vel of impulsivity are manifestations of impaired executive functions in children with dyslexia. The results of the control study after treatment showed a significant increase in reading skills in both groups. In addition, there was an improvement in indicators of attention and working memory. However, the effectiveness of treatment with cortexin was slightly higher compared to encephabol (improvement was noted in 73.3% and 60.0%of patients, respectively). According to a comparative analysis of EEG results, after a course of treatment with cortexin, children with dyslexia have significant neurophysiological changes that indicate the activation of the brain regulatory systems.
To evaluate the efficacy of the AChE inhibitor ipidacrine when added to traditional therapy in outpatients with tunnel syndromes (TS) based on clinical, neurophysiological and psycho-emotional indicators.
Ninety-two patients with a verified diagnosis of TS were randomized into a main group (MG), in which ipidacrine was added to the therapy (
=50), and a control group (CG), which received conventional therapy (
=42). Clinical neurological examination, provocative (Tinel, Falen, Goldberg finger compression, elevator and tourniquet) tests, pain questionnaires (VAS, DN4, PainDetect, Pain Disability Index), Beck's depression scale, the Spielberger Trait and State Anxiety Inventory, electroneuromyography (ENMG) were used.
Most of the examined subjects were patients with mild TS without muscle weakness or amyotrophy (80%). In the main group, there was a significant decrease in hypoesthesia, normalization of provocative tests, the increase of SNAP amplitudes, as well as nerve conduction velocities over motor ive drugs.
In patients treated with traditional therapy in combination with ipidacrine, the follow-up study after 4 weeks showed the reliable positive dynamics of clinical, neurophysiological and psycho-emotional indicators without application of psychoactive drugs.
To analyze the effect of Alflutop on neuroinflammation in patients with chronic lower back pain (CBP).
Forty-one patients with a verified CBP diagnosis were enrolled in the study. Alflutop was used for treating CBP, 1 ml once/day, for 20 days. Treatment efficacy was monitored using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), DN4 test; the Roland-Morris questionnaire; the index of pain activity in the lumbar spine; and the level of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in blood plasma. There were three visits in total screening (visit 0), treatment start (visit 1, 0-3 days after screening) and visit 2 (3 months later (±7 days) from the start of treatment).
Before the start of therapy, in some patients (group 1,
=14 (34.1%) the TNF-α concentration in the blood plasma was below the detectable level (less than 4.0 pg/ml), while in group 2 (
=27 (659%)), the expression of TNF-α in peripheral blood was observed at the level of 6.3 [4.9; 7.4] pg/ml. Patients in group 2 significantly (
<0.05) differed from patients in grsynthesis. Alflutop inhibits the TNF-α expression substantially, which significantly correlates with a decrease in the neuropathic pain syndrome component according to the DN4 questionnaire. The use of Alflutop can be considered as an effective method of treating patients with CBP, which has an impact on the process of neuroinflammation as one of the leading causes of changes in the pain nature and its chronicity.
In the majority of CBP patients, the high relapse rate and neuropathic nature of pain may be associated with persistent neuroinflammation due to TNF-α synthesis.
A special place among cognitive disorders in patients with cardiovascular diseases is given to postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). The study aimed at investigating the patterns of beta-2 activity associated with postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in patients after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
The study included 60 patients who underwent neuropsychological testing 3-5 days before surgery and on the 7-10
day of CABG. A multichannel electroencephalogram of resting state with eyes closed in 62 standard leads was recorded. Bupivacaine Statistical processing of the results was carried out using Statistica 10 (StatSoft Inc, USA) and the developed method of data clustering with a minimax criterion, a software implementation of the binary clipping and branching algorithm was used to find optimal solutions.
Patients with POCD had higher pre- and postoperative high-frequency beta-2 rhythm power (20-30 Hz) compared with patients without cognitive impairment. The regression model demonstrated that Pcrease in the left parietal cortex. The developed method for classifying patients according to the level of pre- and postoperative beta-2 rhythm power has a good discriminant ability. Stable patient affiliation with the selected clusters was associated with a higher level of cognitive status.
To determine clinical and social indicators in in-patients with schizophrenia depending on their participation in psychiatric rehabilitation.
One hundred in-patients were randomly assigned to receive either rehabilitation along with the standard pharmacological treatment or standard pharmacological treatment alone. Thirty-five patients from the main group and 39 patients from control group completed three-month participation in the study. The Life Skills Profile (LSP-16), HoNOS and PANSS were used at baseline and post-intervention assessment.
There was a statistically significant decrease in scores of almost all LCP-16 subscales and PANSS in the rehabilitation group compared with the control group. No between-group differences in HoNOS scores were observed.
The findings support implementation of psychiatric rehabilitation programs for in-patients with schizophrenia.
