Student self-perceived confidence also increased significantly after eCase use. Faculty reported that eCases took more time to develop than conventional cases, but were easier to deliver and provided better student engagement. IF is an accessible media for creating and delivering low-fidelity interactive patient cases that can engage all students in a large class. eCases allow students to apply their knowledge, practice clinical decision-making, and safely learn from their mistakes. eCases are versatile and well suited for both in-person and virtual teaching across a variety of health professions programs to teach clinical decision-making.

The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s40670-021-01245-7.This mixed-method research aimed to implement inter-professional education (IPE) as a training process for producing and shaping health and social sciences professionals in three faculties Medicine, Pharmacy, and Architecture, Urban Design and Creative Arts in Mahasarakham University (MSU), Thailand. Two hundred thirty-two students who registered as second-year students in the 2015 academic year, and third-year students in the 2016 academic year, and fifty patients in six catchment areas of the Faculty of Medicine Hospital, MSU, participated in the study. Six steps of IPE implementation were involved. They were conducted by twenty-four teachers from three faculties, twelve health volunteers in six communities, and five municipality officers. After the IPE activities, students showed significant improvement in their attitudes towards collaborative teamwork. Their performance with regard to IPE home-based care for medical patients improved substantially from year 2 to year 3 (73.4% and 80.9%, p = 0.001). Patients and community representatives were satisfied with students' home visits, and scored them at > 80%. The after-action review among all of the teachers provided information about their views on IPE projects and their recommendations with respect to inter-professional education. IPE schemes can produce beneficial effects for students, teachers, and patients in the community. As a study result of MSU experience, we recommended IPE for higher education institutions.The utilization of operando spectroscopy has allowed us to watch the dynamic nature of supported metal nanoparticles. However, the realization that subtle changes to environmental conditions affect the form of the catalyst necessitates that we assess the structure of the catalyst across the reactant/product gradient that exists across a fixed bed reactor. In this study, we have performed spatial profiling of a Pd/Al2O3 catalyst during NH3 oxidation, simultaneously collecting mass spectrometry and X-ray absorption spectroscopy data at discrete axial positions along the length of the catalyst bed. The spatial analysis has provided unique insights into the structure-activity relationships that govern selective NH3 oxidation-(i) our data is consistent with the presence of PdN x after the spectroscopic signatures for bulk PdN x disappear and that there is a direct correlation to the presence of this structure and the selectivity toward N2; (ii) at high temperatures, ≥400 °C, we propose that there are two simultaneous reaction pathways-the oxidation of NH3 to NO x by PdO and the subsequent catalytic reduction of NO x by NH3 to produce N2. The results in this study confirm the structural and catalytic diversity that exists during catalysis and the need for such an understanding if improvements to important emission control technologies, such as the selective catalytic oxidation of NH3, are to be made.Investigating a catalyst under relevant application conditions is experimentally challenging and parameters like reaction conditions in terms of temperature, pressure, and reactant mixing ratios, as well as catalyst design, may significantly impact the obtained experimental results. For Pt catalysts widely used for the oxidation of carbon monoxide, there is keen debate on the oxidation state of the surface at high temperatures and at/above atmospheric pressure, as well as on the most active surface state under these conditions. Here, we employ a nanoreactor in combination with single-particle plasmonic nanospectroscopy to investigate individual Pt catalyst nanoparticles localized inside a nanofluidic model pore during carbon monoxide oxidation at 2 bar in the 450-550 K temperature range. As a main finding, we demonstrate that our single-particle measurements effectively resolve a kinetic phase transition during the reaction and that each individual particle has a unique response. Based on spatially resolved measurements, we furthermore observe how reactant concentration gradients formed due to conversion inside the model pore give rise to position-dependent kinetic phase transitions of the individual particles. Finally, employing extensive electrodynamics simulations, we unravel the surface chemistry of the individual Pt nanoparticles as a function of reactant composition and find strongly temperature-dependent Pt-oxide formation and oxygen spillover to the SiO2 support as the main processes. These results therefore support the existence of a Pt surface oxide in the regime of high catalyst activity and demonstrate the possibility to use plasmonic nanospectroscopy in combination with nanofluidics as a tool for in situ studies of individual catalyst particles.
The Taiwan Smell Identification Test (TWSIT) was developed and successfully administered in Taiwanese population since 2015. However, for sanitation reason, the original liquid-jar form of this test is not appropriate. The commercialized TWSIT was then re-designed as "scratch-and-sniff" version the TIBSIT (Top International Biotech, Taipei, Taiwan). This project aims to investigate the normative value of TIBSIT in different age groups and genders.
Volunteers aged 20 to 80 with no subjective smell loss were recruited in a rhinology clinic. The participants were given full instructions on using the TIBSIT.
Two hundred and nine healthy subjects (female male =107 102) were enrolled into this study. The median TIBSIT score in female and male subjects is 47 and 46, respectively. Subjects were further divided into three age groups (A) 20∼34 years (n = 77), (B) 35∼54 years (n = 77), and (C) 55∼80 years (n = 55). The TIBSIT scores at the tenth percentile value at each age group of male patients are 43, 42 and 37; while the scores at the tenth percentile value at each age group of female patients are 42, 42 and 41. TIBSIT score was significantly and inversely correlated with age (Spearman rho = - 0.20,
= 0.004.).

Despite the recommendation for postoperative orthopedic follow-up after a hip fracture in elderly patients, many patients do not return for these visits. In this study, we attempt to determine if early follow-up (<4 weeks post-discharge) changes orthopedic post-operative management.
1232 patients aged > 55 years old who underwent operative fixation for hip fractures were enrolled into an orthopedic trauma registry and followed from hospitalization through one year. Demographics, comorbidities, injury severity, and hospital course data were collected. Need for readmission and orthopedic follow-up were ascertained through chart review.
417 patients (33.8%) patients did not return for any follow-up and 30 (2.4%) patients died <30 days from discharge. 370 (45.5%) patients had early orthopedic follow-up ≤28 days after discharge. 317 (38.9%) patients were seen ≥29 days after discharge (late follow-up). 127 (15.6%) patients returned for isolated non-orthopedic care. There were 23 (6.2%) readmissions in the early group, 17 (5.4%) in the late group, and 24 (18.9%) in the no follow-up group (p < 0.001). Patients discharged home were more likely to present for early follow-up compared to those with late and non-orthopedic follow-up (p = 0.002), however there was no difference in readmission rates between those discharged home vs. SNFs/SARs.
Patients who received isolated non-orthopedic follow-up within 4 weeks of surgery experienced more hospital readmissions than those with follow-up in that time period; however, these readmissions were primarily due to medical issues. There was no difference in orthopedic-related readmissions and changes in orthopedic management between groups. Patients discharged to SNFs/SARs did not present for early orthopedic as often as those discharged home.
Early orthopedic follow up after hip fracture care does not change post-operative management in these patients and has implications for value-based care.

A need exists for improved care pathways for patients experiencing low-energy pelvic ring fractures. A review of the current literature was performed to understand the typical patient care and post-acute rehabilitation pathway within the US healthcare system. We also sought to summarize reported clinical outcomes worldwide.
Low-energy pelvic ring fracture patients usually do not qualify for inpatient admission, yet they often require post-acute rehabilitative care. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) 3-day rule is a barrier to obtaining financial coverage of this rehabilitative care.
Direct admission of some patients to post-acute care facilities has shown promise with decreased cost, improved patient outcomes, and increased patient satisfaction. Secondary fracture prevention programs may also improve outcomes for this patient population.
Post-acute care innovation and secondary fracture prevention should be prioritized in the low-energy pelvic fragility fracture patient population. To demonstrate the effect and feasibility of these improved care pathways, further studies are necessary.

To study, estimate and discuss the variations of the aerosol optical depth (AOD), black carbon, sulfate and organic matter, in the atmosphere in Blida City of Algeria, which was greatly affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
We analyzed the effects of changes in the total AOD, black carbon, sulfate, and organic matter in the atmosphere (λ=550 nm) in the same period of 2019 and 2020, following the COVID-19 epidemic in Blida City, which was the most-affected city in Algeria.
The quarantine that was enacted to limit the spread of COVID-19 resulted in side effects that were identifiable in the total AOD and in some of its atmospheric components. Comparing these variables in 2019 and 2020 (in the months during the quarantine) revealed that in April, the BCAOD values were much lower in 2020 than in 2019.
Based on the effects of the emerging COVID-19, the research listed the changes received from the AOD, and is considered as a comparative study and represents a significant side effect of the quarantine that was mainly designed to limit COVID-19.
