The aim of this study was to describe the clinical application and outcome of osteochondral autograft transfer using the COR system (COR; DePuy Synthes, Warsaw, Indiana, United States) for the treatment of osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the femoral condyle in dogs.
Medical records of dogs that were treated for OCD of the femoral condyle using the COR system between February 2013 and March 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. The results of pre- and postoperative clinical and radiographic examinations were evaluated.
Twenty stifles (18 dogs; 15 lateral and 5 medial femoral condyles) met the inclusion criteria. A single graft transfer was done in six stifle joints and mosaicplasty in 14 (2 grafts in 9/14 stifles; 3 grafts in 5/14 stifles). Proper anatomic reconstruction was confirmed intraoperatively and radiographically in all dogs. There were no major and three minor postoperative complications. At 3 months, 15 of 20 stifles (14 of 18 dogs) had no lameness or radiographic signs of inflammation. At 6 months, 12 of 13 dogs had no lameness or discomfort, and four of 13 stifles had radiographic evidence of moderate osteoarthritis.

There is growing interest about the mechanisms underlying NET formation and elevated cfDNA, but little is known about the factors involved. We aimed to identify genes involved in the regulation of cfDNA levels using data from the Genetic Analysis of Idiopathic Thrombophilia (GAIT-2) Project.Imputed genotypes, whole blood RNA-Seq data, and plasma cfDNA quantification were available for 935 of the GAIT-2 participants from 35 families with idiopathic thrombophilia. We performed heritability and GWAS analysis for cfDNA. The heritability of cfDNA was 0.26 (p = 3.7 × 10-6), while the GWAS identified a significant association (rs1687391, p = 3.55 × 10-10) near the ORM1 gene, on chromosome 9. An eQTL (expression quantitative trait loci) analysis revealed a significant association between the lead GWAS variant and the expression of ORM1 in whole blood (p = 6.14 × 10-9). Additionally, ORM1 expression correlated with levels of cfDNA (p = 4.38 × 10-4). Finally, genetic correlation analysis between cfDNA and thrombosis identified a suggestive association (ρ g = 0.43, p = 0.089).All in all, we show evidence of the role of ORM1 in regulating cfDNA levels in plasma, which might contribute to the susceptibility to thrombosis through mechanisms of immunothrombosis.

A phantom study using 7 human renal calculi was performed to test both protocols. 120 consecutive unenhanced CT examinations performed due to suspicion of renal calculi were included in this retrospective, monocentric study. 60 examinations were included with the standard-dose protocol (SP) (100 kV/130 mAs), whereas another 60 studies were included using a low-dose protocol (LD) applying spectral shaping with tin filtration of high tube voltages (Sn150 kV/80 mAs). Image quality was assessed by two radiologists in consensus blinded to technical parameters using an equidistant Likert scale ranging from 1-5 with 5being the highest score. This review discusses the current evidence and guidelines regarding the reporting of coronary artery calcification on non-electrocardiogram-gated thoracic CT performed for non-cardiac indications.
For patients undergoing routine thoracic CT, coronary artery calcification is associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction and mortality. Coronary artery calcification can be accurately assessed on non-gated thoracic CT compared to gated CT. Guidelines support the reporting of coronary artery calcification on thoracic CT. However, radiologist opinions vary. To retrospectively evaluate outcomes of a combined interventional approach to stage 1 (cT1cN0cM0) renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) by transarterial embolization (TAE) followed by percutaneous CT-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients ineligible for surgery.
13 patients (9 male, 4 female, 69.6 ± 16.6 y/o) with 14 RCCs (largest diameter 40.4 ± 6.7 mm, cT1a 4, cT1b 10) were treated by RFA a median of one day after TAE in a single center. Indications for minimally invasive interventional therapy were bilateral RCCs (n = 4), RCCs in a single kidney after nephrectomy (n = 3), increased surgical risk due to comorbidities (n = 4), and rejection of surgical therapy (n = 2). Technical success, effectiveness, safety, ablative margin, cancer-specific survival, overall survival, and tumor characteristics were analyzed.

In addition to direct oncologic therapy, interventional radiology plays an important supportive role in oncologic therapy primarily guided by other disciplines.
