Pragmatism is a philosophical system that is based on experience and context. It may lack an explicit set of fundamental principles or a coherent ethical framework. This could lead to the loss of idealistic goals and transformative change.

Pragmatism is an emerging philosophical movement that emphasizes the importance of practical implications in determining the value, truth, or value. It is a third alternative to the dominant analytic and continental philosophical traditions. Founded by Charles Sanders Peirce and William James with Josiah Royce as its founders, pragmatism evolved into two competing streams one of which is akin to relativism and the second toward realist thought.

The nature of truth is a central issue in the philosophy of pragmatism. Many pragmatists agree that truth is a valuable concept but they differ on the definition or how it is applied in practice.
