In this article, we discuss the effects of CaO/ALA and ILs on the curing characteristics, vulcanization temperature, crosslink density, mechanical properties, and thermal stability of EPM, as well as the resistance of EPM to weather aging. The CaO/ALA with ILs reduced the vulcanization time of the rubber compounds without a significant effect on the vulcanization temperature. Their application resulted in an increased vulcanizate crosslink density, as well as improved tensile strength compared to the pure peroxide system. The influence of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium ILs on EPM vulcanization and performance depends on the anion present in the molecules of the ionic liquid. We found through DNA binding assay, that Calebin A inhibited TME-induced NF-κB activation in a dose-dependent manner. As a result of this inhibition, NF-κB phosphorylation and NF-κB nuclear translocation were down-modulated. Calebin A, or IκB-kinase (IKK) inhibitor (BMS-345541) significantly inhibited the direct interaction of nuclear p65 to DNA, and interestingly this interaction was reversed by DTT. Calebin A also suppressed the expression of NF-κB-promoted anti-apoptotic (Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, survivin), proliferation (Cyclin D1), invasion (MMP-9), metastasis (CXCR4), and down-regulated apoptosis (Caspase-3) gene biomarkers, leading to apoptosis in HCT116 cells. This paper empirically tested the relationship between ER and GTFP in China by using panel data and a systematic Gaussian Mixed Model (GMM) of 177 cities at the prefecture level. The research shows that the relationship between ER and GTFP is complex, which is reflected in the differences and nonlinearity between cities with different monitoring levels and different economic development levels. (1) The relationship between ER and GTFP is linear and non-linear in different urban groups. A positive linear relationship was found in the urban group with high economic development level, while a U-shaped nonlinear relationship was found in other urban groups. (2) There are differences in the inflection point value and the variable mean of ER in different urban groups, which have different promoting effects on GTFP. In key monitoring cities and low economic development level cities, the mean value of ER had not passed the inflection point, and ER was negatively correlated with GTFP. The mean values of ER variables in the whole sample, the non-key monitoring and the middle economic development level cities had all passed the inflection point, which gradually promoted the improvement of GTFP. The presence of graphene in PCL/G membranes enlarged the pore size and the water flux and presented significantly higher electrical conductivity than PCL HFs. A biocompatibility assay showed that PCL/G HFs significantly increased C6 cells adhesion and differentiation towards astrocytes, which may be attributed to their higher electrical conductivity in comparison to PCL HFs. On the other hand, PCL/G membranes produced a cytotoxic effect on the endothelial cell line HUVEC presumably related with a higher production of intracellular reactive oxygen species induced by the nanomaterial in this particular cell line. Multiple-choice questionnaires were designed to obtain data regarding the knowledge of pet and non-pet owners on echinococcosis and toxocariasis, including signs and symptoms of these zoonoses, ways of transmission and precautions that need to be taken into account in order to avoid it. A total of 185 questionnaires were retrieved and data was expressed as absolute (Ν) and relative frequencies (%). Associations between pet ownership, residence and outcome variables were evaluated using the Fisher exact test and Chi-squared test, respectively. Multifactorial linear regression analysis was used to investigate the cross-sectional association between demographic characteristics and the awareness of helminthic zoonoses. All tests were two-sided and statistical significance was set at p less then 0.05. Our study revealed a disturbing lack of awareness of echinococcosis and toxocariasis (mean zoonotic knowledge score 8.11 ± 3.18) independently of pet ownership.
