The acclimated plants were subsequently transferred to field condition where they grew normally without any phenotypic differences. Genetic stability of B. juncea plants regenerated from somatic embryos were confirmed by inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR)-PCR analysis and flow cytometry. No significant difference in ploidy level and ISSR banding pattern were documented between somatic embryo's plants and control plants grown ex vitro.Black chickpea is a good source of bioactive compounds, particularly isoflavones. Sprouting improves nutraceutical value in chickpea seeds. TP-0903 datasheet This study aimed to explore the role of sprouting of black chickpea seeds on the synthesis of isoflavones and evaluate the impact of the soluble isoflavone on cellular antioxidant activity (CAA) and antiproliferative activity in breast cancer cells. Isoflavones were identified and quantified by HPLC-UV-MS. The CAA and antiproliferative activity were determined in HepG2 cells and MDA-MB-231 cancer cells, correspondingly. In sprouted black chickpea, six isoflavones (formononetin, biochanin-A, and its glycosides) were identified and the total isoflavones content increased (0.31 to 35.72 µgBA/mg of extract). The CAA was increased five times from 137.2 to 788.2 µMEQ/100 g of sample. The bioactive compounds in sprouted chickpea decreased the proliferation of MDA-MB-231 cell line. Also caused morphological changes such as cell shrinkage, rounding and nuclear fragmentation. The results herein suggest that bioactive compounds, as isoflavones, in sprouted black chickpea showed a potential antioxidant and antiproliferative activity. Therefore, it may be considered as a value-added product or ingredient for produce functional foods. We evaluated the compaction tolerance of some warm-season turfgrasses under shade and sunlight conditions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Hybrid bermudagrass, Cynodon dactylon, cultivars 'Tifway' and 'Tifsport,' seashore paspalum (Paspalum vaginatum) and its cultivar 'Sea Isle 2000' were used. The study area was divided into two sections one was exposed to sunlight and the other was maintained under 70% shade using a green plastic grille. Turfgrasses were planted using "sods" in beds containing a mixture of sand, silt, and peat moss (4 1 1, v/v). The soil was compacted using a locally-made 250 kg cylindrical roll, passing four times over the grown turfgrasses for 3 days/week. The results showed that plant height, leaf area, grass quality and color were decreased by compaction in both the shade and sunlight areas. Plant height in the shaded area with or without compaction was higher than in the sunlight area. Under compaction, 'Sea Isle 2000' was the shortest 8.8 cm in the sunlight and 14.3 cm in the shade. For grasses grown in sunlight, compaction decreased grass height, and height was lowest (4.0 cm) for paspalum 'Sea Isle 2000' in January. In the shaded area, paspalum turfgrass retained its high quality (4.0) in April, May, and June. In the sunlight area, the grass quality was highest (4.0) in 'Sea Isle 2000' and the lowest (3.0) in 'Tifsport.' Paspalum turfgrass showed a higher color degree (4) than bermudagrass (2.5) in April, May, and June. Compaction also led to a decline in leaf area and fresh and dry weights of all grown turfgrasses. The grass density was high for paspalum turfgrasses, indicating that their resistance to compaction was greater than bermudagrasses. It can be concluded that the best compaction and shade-tolerant turfgrasses are 'Sea Isle 2000' and seashore paspalum.
This study examined usefulness and efficiency of Lurasidone in appraisal with the placebo as for the treatment of Bipolar Disorders.
Seven treatment centers in Pakistan were selected for the purpose of starting a six week-long control trial (randomized and double-blind placebo). 76 subjects, already diagnosed with Bipolar I or II based on DSM 5 diagnosis, were selected after randomization. Patients were allocated in one of the two groups. Primary efficacy of the drug was measured using Young Mania Rating Scale. Positive response of the drug was defined as 50% reduction in symptoms from the baseline/13 point less than the baseline score on Young Mania Rating Scale. Efficacy and safety of the drug was assessed using variety of markers such as administering extra-pyramidal symptoms rating scale, adverse side effects reported, electrocardiograms, body weight, vital signs changes, and laboratory investigations.
Patients treated with Lurasidone showed enhanced improvement in their overall health and symptoms manifestation in comparison to patients who were given placebo
Lurasidone treated patients showed a better response to the drug (66%), in comparison with the placebo treated patients (42%).
Study was conducted on small scale due to complexity.
Patients treated with Lurasidone showed reduction in bipolar symptoms and tolerate the drug well.
Patients treated with Lurasidone showed reduction in bipolar symptoms and tolerate the drug well.An endangered and rare species Aloe pseudorubroviolacea from the plant family Asphodelaceae which is presently recorded as endangered in Saudi Arabia collected from Al-Baha region of Saudi Arabia its GPS Latitude and Longitude coordinates 19.8345, 41.5481. The chloroplast matK and rbcL gene was considered in this study based on molecular identification the size is about 571 and 664 bp respectively. From the sequence analysis the gene matK and rbcL confirm that this species is very much closely related with A. rubroviolacea and also inter related with the species Astroloba rubriflora, Chrysopogon gryllus, Chortolirion angolense shows about 98.7% sequence homology. The partial matK and rbcL gene sequence discriminate Aloe pseudorubroviolacea from the closely related plant species, A. rubroviolacea. The gene sequence of rbcL discriminates the species from Chrysopogon gryllus and Chortolirion angolense, demonstrates the nucleotide variations in 3 different sites (623C/T; 653C/T; 700C/A). This study showed that matK and rbcL sequence region of chloroplast gene used to authenticate the samples of A. pseudorubroviolacea and which provide to help in correct identification and conservation process of this medicinally valuable endangered plant species.Being the most conserved region of all hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes and sub-genotypes, the 5' untranslated region (5' UTR) of HCV genome signifies it's importance as a potential target for anti-mRNA based treatment strategies like RNA interference. The advent and approval of first small interference RNA (siRNA) -based treatment of hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis for clinical use has raised the hopes to test this approach against highly susceptible viruses like HCV. We investigated the antiviral potential of consensus siRNAs targeted to stem-loops (SLs) II and III nucleotide motifs of internal ribosome entry site (IRES) structure within 5' UTR of HCV sub-genotype 4a isolates from the Saudi population. siRNA inhibitory effects on viral replication and translation of full-length HCV genome were determined in a competent, persistent, and reproducible Huh-7 cell culture system maintained for one month. Maximal inhibition of RNA transcript levels of HCV-IRES clones and silencing of viral replicatm. Furthermore, we also elucidated that siRNA silencing of viral mRNA not only inhibits viral replication but also blocks viral translation. link2 The results suggest that siRNA potent antiviral activity should be considered as an effective anti-mRNA based treatment strategies for further in-vivo investigations against less studied and harder-to-treat HCV sub-genotype 4a isolates in Saudi Arabia.Nanobiotechnology is a fast growing field in which instruments are created by nano size particles of approximately 1 to 100 nm (1 to 100 nm) of the scale of nanometers. Nanoparticles today have potential implications for life sciences and human health applications. In this research, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were successfully synthesized using Saussurea costus root aqueous extract and AgNPs have been characterized by the use of UV-Vis, Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), and Electromicroscopy of transmission (TEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDXs). The highest number of particles are in the 5 to 15 nm range. AgNPs have been added in saffron dye solution for degradation dye biosynthesizing, and product analysis using UV/vision spectrophotometer, FTIR and HPLC has been performed. link3 Green-summed AgNPs effectively degraded the color, with UV/VIS spectrophotometers, around 84.6 percent at 72 h of exposure time. The decrease in tested dye and presence of multiple new highs in the samples treated with different retention times (Rt) 2.30, 6.10 and 12.24 min, is positive for the biodegradation compared to the untreated dye with single high at 10.31 min, respectively. This green chemistry is very advantageous for AgNPs biosynthesis, for example, cost-effectiveness and usability for medicinal, pharmaceutical and extensive industrial applications. Furthermore, the bio-recovery unit for plant extracts provides a greater ease of handling, compared to micro-organisms.Extraneous activities of either the mouth, tongue or the jaw comprise the oral parafunctional habits of the stomatognathic system. This denominated habit is expressed through bruxism, digit sucking, nail biting to name a few, have led to hypothesizing the possible relationship of evolution of occluso-facial abnormalities such as malocclusion thereby hindering the conventional developmental process. Hence, the present study aimed to determine the prevalence and the possible relationship of parafunctional oral habits with the types of malocclusions among 12-16 years old females in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This cross-sectional study was conducted through questionnaire and clinical examinations, where the sagittal abnormalities within a randomly selected 672 participants who met the eligibility criteria were tabulated and analyzed. A positive history of the presence of parafunctional habit was recorded among all the participants with nasal and mouth breathing [46.6%], nail biting [39.6%] being predominant. 36.4% presented with significantly higher prevalence of bi-maxillary protrusion in mouth breathers while 17.1% with moderate overbite in participants with nail biting habit. Therefore, within the limitations of the present study, the findings do support the literature on the prevalence and the possible association of these habits with the malocclusion development thereby emphasizing on the importance of early recognition, management and prevention of them.
