The aim of this study was to explore factors that influence individuals' attitudes towards mandatory vaccination in Greece.

A nationally representative cross-sectional telephone survey was conducted via a random multistage selection process in October 2019 in Greece. The survey was designed to obtain information about whether vaccination should be mandated or not among adults 18 years of age or older. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to estimate the association between individuals' sociodemographic, contextual and clinical characteristics, utilization, satisfaction, and trust in the healthcare system and providers and their preference over mandatory vaccination.

A total of 901 participants fully completed the survey (response rate 90%-901/1001). About 85% of the respondents supported mandatory vaccination. The optimal embryos had lower chromosomal abnormality rates compared to the poor-quality embryos. The experimental group had significantly reduced rates of normal embryos and euploidy, and higher rates of total abnormalities, aneuploidy and unbalanced chromosomal aberrations. Carriers of reciprocal translocations had a reduced rate of normal embryos and an increased percentage of embryos with total abnormalities and unbalanced chromosomal aberrations compared with carriers of Robertsonian translocations. Couples with female carriers of chromosomal abnormalities had significantly reduced rates of normal embryos and euploidy, and a higher percentage of embryos with total abnormalities, aneuploidy, and unbalanced chromosomal aberrations compared with couples of male carriers. Our preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) study identified higher rates of chromosomal abnormalities, including chromosomal unbalanced translocations and aneuploidy, in blastocysts from CR carriers, especially from the female carriers, in a Chinese population. The PGT cycles successfully improved clinical outcomes by increasing the fertilization rate and reducing the early spontaneous abortion rate compared with the in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles, especially for CR carriers.

Adult patients with histologically proven unresectable anaplastic oligodendroglioma or mixed gliomas (World Health Organization [WHO] 2007) were eligible. Treatment consisted of BCNU (150 mg/m
) and temozolomide (110 mg/m
for 5 days) every 6 weeks for six cycles before radiotherapy.

Between December 2005 and December 2009, 55 patients (median age of 53.1 years; range, 20.5-70.2) were included. Forty percent of patients presented with wild-type IDH1 gliomas, and 30% presented with methylated MGMT promoter. Median progression-free survival (PFS), centralized PFS, and overall survival (OS) were 16.6 (95% confidence interval [CI], 12.8-20.3), 15.4 (95% CI, 10.0-20.8), and 25.4 (95% CI, 17.5-33.2) months, respectively. Complete and partial responses under chemotherapy were observed for 28.3% and 17% of patients, respectively. Radiotherapy completion was achieved for 75% of patients. Preservation of functional status and self-care capability (Karnofsky performance status [KPS] ≥70) were preserved until disease progression for 69% of patients. Grade ≥ 3 toxicities were reported for 52% of patients, and three deaths were related to treatment. By multivariate analyses including age and KPS, IDH mutation was associated with better prognostic for both PFS and OS, whereas MGMT promoter methylation was associated with better OS.

Reconstructed PDFF and R2* maps were analyzed by one analyst using multiple regions of interest drawications using CSE-MRI to quantify PDFF in the presence of iron overload.

Patients receiving opioid agonist therapies have high rates of psychiatric comorbidity. Some data suggest that comorbidity is associated with poorer treatment outcomes. The current study assessed predictors of multiple putative addictive behaviors among patients receiving opioid agonist therapies.

Adults (N = 176) recruited from an outpatient clinic providing opioid agonist therapy completed self-report measures of depression, anxiety, impulsivity, adverse childhood events, and the Recognizing Addictive Disorders (RAD) scale, which includes seven subscales assessing symptoms related to alcohol use, drug use, tobacco use, gambling, binge-eating, hypersexual behavior, and excessive video-gaming. Linear regression and hurdle models identified significant predictors of RAD subscales. Hurdle models included logistic regression estimation for the presence/absence of symptoms and negative binomial regression for estimation of the severity of symptoms.

Most patients did not report significant symptoms beyond dred symptoms of binge-eating, hypersexuality, and excessive video-gaming among patients receiving opioid agonist therapy. We developed a conceptual framework based on a narrative review of the literature to identify causal associations between alcohol use and various forms of liver disease including the complex interactions of alcohol with other major risk factors. Based on this framework, we estimate the identified relations for 2017 for the USA.

The following pathways were identified and modelled for the USA for the year 2017. Alcohol use caused 35 200 (95% uncertainty interval 32 800-37 800) incident cases of alcoholic liver cirrhosis. There were 1700 (uncertainty interval 1100-2500) acute hepatitis B and C virus (HBV and HCV) infections attributable to heavy-drinking occasions, and 14 000 (uncertainty interval 5900-19 500) chronic HBV and 1700 (uncertainty interval 700-2400) chronic HCV infections due to heavy alcohol use interfering with spontaneous clearance. Alcohol use and its interactions with other risk factors (HBV, HCV, obesity) led to 54 500 (uncertainty interval 50 900-58 400) new cases of liver cirrhosis. In addition, alcohol use caused 6600 (uncertainty interval 4200-9300) liver cancer deaths and 40 700 (uncertainty interval 36 600-44 600) liver cirrhosis deaths.
