SRDN first highlights the most informative feature in the recognized vertebrae based on an attention mechanism. It then performs feature interaction, i.e., exchanges features of different vertebrae based on the graph reasoning mechanism. A reasoning controlling strategy is designed to prompt feature interaction in vertebrae with the same diagnosis labels and meanwhile reduces that in vertebrae with different labels, which avoids over-smoothing and improves diagnosis performance. RE-DECIDE is trained and evaluated using a challenging dataset consisting of 600 MRI images; the evaluation results show that RE-DECIDE achieves high performance in both recognition (accuracy 0.940) and diagnosis (AUC 0.947) tasks.Cultural beliefs and values are increasingly understood to influence the experience of pain, health-seeking, and pain management behaviours. Research exploring cultural beliefs about pain is particularly needed for Indian migrants, who have a high prevalence of pain and are among the largest migrant communities in Australia and internationally. The objective of this study was to explore pain-related beliefs and coping strategies of Hindi-speaking Indian migrants with chronic back pain living in Sydney. Indian migrants (n = 26) completed a demographic survey, standardised pain questionnaires (RMDQ, PSEQ and BBQ) and participated in one of five focus group discussions. This cohort had low levels of disability Mean (SD) [RMDQ 5.04 (3.2)], high self-efficacy [PSEQ 44.6 (8.8)], and relatively positive beliefs about back pain [BBQ 28.6 (4.4)]. Three categories of interconnected beliefs emerged from the focus groups causative, treatment/coping-related, and prognostic beliefs underpinned by a core cultural belief in 'the philosophy of Karma'. Within this core philosophy, three cultural values were central to the experience of pain and the construction of pain-related beliefs collectivism and contribution, gendered roles, and mind-body wellness. The incorporation of holistic approaches to back pain management with an emphasis on mindfulness, exercise, and physical activity aligned with family-oriented goals could be considered for management of chronic back pain among Indian migrant communities. CONTRIBUTION OF THE PAPER.
To investigate the effects of local vibration applied to the plantar region of the foot on static and dynamic balance in stroke patients.

Randomised, controlled trial.

Inpatient.

Thirty patients with stroke were randomised equally to the vibration and control groups.

The control group underwent conventional physical therapy (CPT) for 4 weeks. The vibration group underwent local vibration therapy at a frequency of 80Hz and CPT for 4 weeks.

The primary outcome measure was the Overall Stability Index (OSI). The secondary outcome measures were the Anteroposterior Stability Index, Mediolateral Stability Index, fall risk, Berg Balance Scale, Functional Reach Test (FRT), and Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) to assess balance; the Trunk Impairment Scale to measure trunk function; and the 10-m Walk Test (10MWT) to measure walking speed.

Participants receiving plantar vibration experienced greater improvements in static and dynamic balance assessments compared with participants in the control group. The mean change in OSI score between baseline and 4 weeks was 0.8 [standard deviation (SD) 0.8] for the vibration group and 0.02 (SD 0.6) for the control group [mean difference 0.4, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.1 to 0.7]. The median change in fall risk score was 0.7 [interquartile range (IQR) 0.4 to 1.4] for the vibration group and 0.1 (IQR -0.1 to 0.6) for the control group (median difference 0.5, 95% CI 0.2 to 0.7). TGF beta inhibitor The median change in TUG time was 4 (IQR 1 to 7) seconds for the vibration group and 4 (IQR 0 to 2) seconds for the control group (median difference 2.5, 95% CI 1.5 to 3.5).

These findings suggest that plantar vibration is useful in stroke patients. Plantar vibration can be applied to support CPT.

To evaluate the role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in women presenting with suspected implant complications following surgery for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Retrospective single-centre cohort study in a designated tertiary referral centre. All women with vaginally and/or abdominally placed implants for POP or SUI who were referred with suspected mesh complications, and investigated with an MRI scan, between January 2018-October 2020 were included in the study.

97 women were identified over this time-period with a total of 123 implants, a median age of 55years (Range 34-79) and an average insertion to presentation time of 84months (Range 2-300). 78% (74) had one implant in situ, with the remainder having at least 2 in situ. Transobturator tapes (TVT-O/TOT) were the most common implants [35% (43)]. Chronic Pelvic or abdominal pain was the most common clinical symptom [73.2% (71/112 primary complaints)] with provoked tenderness on examination being the most commanagement of patients with complications from implants. MRI can detect infection that may be more extensive that is initially clinically apparent in the outpatient setting. Abdominal implants appear to be easier to detect than transvaginal meshes and trans obturator tapes.
This integrative review aimed to develop an understanding of the experiences and perceptions of newly qualified nurses in the United Kingdom (UK).

In the transitional period following registration, newly qualified nurses may feel socially isolated and overwhelmed by increases in accountability, workplace pressures and the psychological demands of the role. Despite this, the experiences and perceptions of newly qualified nurses remains an under-researched area in the UK, with much of the existing research having been conducted internationally.

An integrative framework methodology was used as a basis for the literature review. The methodology comprised of five stages problem identification, literature search, data evaluation, data analysis and presentation of the findings. 20 papers were assessed for quality and analysed thematically.

Data were synthesised under four themes Preparation for real-world practice, the transition experience, growing into the role and preceptorship and support from the wider team.

The review suggests that newly qualified nurses require on-going support post qualification. Workplace culture appears to have a significant impact on the transition experience. The review provides further evidence in relation to the experiences of newly qualified nurses in the UK context. The review may help to inform the development of strategies to support and retain newly qualified nurses in an ever-changing health care environment.

Anomaly detection in driving behavior means recognizing anomalous driving states as a direct result of either environmental or psychological factors. This paper provides an efficient anomaly recognition approach to identify anomalous lane-changing events in a personalized manner. The proposed framework includes three unsupervised algorithms. First, a Recurrent-Convolutional Autoencoder extracts the spatio-temporal characteristics from a high-dimensional naturalistic driving dataset. Second, in order to recognize anomalous lane-changing events of individual drivers, the extracted latent feature space is analyzed using Pauta criterion-based reconstruction loss analysis, as well as one-class Support Vector Machine. Last, t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding is employed to visualize the latent space for better understanding and interpretability. Temporal anomalies of lane-changing events were analyzed by a personalized grey relational coefficient analysis, to represent robust similarities for individual drivers. Validation and calibration were performed with a natural driving study dataset collected from 50 drivers with 59,372 lane change events. The results showed heterogeneity in the pattern of abnormal lane changing behavior across the sample. At the same time, each driver exhibited heterogeneous anomalous behaviors in both temporal and spatial sequences. Without prior labels, the proposed model effectively captures personalized driving patterns and abnormal lane-changing events from high-dimensional time-series data. This unsupervised hybrid approach is a novel attempt to complete personalized anomalous lane-changing behaviors identification based on naturalistic driving data involving various traffic environments. Our approach enables the extraction of natural individual lane-changing behavior patterns and provides insights for the improvement of personalized driving behavior monitoring systems. While the anti-inflammatory activities of Eriodictyol, a plant-derived flavonoid is well-known, reports on its anti-cancer efficacy and selective cytotoxicity in cancer cells are still emerging. However, little is known regarding its mechanism of selective anti-cancer activities. Here, we show the mechanism of selective cytotoxicity of Eriodictyol towards cancer cells compared to normal cells. Investigation reveals that Eriodictyol significantly upregulates TNFR1 expression in tumor cells (HeLa and SK-RC-45) while sparing the normal cells (HEK, NKE and WI-38), which display negligible TNFR1 expression, irrespective of the absence or presence of Eriodictyol. Further investigation of the molecular events reveal that Eriodictyol induces apoptosis through expression of the pro-apoptotic DISC components leading to activation of the caspase cascade. In addition, CRISPR-Cas9 mediated knockout of TNFR1 completely blocks apoptosis in HeLa cells in response to Eriodictyol, confirming that Eriodictyol induced cancer cell apoptosis is indeed TNFR1-dependent. Finally, in vivo data demonstrates that Eriodictyol not only impedes tumor growth and progression, but also inhibits metastasis in mice implanted with 4T1 breast cancer cells. Thus, our study has identified Eriodictyol as a compound with high selectivity towards cancer cells through TNFR1 and suggests that it can be further explored for its prospect in cancer therapeutics.Disruptions to meat markets during the COVID-19 pandemic spurred mass media attention. While media deeming the U.S. food system 'broken' garnered a great deal of attention, the actual production and meat availability data does not support this conclusion. The U.S. meat supply chain, while certainly strained and with measurable consequence during periods of adjustment, proved ultimately resilient and rebounded quickly. Increased attention on meat supply chains may drive continued efforts to improve resiliency, but analyses of online media and U.S. production and cold storage data do not support a narrative that the system 'broke', but was perhaps 'strained' and 'responded efficiently'. Findings indicate that public sentiment about U.S. meat supply overall was not as dominated by pandemic-era concerns as may be hypothesized.
