The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto believed that North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure the next generation could read them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For example dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was used.
Origins
Toto's early history, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic growth. In the early years of its existence, the company produced products to meet the demands of new, modern urban housing. It had the first tunnel kiln in the nation that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, allowing greater efficiency and a more consistent production.
The company began expanding internationally in the late 1980s in order to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products in order to expand its range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expanded the firm's market share in the world.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development for household appliances that use water. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve its customers and increase profit. The company embraced a just-in time method of managing supply chains and used the same method in its sales program. This resulted in a higher degree of customer satisfaction.
Toto has continued to innovate in the toilet technology. The latest toilet, for instance it has an extremely powerful tornado flush that is more eco friendly than conventional toilets. The company also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also produces bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It hosts exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made of ceramics) and the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In an additional gallery, you can view Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum even includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto members of the group did session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia you'd think that the group would be prog kings and queens however, it's actually a fairly simple rock band. The group started out as a quartet and recorded two albums - 1979's self titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background but their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster but not without its difficulties. The record companies put Toto under pressure to deliver an album that was a success or else they would pull the album. Toto was able to do this through the aid of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experiences in the music industry, as the band members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their distinctive sound has become the standard of the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your mind. The album also features slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distortion AOR and could sound totally wrong, but works amazingly well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes changed for the worse. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career and the band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that was chart-topping, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.
Tours
The band has performed across the globe to an audience of millions, and has sold-out shows in Europe, North America, Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. The repertoire of the band is extensive, and their collective catalog has amassed over billion streams on streaming services worldwide. The band's music has been influential to many generations of fans.
Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have developed a deep and vibrant friendship that flourishes professionally on a worldwide basis. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a hugely successful tour across the globe. The album with the same name was ranked at #5 on the Billboard 200. The new tour of the band includes their best hits and rarely performed live deep cuts, alongside some of the songs from Lukather and Williams their individual catalogs.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more powerful, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. 먹튀검증 increasing proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was more refined, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album a few months later and then embarked on a world tour promote it. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demo tapes and tapes to make a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was released in the form of a double-album called Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album in the band's history that did not include any single song that had the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and the vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe case of laryngitis which limited his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia, met in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be reformed. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was busy with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
