Rational Design and also Expansion of MOF-on-MOF Heterostructures.
The present study focused on propulsive forces applied during tethered swimming. The main aims were to identify asymmetries between dominant and non-dominant arms, quantify the effect of breathing on force application and, explore any association between each variable and swimming performance. Fifteen regional level swimmers completed a maximal front crawl tethered swimming test, with maximal kicking, under four conditions 1) Dominant arm strokes only, no breathing; 2) non-dominant arm strokes only, no breathing; 3) full stroke, no breathing; 4) full stroke, breathing on the preferred side. The outcome variables were absolute and normalised (force divided by body mass) minimum, mean and maximum force; stroke cycle time and; impulse. The symmetry index was also calculated, and all variables were correlated with the swimmers' season best times in 50 m front crawl. Oxaliplatin inhibitor Some bilateral force asymmetries were found, but they did not always favour the dominant side and were not directly linked with swimming performance. There was no strong evidence that force production is higher on the dominant side or that symmetry in force production affects performance. Despite the longer stroke cycle times when breathing, the breathing actions did not affect force production. Faster swimmers often produced higher maximum force values and, sometimes, higher mean force values. Objectives Giant cell arteritis (GCA) can manifest in cranial and/or extracranial arteries. We investigated the distribution of affected arteries on vascular ultrasound (VUS) among patients with new-onset or prior-onset GCA.Method We retrospectively studied patients with either new-onset or prior-onset GCA and an abnormal VUS, from 2013 to 2017. Trained vascular technologists imaged the bilateral temporal arteries and carotid, axillary, and subclavian arteries. Vascular medicine physicians interpreted the images. Vasculitis-related abnormalities in individual vessels and their distribution (temporal artery, large artery, or both) were evaluated. Phi coefficients (φ) and Fisher's exact test were used to assess correlations among individual abnormal arteries. Results Among 66 GCA patients, 28.8% had prior-onset GCA (median duration 17.8 months). Acute arteritis on VUS was observed in the majority of patients with both new-onset (72.3%) and prior-onset GCA (68.4%); the remainder had hyperechoic wall thickening without acute arteritis. Involvement of the temporal arteries only (45.5%) or large arteries only (34.8%) was more common than involvement of both (19.7%); this finding was similar in new-onset and prior-onset GCA. There were moderate positive correlations among temporal artery branches (φ = 0.51-0.58, p less then 0.003) and among axillary and subclavian arteries (φ = 0.51-0.77, p less then 0.003), and moderate negative correlations between abnormalities in the temporal and large arteries (φ = -0.46 to -0.58, p less then 0.003).Conclusion On VUS, vasculitis-related abnormalities in the temporal arteries only or large arteries only were more common than concurrent temporal and large artery abnormalities in patients with both new-onset GCA and prior-onset GCA.The amphiphilic humic acid ester ether (HAEE), as a kind of solid-phase extractant with characteristics of easy separation and hydrophilic-hydrophobic amphiphilic property, was prepared and used to extract micro or trace nitrofen, 2,4-dichlorophenol and p-nitrotrophenol (NIPs) from water and soil. Degradation of NIPs and extractant regeneration were carried out by simple photocatalysis. The adsorption equilibrium of the mono- or three mixed NIPs by HAEE in aqueous could be quickly reached within 20 min. The adsorption process was fit to quasi-second-order kinetics model and Friendlich thermodynamics model. The possible adsorption interaction was discussed. Results suggested that the adsorption of NIPs onto HAEE predominated by hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic interaction and π-π interaction. The extraction capacity of mixed NIPs (80 μg/L each component) by HAEE was up to 0.38 mg/g and tended to be multi-layer adsorption, in which p-nitrotrophenol had higher adsorption competitiveness because of lower resistance to HAEE. When HAEE-NIPs were degraded by photo-catalyst Fe0/F-TiO2 for 8 h, not only the adsorbed NIPs could be totally degraded and mineralized, but also the HAEE could be effectively regenerated. When the NIPs were continuously extracted from 40-year aging soil for three times (regenerative twice) by combined extractant (48 mL H2O + 2 mL n-hexane + 0.1 g HAEE), the total extraction efficiency of NIPs could reach to 84.66%. This research could supplement the theory and technique for harmless treatment of NIPs contaminated water and soil.
We aimed to develop and validate a nomogram for preoperatively estimating the risk of microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) within the Milan criteria.

The clinical data of 312 HCC patients who underwent liver surgery at the xxx from Jan 2017 to Dec 2019 were retrospectively collected. Then, the study population was categorized into the training and validation group based on the date of surgery. To identify risk factors related to MVI, we conducted a series of logistic regression analyses. By combining these risk factors, a nomogram was then established. We further clarified the usability of our model through the area under the ROC curve (AUC), decision curve analysis (DCA), and calibration curve.

Pathological examination revealed MVI in 108 patients with HCC (34.6%). Three independent predictors were identified level of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) exceeds 194 ng/mL (OR = 2.20, 95% CI 1.13-4.31, p = 0.021), size of tumor (OR = 1.59; 95% CI 1.18-2.12; P < 0.001) and number of tumors (OR = 3.37, 95% CI 1.64-7.28, p < 0.001). A nomogram was subsequently built with an AUC of 0.73 and 0.74 respectively in the training cohort and validation cohort. The calibration curve showed a relatively high consistency between predicted probability and observed outcomes. Besides, the DCA revealed that the model was clinically beneficial for preoperatively predicting MVI in HCC.

A model for evaluating the risk of MVI HCC patients was developed and validated. The model could provide clinicians with a relatively reliable basis for optimizing treatment decisions.
