People with inflammatory arthritis (IA) often experience low work ability, and up to 38% lose their jobs during the initial years after the diagnosis of IA.

We explore the perceived challenges at work and identify the need for professional support among Danish people with IA.

To compare clinical profile and visual outcomes of occlusive versus non-occlusive retinal vasculitis (RV).

A retrospective comparative study.

284 patients were enrolled, including 124 patients with occlusive RV (ORV) and 160 patients with non-occlusive RV (NORV). Patients with ORV were older (p≤10-3), predominantly male (p≤10-3), with less bilateral involvement (31.5% vs 53,4%; p ≤10
). Infectious RV was more frequently diagnosed in the ORV group than in the NORV group (48.8% vs 32.9%,
=.006). Behçet disease and ocular tuberculosis were the leading causes of ORV. Idiopathic RV, Behçet disease, and sarcoidosis were the most common causes of NORV. Independent predictive factors of poor visual outcome were worse baseline visual acuity in both groups (
=.006 and p ≤10-3, respectively), and retinal hemorrhages (
=.048) and optic atrophy (
=.040) in the ORV group.

Consequently, the IL-17A-neutrophil axis could be a potential therapeutic target. Previously, we constructed a recombinant Mycobacterium smegmatis (rMS) expressing fusion protein Ag85A-IL-17A, and confirmed it could induce production of IL-17A autoantibody in vivo. This study uses a murine model of neutrophilic asthma to further investigate the effects of rMS on airway inflammation. Methods DO11.10 mice were divided into four groups phosphate buffered saline (PBS), asthma, rMS and MS. This murine model of neutrophilic asthma was established with ovalbumin (OVA) challenge, whereby PBS, rMS and MS were administered intranasally. Anti-inflammatory effects on inflammatory cell infiltration and expression of inflammatory mediators in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were evaluated, along with histopathological changes in lung tissues. Results A sustained high-titer IL-17A autoantibody was detected in sera of the rMS group. Compared to the asthma group, the number of neutrophils, IL-17A, CXCL-1 levels and MPO activity in the rMS group were all significantly reduced (p < 0.01). Histological analysis showed rMS remarkably suppressed inflammatory infiltration around bronchia. The inflammation score and the mucus score in the rMS group were both significantly lower than those in the asthma group (p < 0.001). Conclusion rMS ameliorated airway inflammation in mice with neutrophilic asthma caused by inducing IL-17A autoantibody and regulating the IL-17A-neutrophil axis, thus offering a possible novel treatment for neutrophilic asthma.In the US, one in three older adults die with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. Currently, there is no cure for the rapidly growing burden, but there are pharmacological treatments to manage the symptoms, which lead to numerous side effects. We tested the effectiveness of a non-pharmacological therapeutic interactive pet (TIP) in improving mood/behavior and cognition among 12 persons with mild-moderate dementia attending an adult day center (ADC) over 12 visits. Mood/behavioral symptoms were assessed using the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Mood Scale (AD-RD), Observed Emotion Rating Scale (OERS), and the Cornell Scale for Depression in Dementia (CSDD). Cognition was assessed via Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Paired-sample t-tests, Pearson's correlation, repeated measures t-test, and a post-intervention qualitative inquiry were used to examine the significance of TIP. As a result, all mood scores improved over time, with two showing significance OERS (M = 73.7/SD = 9.6); conditions t(11) = -19.18, p less then .001, and CSDD (M = 8.8/SD = 7.2); conditions t(11) = 4.12, p =.002. Over half (0.67%) scored higher on the MMSE post-test than the pretest M = 10.7(SD = 5.5) and M = 12.2(SD = 7.1), respectively. Participants stroked and spoke often to their pets. Several family members reported participants sleeping with their pet following the program's conclusion. TIP proved to be a safe alternative method to improving mood/behavior in persons with dementia attending an ADC. MMSE scores also improved, although confounding factors such as inter-rater reliability and a potential endorphin effect may have impacted scores. Improving Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms and Cognitive Status of Participants with Dementia through the Use of Therapeutic Interactive Pets.The aim of this study is to examine diet diversity, predictors associated with it, and its associations with anemia among non-pregnant women of reproductive age in rural India. Baseline data from the Reductions in Anemia through Normative Innovations (RANI) project were used and included 980 non-pregnant women aged 15-49 years from Odisha, India. The Food and Agriculture Organization's Minimum Dietary Diversity for Women (MDD-W) was used to assess diet diversity. Anemia was determined by hemoglobin level and categorized as normal (hemoglobin ≥ 12 g/dL), mild (11 ≤ hemoglobin less then 12 g/dL) and moderate/severe (hemoglobin less then 11 g/dL). Multivariable logistic regression was used to examine factors associated with diet diversity, and multinomial logistic regression for associations between diet diversity and anemia. Forty-four percent of women were classified as having a diverse diet (MDD-W ≥5). Women with higher education level, belonging to a scheduled caste (vs. tribe), and higher body mass index had higher odds of a diversified diet (p less then .05 for all). A more diverse diet was associated with 30% of lower odds of mild anemia (odds ratio = 0.7, 95% confidence interval 0.5-0.98, p = .035), however, no statistically significant associations were found for moderate/severe anemia. Diet diversity was inversely associated with prevalence of mild anemia among non-pregnant women of reproductive age in rural India.Bladder cancer (BC) has an unpredictable prognosis. In this study, we downloaded the mRNA expression and clinical data of BC patients and used the LASSO Cox analysis was employed to build a signature. High-risk patients had a significantly lower overall survival (OS) (p less then .0001). Single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) indicated that the tumor immune microenvironment was different between the two risk groups. In conclusion, a pyroptosis-related signature can be used for OS prediction of patients with BCs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) was dismantled into four modules of three sessions each cognitive restructuring (Think), behavioral activation (Act), problem solving (Solve) and relaxation (Relax). We investigated the modules' relative effectiveness in indicated depression prevention for adolescents and examined variations in sequencing of these modules.

We performed a pragmatic cluster-randomized microtrial with four parallel conditions (1) Think-Act-Relax-Solve (

Delayed vaccination in children with seizures was common in China. This study aims to describe the vaccination status, reasons for vaccination deferral, vaccination recommendations and the safety for these patients in Zhejiang.

1539 children included were divided into febrile seizure (FS) group, epilepsy (EP) group, unclassified seizure group and other symptomatic seizure group. Medical records and reasons for the vaccination deferral were collected by questionnaire. Vaccination data and Adverse Event Following Immunization were retrieved from vaccination booklets.

The main diseases of children enrolled were FS (756, 49.1%) and EP (443, 28.8%). Most of them (95.6%) were vaccinated on time before the onset of seizure, but their vaccination was delayed after seizure occurred. 76.1% were recommended to receive vaccines normally, of which the FS group accounted for the highest proportion (90.3%). 88.73% of them were vaccinated as recommended, and no serious side effects or seizure occurred. The main reason for vaccination deferral was providers' and parents' hesitation to have them vaccinated.

Seizures were overestimated as a contraindication for vaccination in China. Routine vaccination was safe in most circumstances. It is essential to educate providers and parents about the benefits and contraindications of vaccination in children with seizures.
