics of IM and ZA amendments before and after Pb2+ adsorption were analysed using the Scanning electron microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (SEM-EDS), Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) apparatuses. The results revealed the considerably change in the microstructure and functional groups of IM and ZA amendments, conducive to Pb2+ removal. Moreover, a 3-year field experiment revealed that the IM and ZA significantly improved the growth of rice and reduced available Pb by 21%-26.8% and 9.7%-16.9%, respectively. After 3 years of remediation, the Pb concentration of the rice grain reached the national edible standard (≤0.2 mg kg-1) of 0.171 mg kg-1 and 0.179 mg kg-1, respectively. Meanwhile, the concentration of acid-exchangeable Pb reduced, while those of reducible and residual fractions of Pb increased. There was no significant difference between the IM and ZA treatments. The potential mechanisms of remediation by the amendments were ion-exchange, complexation, precipitation, and electrostatic attraction. Overall, the results indicate that IM is suitable for the remediation of contaminated soil and promotes safe food production, and develops an environmentally friendly and cost-effective amendment for the remediation of polluted soil.Neonicotinoids have been often detected in aquatic environment with high concentrations; however, little is known about their risk and fate to/in fish. This study systematically investigated the bio-uptake, tissue distribution and metabolism of neonicotinoids in zebrafish, taking clothianidin (CLO) as an example. The results revealed the uptake and elimination kinetics of CLO in whole fish and different tissues was very similar, and its bioconcentration factor ( less then 1) indicates the low bioaccumulation potential in zebrafish. The highest accumulative tissues for CLO were found to be intestine and liver. Eight biotransformation products were identified in intestine and liver, and the metabolic pathways were found to be N-demethylation and nitro-reduction. The metabolic kinetics of two products (desmethyl clothianidin and clothianidin urea) revealed the metabolism of CLO mainly occurred in liver and intestine. This suggested that the hepatobiliary system played an important role in the metabolism and elimination of CLO.
