The gutta-percha technique that uses plastic carrier obturators is one of the most commonly used; however, removing this core is tedious and time-consuming. Two clinical cases were performed by an expert in the field of endodontics, to expose this technique, in which a conical ultrasonic tip with an active point and a Hëdstrom hand file allowed the removal of the plastic carrier quickly and effectively. The use of magnification is indispensable for a predictable success with this method.
To generate outcomes for the development of a culturally appropriate mental health treatment model for Indigenous Australians with depression.

Three focus group sessions and two semi-structured interviews were undertaken over six months across regional and rural locations in South West Queensland. Data were transcribed verbatim and coded using manual thematic analyses. Transcripts were thematically analysed and substantiated. Findings were presented back to participants for authenticity and verification.

Three focus group discussions (n=24), and two interviews with Elders (n=2) were conducted, from which six themes were generated. The most common themes from the focus groups included Indigenous autonomy, wellbeing and identity. The three most common themes from the Elder interviews included culture retention and connection to Country, cultural spiritual beliefs embedded in the mental health system, and autonomy over funding decisions.

A treatment model for depression must include concepts of Indigenous autonomy, identity and wellbeing. Further, treatment approaches need to incorporate Indigenous social and emotional wellbeing concepts alongside clinical treatment approaches. Implications for public health Any systematic approach to address the social and cultural wellbeing of Indigenous peoples must have a community-led design and delivery.

To report the experience of quarantine for international arrivals to South Australia requiring quarantine in a medi-hotel setting during the COVID-19 pandemic and to describe the range of evidence-based support services to mitigate the mental health impacts of quarantine.

A range of services targeted at physical and mental wellbeing were provided. Data from 533 adult respondents out of 721 passengers were included. The Kessler 10 was used to measure psychological distress at two time points.

About 7.1% of respondents reported psychological distress at time one, reduced to 2.4% at time two. There was no significant difference in psychological distress by gender at either time point. The mean K10 score at time one was 13.6 (standard deviation=5.2) and the mean score at time two was 11.5 (standard deviation=3.1), with a significant reduction in mean scores (p<0.001) between the two time points.

The CPs crystallizing in the orthorhombic nonpolar space group, C2221 , reveal three-dimensional framework structures composed of MO4 tetrahedra and the corresponding homochiral linkers. Powder second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements indicate that the nonpolar CPs reveal very strong SHG efficiency of ca. 5-9 times that of KH2 PO4 and exhibit type-I phase-matching behavior. Density functional theory calculations suggest that the unusually large SHG efficiency found from the nonpolar CPs should be attributable to the synergistic effect of polarizable metal cations and enhanced hyperpolarizability in the donor-acceptor system originating from the hydrogen bonding in the coordinated linkers.This study evaluated the shaping ability of XP-endo Shaper and Mtwo systems in long-oval-shaped canals of extracted human mandibular molars using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Images recorded before and after preparation were evaluated for morphometric measures regarding increase in canal volume, dentin removed, surface area, untouched walls and structure model index (SMI). Data were statistically analysed using the Mann-Whitney test with 5% of significance. On both groups, the root canal preparation significantly increased all analysed parameters (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference between XP-endo Shaper and Mtwo systems in the increase of the canal volume (30.50%-27.82%), in volume of dentin removed (2.77%-2.40%), in the increase of the canal surface area (11.30%-8.86%), in canal untouched surfaces (9.57%-8.51%) and in the SMI (2.59%-2.68%), respectively.
